Anyone want to see the Creed movies?

Haven't seen "Creed 3" yet, but I've been more than Impressed by 1-&-2👍so I'd say: "GO for it, Jen!"🥊
The Creed series is definitely worth watching.
you will enjoy creed one for sure its really good and has awesome music , the second one i enjoyed very much but the third was a bit of a miss for me kinda rocky 5 territory but i always respond with yes so hell yes watch them all :)
YES! The 'Creed' films hit hard and tug at the heartstrings just as much as the 'Rocky' series.
Yes, to 1 and 2. Idk about 3.
The speech rocky gives to his son is one of the greatest speeches ever. It actually helped motivate and save my life when I was at my lowest, I rewatch it everyday to remind myself to keep moving forward and never give up.
I think about those words most days if I'm honest.
Yeah, but after that great speech, see where they took Rocky and Robert’s relationship in the Creed movies.
I read that speech for my mom's eulogy in May. She absolutely lived by this, despite chronic pain and then Parkinson's, she kept moving forward.
Glad it helped you as well.
Same
Totally 👍👍 it's a stand out speech for the entire series.
RIP Carl Weathers, Burgess Meredith, & Burt Young 😔
And Tony Burton (Duke).
Tommy Morrison, Sage Stallone...
The speech between Rocky and his son outside the restaurant stands out as one of the epic speeches of modern cinema.
Which is what Rocky did in his matches against his opponents if you think about it
Great Reaction......
I read in a interview where Talia Shire agreed with the idea of Adrian passed away before this movie happens.... She said that (summarized) "It would make no sense for Rocky to fight if Adrian was alive" and when asked if she felt bad about being left out of the movie, she replied "The whole movie is about Adrian"
But it was confusing
It shouldn't be underestimated how much this brought Stallone back from the wilderness and also how this gave rise to the belated/legacy sequel trend.
even his Rambo got a good sequel (and the last one is not bad, better than the third).
@@hornorsilk2901 Would Love to see Jen continue those too👍She's already Reacted to "First Blood."
@@tomhoffman4330 the first, fourth and fifth are my favorites. The second and third are their own thing, and yes, have some value to them, but I find the fourth and fifth go in the kind of direction I prefer for him (even if I do have some issues with the fifth).
I'm a sucker for Sly and have watched 'Last Blood' a few times but it's depressing AF, with Rambo being more like Jason Vorhees @@hornorsilk2901
@@hornorsilk2901 I would love to see what the fifth movie would have been like without the studio interference.
First 'Rocky' film I saw in cinemas and maybe the greatest cinema experience I've ever had...
Went opening night, the queue was leading out of the building. The film was better than anyone could have imagined, applause when the training montage hit and a second applause when he first knocks Mason down. And THAT speech is one of the most inspiring things I've ever heard and something I try to live by.
I never watched this one until the week before Creed released.
"That guy is fangirling more than me."
That is Max Kellerman, and he is a boxing expert, historian, commentator and a huge fan of the Rocky movies. He calls Rocky 3 his favorite boxing movie of all time.
The platonic friendship between Rocky and Little Marie in this movie is an underrated element IMO. Just not that often movies show us a relationship like that without making it romantic.
I agree. It would've been so easy to make her rockys new love interest, but I'm glad they didn't go that route. Plus, it highlights how deep rockys love for Adrian goes to show that even in death, he won't allow himself to love anyone else because both rocky and Adrian brought out the best in each other.
This was fun, Jen. Some reactors get in the way of the films they react to. But you amplify them, make them better. You're the best, Jen!
Thanks kevin!
@@jenmurrayxo Mon plaisir, Jen.
💯
Yes completely agree. Jen has the right balance which feels like we are watching the movie with her.
Good movie Jen
Spider Rico, the old man washing dishes, was in the first scenes of the first movie, btw.
Btw, George Foreman's last professional fight, he was almost 49 years of age. He fought Shannon Briggs who was 25. The fight went the full 12 rounds. Briggs won a somewhat controversial majority decision, despite Foreman's stats showing a much higher percentage of punches landed.
Two of the three judges at ringside were Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder.
It's the only explanation as to how Shannon won that fight.
@@TheRetroManRandySavage
I most certain that the third judge was Jose Feliciano.
@@TheRetroManRandySavage "Two of the three judges at ringside were Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder.
It's the only explanation as to how Shannon won that fight." 😅🤣😂
Briggs himself fought into his 40s.
@@TheRetroManRandySavage one of the main commentary teams had it Foreman 8 rounds to Briggs' 4. That's not even close to Briggs being possibly in front.
21:18 This is a speech that everyone can apply to their own real lives, and Stallone delivers it so beautifully.
KUDOS to the most thorough reactor! Jen, please never sell yourself short again. YOU ARE one of the most LEGIT reactors on CZcams! Numbers are one thing, but the reason I show up is simple. You make me feel like I'm watching a movie with a friend that I'm excited about, and you GET IT! Insight, plot, score, set design, etc. Most reactors really just "play it up for the camera". And I'll say this, you come across as someone who CARES! Truthfully, I'd be here if you only had ten subscribers. Really, your future does look very bright. I see You mentioned on other channels. That alone speaks volumes. Always here for support and friendship...Eric 😊
Thanks Eric :)
Well said, Eric.
@@kevinlewallen4778 Thank you Kevin
I gotta give Sly credit. He took the improbable and made it compelling.
Thanks, as always, Miss Jen!
In case you never noticed, the guy that was in the corner was Tony Duke Evers. He was Apollo's trainer from the first movie and has appeared in all of the films. He was the one in the first film that was paying attention to Rocky and tried to tell Apollo he meant business.
13:08 Yes. I watched that simulated fight between Ali and Marciano on TV back in the day. An interesting thing about Rocky Marciano is that, for decades, people have said that he had no skill or technique and won his fights through raw brute strength and toughness. However, more recent analyses of his fights have found that his fighting style was so unorthodox that people didn't recognize that it contained a great deal of technique and strategy. For instance, the seemingly awkward way he moved and carried himself actually helped him evade and deflect incoming punches and enabled him to generate sudden explosive power in his own punches.
Something a lot of people miss - Rocky having Spider Rico working at the restaurant. Spider Rico, the boxer from the first movie who head-butted him in the opening scene. That's the goodness of Rocky.
My favorite scene is where Rocky sees Mickey in his corner admonishing Rocky to "Go through him! Run over him!" A plan for many of Life's challenges.
The speech between Rocky and his son is something that I live by still today. I have it written in my room and see it everyday so I remember that I will always be knocked down, but to never give up fighting.
George Foreman was an absolute legend who first won the heavyweight championship in 1973 and then lost it to the great Muhammad Ali. He made a comeback years later and shocked everyone by winning the heavyweight title in the 90s at the age of 45 against the 26-year-old champ. Foreman didn't even look like he used to, being really overweight and slow at that point but he still had ridiculous power in his hands and got a KO.
Hence the popularity of the George Foreman grill in the aftermath
Something that not a lot of people these days know -- Clubber Lang SEEMS like a Mike Tyson analogue, but Mike hadn't gone pro yet and was still with Cus D'Amato and a LOT calmer in those days. Lang was based on _Foreman._ And just like Mr. T became a lovable guy after Rocky 3, George Foreman became a lovable guy in his older age.
I remember watching the Forman fight, I think in 1994 or 95 against Michael Moore with my brother and dad. If I remember, Forman was known for his size and power. He actually retired a few times but often went back as he needed the money. His first retirement was in the late 70's after he collapsed and almost died after a fight.
Really cool that they got the same actor who played Spider Rico from the first film to reprise his role for this. 🕷️🥊
Hi Jen!
I’m so glad you’re finally watching Rocky Balboa - it’s been a long time coming. It’s easily one of my favorites.
And you’re doing Star Trek Beyond! Yippee! This is turning out to be such a good week to watch with you.
And finally, a very happy Valentine’s Day to you!
I loved every Rocky movie! This was no exception! No matter what, Rocky always stays Rocky. Great reaction, as usual!
There is a phrase that says "Its better to be a warrior in a garden than a gardner in a war". Rocky is the classic good guy that could just waste you in a fight, but he could also save your ass if you need it. That speach to his son is one of the greatest movie monologues ever. Classic American hero.
You have a genuine appearance and reaction. You look like you're a true friend to those in your life
His physique in this movie is always impressive, hes freakish in all movies, but this one was nuts.
This is the perfect finale for the Rocky series. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. We got that Epic Dad to Son Golden Speech! Rocky didn't win the fight but didn't care. He gave a great performance, gave himself peace of mind, and that was his goal.
The crowd learned to respect Mason for pushing himself hard by fighting with a broken hand. It was a win-win fight for both Rocky and Mason.
22:39 the way he shakes his head and pops his neck is killing me. 🤣
I love how, out of all the announcers, the young one is just a huge Rocky fan and ignores how much the other two mock him.
One day I want to be as happy as Jen during a training montage
But it ain't about how many strikes you're hit with. It's about how many strikes you can get hit with and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done! 💜🥊
George Foreman made a late career comeback at 45 & is the oldest boxer ever to become heavyweight champion. He definitely wasn't anywhere near fast anymore but he was damn strong.
when He kod Gerry Cooney I thought his head was gonna detach from his body
I love watching you enjoy these films... takes me back to when they were new to me, .but I can't wait till we get to CREED II
The character, Spider, the dude down washing dishes.
He was the first person/actor we see fighting Rocky in the original film
I was born in 76 so Rocky has always been a part of my life. I remember seeing this in the theater and as a 30 year old male I was sitting there crying. The Rocky movies have so much heart and know just how to tug at your emotions in a good way. The deaths of Mickey and Apollo in 3 and 4 were like losing good friends. When this opened with Adrian being gone, I felt like I had lost a close relative. Such a great end to the Rocky series. I can't wait to see your reaction to the Creed films!
This was the perfect conclusion to Rocky’s story (as a fighter). I still get emotional when I watch it
Awesome reaction of my favorite Rocky movie!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊
The dog. Look at this dog 😊❤❤
This reaction is a knockout 🥊💥 tears , laughs , fist pumps what more can we ask for 🙌🔥
With Jen, We never need to "Ask" for More.😉 Good to See You too, Ian👋
i see what you did there :)

I'm a Philly chic, and yes, people come here and run up the steps. Lol I really hope you watch the CREED movies. There great!!! It all ties in. You will definitely love them!!!!! ❤
Yup! I am a Texas guy who grew up on Rocky and got to run those steps a few years ago. Nothing like it for a lifelong Rocky fan.
Happy Valentines Day, cute Jen!
Bless you, Jen.. For the bulk of the review your top read "TALIA".. a lovely accidental but karmic nod to actress Talia Shire (Adrian). ❤
What an interesting observation!
I missed that, well spotted and so appropriate.
This, I think, is the second best Rocky movie, right after the first, but i like them all a great deal, even Rocky 5
Any day watching a 'Rocky' film is a good day in my book.
Well this was an emotional roller coaster... Love that he has the painting from Rocky lll in the restaurant! Nice detail. That brief but heartfelt hug with Rocky and Paulie after the fight was just so sweet
Great reaction Jen!! Now I highly recommend you to see the "Creed" saga. It´s great as well!
Why do I love Jen so much? She gets it! She understands the movie. I've seen so many reactors being so butthurt about Adrian being dead that they completely missed the rest of the movie and its whole beauty. Jen didn't. She took the hit yet kept moving forward. Thank you so much for being you! Be blessed!
Also, if you want to see one of this movie's most touching scene, which was cut out of the movie for some reason I really can't fathom, look up Paulie misses Adrian. And have tissues handy. 😉
21:31 this speech ranks right up there with his speech at the end of “First Blood”.
Jen, the final fight was filmed in Vegas in front of an audience who were there for a real fight, filmed by the HBO crew to make it look as if it were a fight you’d actually see today.
It was more fit in
I have to wait for a check, then I'll watch Rocky Balboa, and be back for this. I've heard it's decent to good.
This one is Beyond "Decent"👌it belongs among / between the 1st & 2nd as the Best of them All!👍
I'll judge for myself, thank you.@@tomhoffman4330
Great reaction as always Jen. I always enjoy your work. This was no exception. Keep up the great work!
Hi Jen hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤
Thanks John you too!
It’s not about winning or losing, it’s all about going to the distance.
Great reaction Jen. You're right. This was the perfect way to wrap up the Rocky series. V was a disappointment, so going back, reconnecting with Little Marie, helping out Spider, (who Rocky fought in the first fight in the first movie), and losing a split decision, (just like in the first one), made the journey feel complete.
George Foreman was in his 40s when he made his comeback. Sly might have been a lot older than that when he made the movie. 😊
They reference George Foreman, he literally shocked the world when he came back after 10 years away being a preacher and fought his way back in to heavy weight contention, constantly talked about in the way Rocky was here, as a joke, and then at 46 years old he knocked out the Heavy Weight World Champion, Michael Moorer and regained the Heavy Weight World Champion title he lost to Muhammad Ali 21 years earlier.
You're a total Boss, Jenn! I love your work!!
Jenny you are a fan. I had a great moment with you in this reaction
Rocky accepted the name "Punchy" for his dog because that's what he used to be called by people. "Once it's in your head you never forget it." That line says a lot. He didn't like the name at the time, but at this point he just owns it.
Glad you love this movie as much as my kids and I do. Rocky is timeless!
It's been fun revisiting the Rocky films with your reactions. I hope to continue with you in the Creed films!
In the original script Adrian was still alive, but they thought for the development of the Rocky character she should be deceased. In an interview Talia Shire (Adrian) agreed it was the best thing for the film. Even though Adrian is not here, it is still a Rocky love story. The actor that played Duke (Tony Burton) also passed away, in 2016. Paulie (Burt Young) passed away last year. He was a boxer in the military and had his own restaurant like Rocky here.
You know I love your reactions! Love how you feel about i love, Star Trek, this Rocky story keep going ob!,
A nice & sweet new first time watching of the quite emotional Rocky Balboa. Jen. I'm looking forward to your next first time watching video. :)
This was the last movie I watched with my father and we both were cheering and sobbing at the end. I just finished watching with you and I'm cheering and sobbing again. Thank you for bringing these memories back to me. Thank you.
Antonio Tarver was an older fighter in this movie . By the time it was released he was 35 or 36 but its still a baby compared to Rocky. Also He was a light heavyweight and after this movie he moved to heavyweight because its hard to drop the weight he gained for the movie
My favorite Rocky movie. I love how the fight is presented as a real HBO PPV broadcast, with the real broadcast team and everything. This was a great in-theater experience.
"I just never knew it was going to be this hard"!!!
Rocky talking to Paulie prior to wanting to fight again. I can relate. We can all relate to some extent I imagine.
It's said that we all have a soulmate, so when your soulmate is taken away without just cause, it's something you live with the rest of your life. That's the sort of thing that lives in my "basement" and I don't wish that on my worst enemy. Life isn't fair, it sucks most every day, but the good days make you wake up and crave another good day.
And as Rocky says perfectly in part of his speech to his son ""But it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward."
I love your reactions!
I'm not a boxing fan but I remember the name of former champion, George Foreman. I vaguely remember his a a figure from my childhood, I think. Then, well into my adulthood and second career, he decided to make a comeback. Our local sports announcer on the CBS affiliate was a big boxing guy. He wished foreman well but thought he didn't have a chance. I have never seen somebody so happy as when Foreman won again. Now, I am in my 60s. I still don't care for boxing but thinking of what Foreman did is an inspiration.
Just rewatched this last night. So good. Rocky is the greatest character in cinema. It's like he is there to simply show us and inspire us how to be the best possible person in an often crappy world. Yes he is in the first two Creed movies which are both good.
Hi Jen, loved your emotional reaction to this great movie. Burt Young (Paulie) was an accomplished artist/painter who had works of art in galleries all over the world. Not that many people know that about him. This movie always brings a tear to my eye everytime I watch it also. Always looking forward to your next reaction. Thanks Jen
I needed some inspiration today and this was a great way to soak some in .
A great way to wrap up the series that has become a grand source of inspiration who doesn't feel like going out to train when they hear that theme 🥊
i believe Stallone mentioned he decided Adrian needed to die in order for Rocky to have some thing to fight for , i felt it did play out well that way even though it was sad
Rocky Balboa always will be an icon of pop culture and perseverance , so i will train to this
Hope you have a wonderful Valentine's day JEN
sending light and Love !
🌹
As Pauly said, literally "the last round of your life."
Burt Young(Paulie) was a bit of a renaissance Man.He was an accomplished artist, an author and a very decent boxer who trained under Angelo Dundee (Ali's trainer.)He won 32 out of 34 fights as an amateur, and 16 or 17 fights(unbeaten) as a pro.Looks can be deceiving. RIP.
One of my favourite actors.
In case you didn't pick up on it, Spider (the guy who washed the dishes) was the guy he fought right at the beginning of Rocky I.
Just saw it now for the first time and wow such a great movie!
Yep, still my favorite Rocky movie. Thanks for sharing this one, Jen. 🙂
Yay! Got to spend time with my reactor Valentine. ❤
I would say the Creed movies are definitely worth watching as well, it's part of the whole saga still so you should see it through. I completely agree with you, this movie really was the perfect way to wrap it up, it couldn't have been more satisfying, except of course if Adrian hadn't died. It does definitely go back to the original movie's tone more, but is still very much doing it's own thing and feels fresh. I feel your sadness learning about Adrian , and the walk around all the places from the original movie, all the flashbacks just get me every time too. I also like how Paulie found a hobby in painting, and when Rocky is talking to him about the beast in the basement, it almost seems like Paulie had taken some therapy sessions or something, because his whole demeanor changed and was genuinely helping Rocky figure it out, but sounded like he was asking questions that he may have heard from his therapist. I'm really glad Duke was back Training Rocky, it was good to see familiar faces, the legacy characters. I just want to thank you Jen as we finish this journey of epic movies, it has been an absolute pleasure watching these films with you, you are one of my reactors, you appreciate all the little things in movies I do, the music and special moments, and it makes for a really special experience, so thank you.
Happy Valentine’s Day! You rock!😁
Thanks Pauley! Happy Valentine's Day :)
Aw, Jen. I'd offer hugs if I could. You're making me cry more than the movie already had me doing. ♥
Nice shirt Jen your going to like this one!
Awesome reaction to this, a great movie!!! Can remember seeing this movie in the theater when it first came out. Not many people were expecting much from this movie and pretty much everyone in the audience was making crude jokes - I even did not expect much from this movie either. While the movie was playing, the audience was talking, being rude, and other stuff going on. As the movie progressed, the jokes were slowly stopping until they eventually ended as the audience was becoming enthralled by the goings-on. When the movie ended pert near everyone was clapping and saying how much they enjoyed the movie and glad that it really was an awesome FAREWELL to a beloved character. This was probably one of Stallones top 10 performances!!
It's not really clear in the scene, but when Steps names the dog "Punchy" he is insulting Rocky and calling him punchy. Punchy is a word people use when someone is slow as if they had been punched a lot. Rocky is aware he is being insulted but as usual tries to be nice. That's why when Marie asks about the dog and Rocky tells her the name she says, "I think its disrespectful."
Also, the guy washing dishes at the beginning in the restaurant and the one reading from the bible before the fight is Spider Rico. The same guy he fought in the original Rocky film at the very beginning. Spider is down on his luck and Rocky was feeding him for free, so Spider wanted to try to repay Rocky for his kindness.
It's important to note that George Foreman made a comeback and won the heavyweight championship at age 45 by defeating 26-year-old Michael Moorer in the 10th round. I think Rocky is older here, but it is only exhibition, and only one fight.
That speech that Rocky gives to Robert is brilliant. " you, me or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it's not how hard you can hit. It's about how hard you CAN get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward! That's how winning is done! "
This movie holds a special place in my heart. I watched it in the theatre a short time after my father passed, and I just wanted the kid to have a better relationship with his dad. As for your question about breaking hands and continuing to fight, I've watched several boxing matches where the fighter broke their hand. They went to the corner and were asked by their corner men if they could still go. They answered yes, so the corner men gave the fighter advice, changing their tactics on the fly so that they could continue fighting. Pugilism is a tough profession.
Hi Jen! Great reaction! Actually- Adrian was in this movie from the daily visits, to the restaurant name, to the annual tour of all the places they went, to Adrian's picture the night before the fight, and to the flashbacks of Adrian, and always mentioning her in conversation. WATCH the ALTERNATE ending where Rocky wins this fight against Dixon! React to Stallone's 1981 "Nighthawks "! MOST UNDERRATED COP MOVIE OF ALL TIME! Enjoy and God bless you Jen!
💐HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY, JEN!💝 Here We GO🥊Rocky puts the Gloves back on, and comes out of Retirement for One Last Fight!👍 I think this one comes the closest to recapturing the Heart-&-Soul of Stallone's Original Film🥲I only Wish that Adrian could have been here too...💔
Couldn't have said it better myself.

Little Marie is played by the same actress that played her in the first movie.
This is my personal favorite Rocky movie. I really like that they cast a real boxer to play Mason Dixon. At the time Antonio Tarver was considered the best pound for pound boxer in the world. Since you like these Rocky movies. When you have the chance you should check out the movie "Warrior". It came out in 2011. It is highly underrated. It stars Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton. They play estranged brothers who are MMA fighters. It has a very powerful story of family and redemption, similar to a Rocky movie. I think you would really like it.
I bawled like a baby as I always do . Can’t wait for your Creed reactions ! ⭐️
This is a sweet movie. For years I thought Talia Shire had died IRL and that's why she wasn't in this movie, but no, she's alive and well. Thank goodness for the Internet to dispel such misconceptions! The movie just didn't work as well with her in it; it made more sense to kill Adrian off to make the movie more emotionally resonant and give Rocky a reason to want to fight again. Lovely movie.
Jenn RULES
i grew up with rocky movies only on vhs, and i regret not seeing this movie when it was in theaters.
Being someobe who boxed for 7 yrs yes I can confirm they will not stop fight if you break your hand it's really at you and your corners discretion but when it's numb you can throw it as hard as you want and won't feel anything 😂😂😂
The Rocky Statue was taken down from its spot at the top. People kept coming to see it and asked where it was. They eventually put it back out but now is located at the base of the stairs and to the side.
Spider is the guy he was boxing in Rocky at the beginning. Same actor also
This is one of my favorite films in the franchise. It's got such heart. I think for a long time it was supremely underrated. It's about heart and not giving up. Both fighters. Dixon has to learn it. Rocky has to show it.
3:20 I have a lot of respect for restaurant workers. That work isn't easy.....on your feet all day long, hardly a chance to sit down. RESPECT
10:15 Rocky never wanted his kid to box. I don't remember his exact words in the third movie, but he mentioned in a scene he wanted him to grow up smart. In the words of Apollo Creed, "Be a thinker, not a stinker!"
26:47 It's an honor to be in the ring with him. But I have to end him," Paul said in front of the Ferrari garage at the Miami Dolphins' Hard Rock Stadium. Paul, 27, will fight Tyson, 57, on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The match will be available on Netflix.
This could be a real Rocky Balboa vs. Mason Dixon fight with Mike Tyson playing the role of Rocky!
One of the best speeches in movies history
Great reaction Jen. Yes, . He’s in the Creed movies. Thanks for the fun till next time.
