UD Trucks - UD Extra Mile Challenge 2022

From October 18-21, heavy-duty truck drivers from around the world competed in the UD Extra Mile Challenge 2022 global final, held at the UD Experience Center in Ageo, Japan. Due to the pandemic, this was the first time since 2018 that the global final was held, and the fifth such competition since it was introduced in 2015.
The UD Extra Mile Challenge is a driver-skill based competition that tests drivers in three key areas: pre-drive inspection, fuel efficient and safe driving, and maneuvering and parking skills. The competition featured the top drivers from 11 countries, each having already won individual regional competitions from a field of 260 drivers. Three drivers for the heavy-duty Quon and eight for the heavy-duty Quester battled in their bid to become the Ultimate Driver.
This year's winner was Kouichi Aizawa of Nissho Maruwn Co., Ltd. representing Japan in the Quon category, and Mr. Chawin Chalermyart of S. Kanoksub Logistics Co., Ltd. representing Thailand in the Quester category.
ＵＤトラックスは１０月１９日（水）〜２１日（金）の３日間にわたり、世界各国のドライバーが競い合う国際競技会「ＵＤエクストラマイルチャレンジ２０２２」の決勝戦を上尾本社、ＵＤエクスペリエンスセンターで開催しました。本大会が行われたのは２０１８年以来４年ぶりで、通算５回目となります。
ドライバーは、実際の運行手順を再現した「始業点検」、「燃費効率・安全運転」、「操作・駐車技術」という種目で技能を競い合いました。各種目は収益性、燃費効率、稼働率、メンテナンスコストそして安全性を基準として採点され、最高得点を獲得したドライバーが、高度な効率性を兼ね備えたドライバー、すなわち「究極のドライバー”Ultimate Driver”」の称号を獲得します。
今年の優勝者は、クオン部門では、日本代表の日昭丸運社の会沢公一氏、クエスター部門は、タイ代表のカモクスブ・ロジスティックス（Kamokusub　Logistics）社のチャウィン・チャレミャル　（ChawinChalermyart）氏に決定しました。
