      The problem with subscriptions, is that do will never own anything so, once the subscription end, you end up with nothing... and (in some case I heard), without your own creation because it "technically" belong to the subscription... so, NO! If they want to go that way, it would be better if after 6 months (let's say) that some DLC (3-4?) become free to own by the subscriber... or after a while you get some reward points that could be redeemed for an actual DLC. That would be more faire I believe.
      Or lese, they'd better create a universe like EVE Online.

      @finaldusk1821 Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@avollant Normally I'd be mad too, except for the fact that you can still choose to buy the DLC instead, or just make do without it.
      Making a subscription the only way to play a game or access most of its content would be underhanded. Making a subscription a customer choice, where they can still choose to purchase the product and its content outright, sounds absolutely fine to me.

    • @mzimmerman1988
      @mzimmerman1988 Před 3 měsíci +1

      I am a new player (less than a month) and I just got the subscription. The subscription solved a problem for me. I did not know if I would enjoy the game long term and as I was exploring the game I found I could not be as creative I wanted to be without the DLC. Now that I have everything unlocked, I am enjoying the game far more.
      Random idea for the subscription. Have it so that after X amount of subscription months you "unlock" a DLC permanently, but make is so that its like 2x more expensive that just buying .
      option A - Buy the expansion right away and own it forever.
      option B - pay the subscription and gain temporary access to all DLC. After X amount of months of paying for a subscription, you get a copy of some DLC's to keep forever, but you paid 2x more than if you just purchased the DLC normally .
      you would essentially be making a wager with the player. The player is saying that they think they will get bored after a month and the subscription would be very good value. You are wagering that you can keep the full game fun enough that a person won't cancel the subscription.

    I very much dislike the tech changes. This recent update has been the least fun I've had while playing vanilla stellaris in a long time. I shudder to think how this new pacing is going to affect mods that add content to the endgame like Gigastructures. The combination of generally less effective leaders and slower science makes it painful. The direction Stellaris has been heading these past few updates with all the nerfs, intentional or not, is not fun.
    Even if you play on 1x tech cost settings and on the lowest difficulty, making the tech cost 'like 3.10' You are still generating less science due to the scientist nerfs so things are still slower.

      @Nightstalker565 Před 3 měsíci +4

      The game has power crept way too much and lost a lot of the fun epic experience the game used to have when it was slower (in my humble opinion). Some players like myself want to have 10+ hour games. Some however do prefer the faster gameplay, so the best part is with the galaxy sliders you can remove the tech scaling, and then reduce tech costs by 25% to make up for the researcher nerfs, and suddenly the game will play almost exactly as before. This patch was amazing for both players who want the slower gameplay and those who want to adjust the game back to the fast style.

    • @JohnnyCash-tw8ps
      @JohnnyCash-tw8ps Před 3 měsíci

      @@Nightstalker565 I played with sliders a lot so far, and haven’t found the right balance, the removal of tech speed bonuses is a hard nerf, plus the changes to certain traditions. I just think it was too much in one patch. I can appreciate your point, I remember when they changed the empire size/tech costs in 1.0 (one planet challenge) was the rage, that needed changing, but this feels to much.

    • @GMPOFloyd
      @GMPOFloyd Před 3 měsíci +3

      @@JohnnyCash-tw8psIt was necessary, before this patch I could develop every tech before 2300. No crisis, no fallen empire and no great Khan could compete against that. And also the amount of ships in the galaxy made the game so much laggy too soon. If anything I’d say that they should add an Empire Size modifier slide bar to double it up.

    • @finaldusk1821

      Bold of you to assume everyone wants to play the game the same way you do.
      A lot of us (though certainly not all of us) would actually like to be getting new techs throughout the game, rather than maxing out in the mid-game and leaving no new stuff to unlock in a stagnant late-game.
      Having crises and awakened empires be a consistent threat rather than a consistent pushover sounds nice too.

The Paragons DLC is the most egregious example of this as all the bad things brought by it are forced on every player but everything good (or at least everything that makes the changes less bad) is hidden behind a paywall. The only way to avoid it is to play the version of the game that came out before the DLC.
