I work in an old Cotton Mill and we found an old box in a storage closet full to the brim of PB Swiss tools. we split up the tools evenly. They are probably the nicest tools I've ever handled
Oh man, now I'm gonna have to start collecting these too. A high quality tool makes everything so much easier. I had to replace a bunch of stuff in a pinch with Harbor Freight and it kills me to use them haha

I own a bunch of PB Swiss tools and enjoy them all. I have the normal length ratchet screwdriver which doesn't hold the bits and the handle on it is a great size. The PB Swiss PB 455.M
T-Handle Bit Holder Magnetic 1/4" is a wonderful tool also.
I’m one of the 500 people you mentioned but I own only 2 of the Insider 1. It’s definitely an obsession because I sometimes wanted to just collect all the color in that series.

Just a heads-up: people aren’t kidding about the vomit smell. It’s no problem if they’re kept out - it’ll slowly dissipate. But if they’re kept in closed containers (like tool drawers) that aren’t used very often, it can be awful when opening it up! Bear in mind that that doesn’t typically happen until they’re many years old.
The SwissGrip handles do not have this, and they’re my favorite shape, too.
Those acetate handles hold up very well in the long term, I have some old inherited tools that still work great. They can look a little beat up but the material overall holds up well. I prefer the Swiss Grip for comfort, but I think they'll deteriorate much faster in the long term.

Been using those Allen keys as a professional wrench for years. The paint is just paint. The tools themselves are top notch. Just don’t showcase a tool for the look until it’s been used.

I just got my PB Swiss FilmTool yesterday. Building and dismantling camera rigs will be much easier again. I used one when I used to work in Burbank, CA 5 years ago and have been using my Leatherman since. It’s not the same.

Interested in the camera tool for adjusting valves on Waukesha engines. Snap-on discontinued the older tapered marine plug screwdriver and replaced it with a useless new marine plug driver. After seeing it’s size of that thing I think it will work! Thanks for the video!

Dude you kinda got me into film a while back and now, after a year or so without uploads, you pop back into youtube just to talk about PB swiss tools. Yours is such a unique channel lol. I tried some of their allen keys on my last job and they're something else, hard to pick out a quality tool from feel alone nowadays but they really are. Glad to see you're back uploading, maybe you could do some photo stuff next?
I needed that T Handle Screwdriver driver today. I am going to order some of there tools and try them out
I love my picquic, it really is hard to beat. You can really torque down on them without fear of tool failure. I’ve got a Wera bit holder screwdriver I love but if really have to twist something it feels like it might give up, say on a tight Phillips #3. Picquic sells single and packs of bits so you can customize theirs as well.

Don’t forget the snap on has a hex nut at the bottom of the shank. So you can put a wrench on it for very tough screws, nice feature.

Nice overview! I just got the Insider 3 and am hooked! fyi: there is no "aluminium" on the speciality film tool.. the whole shank is steel, just chrome plated where it is silver..

I found this looking for the best security torx set for folding knife repair which many believe is Wiha... ? T4-t10 approximately..
I do have a Wera micro screwdriver set that stinks! I'm not sure if it's the case or the drivers. Lol
I looked at those hex wrenches but decided that the Wera versions were even fancier! Lol. The Wera hex wrenches are certainly among the finest tools I own. Also, the Wera #2 phillips are a superior driver for drywall or deck screws vs DeWalt. They literally hold the screw on with no magnetism but by perfect fit alone!
I also highly recommend Knipex\Wiha tools, specifically the Plier-wrench. It's glorious!

It's not quite as fancy as the pb swiss or wiha, but it's actually a super nice kit and the bits hold their shape well.

My go to tool is th PBSwiss 100mm racheting screwdriver. The 30mm bracketing screwdriver has too short a shaft. I have used mine as a mallet many times in a pinch.
So when you need a screwdriver for something, how long does it to take you to pick one out of your collection?
It's usually the crappy one that happens to be sitting next to me that's made in china.

I’m an HVAC/R service tech, and I’m a big Klein fan. However, I haven’t been too impressed with their screwdrivers. Their flatheads are great, but not so much with their Philips head screwdrivers as they tend to cam out really easily. I’ve been looking to PB Swiss as another option. I only know of this brand because at a job a had a few years ago, there was an old PB Swiss #3 Philips head with the classic handle in the lost and found bin. Months went by and nobody claimed it so I got to keep it. I’ve used it quite a few times at home, I gotta say that the quality, feel, fit and performance is on a whole different level. Seems like an insane amount of engineering went into this screwdriver to make it as perfect as possible. Little to no wear at the tip and zero cam out.
I don't know how I ended up here, I'm not into tools but that was a nice video!

Love PB Swiss tools. I'm surprised you don't have any swiss grip versions. I quite like the soft touch on the swiss grip models as opposed to the classic handle. Granted I do like me a classic driver but typically more for the smaller drivers like 1.5-3mm hex, t6-t20 torx, and 0-1 Phillips, but anything bigger I like a little more cushion for the pushin.
I totally agree, but at the time I thought the classic ones looked cooler. I think the classics are for fun and swiss grips for when you are doing serious business! Edit:grammer
@@DannyPops yeah that's factual. I like your little collection though. I'm currently building out my custom toolbox for mountain biking, loaded with tools from PB Swiss, Knipex, some Wera, Abbey Bike Tools, and some other high quality tools. It's literally a no corners cut dream box.
I used a Pelican 1560 case with multiple Kaizen foam layers with ABS plastic on bottom with cutouts in the foam for each of my carefully selected tools. For the bottom layer of the 1560, I used Pelican's TrekPak divider system but I modified it and cut it down to 50mm to sit at the bottom of the box where I store my bigger less used tools like Milwaukee installation driver, Abbey bearing presses w/ extractors and drifts for BB/headset/frame/shock/hubs, Abbey fork seal drivers, Abbey non chamfered fork sockets and BB sockets, Fox fork lowers tools, files, Internal routing tool, PB Swiss punches, Gerber folding saw, Knipex pipe cutter/debur tool etc.
The mid Kaizen foam layers houses my larger somewhat oftenly used tools like Mitutoyo calipers. Abbey cassette too and chain whip, Abbey pedal and 6/8mm breaker bar, large Knipex pliers and cutters, extra Wera L keys, Abbey chain tool, Abbey hanger alignment tool, etc.
The top Kaizen foam layer stores all my most commonly used tools like Wera Speed ratchets 1/4 and 3/8, Knipex pliers, Knipex needle nose, Knipex Cutix and Scissors, Knipex Super Knips, Knipex tweezers, 2x Torque wrenches, PB Swiss Pro Insider Ratchet driver, PB Swiss flat head, PB Swiss bits, Abbey rotor tool, Abbey, Ti hammer and lockring tool, Abbey multitool, Chain keeper tool, Wolftooth chain link tool, and Park Tool chain wear measurement tool, Fast Cap metric/standard 12ft tape, DT Swiss Spoke wrenches, etc.
As for the case lid, I sourced a 3mm thick sheet of carbon fiber, in which I cut and radius'd to fit and mount inside the Pelican lid with the mounting tabs...in which on one side, I mounted some of my commonly used bike setup tools (pressure gauge, shock pump, portable tire pump, etc) to the carbon fiber sheet with rare earth magnets glued and hidden on the backside of the carbon sheet and spring retention clips to mount the heavier tools...Lastly, on the other side of the lid I drilled and routed out some holes in the carbon fiber to mount 2 pouches for easy access to some commonly used miscellaneous stuff (tape, gloves, zip ties, derailleur tool, brake align/bleed, Milwaukee LED, etc) Then to top off the functionality of the lid, I took some Wera twist lock socket holders/rails and cut the individual twist lock mechanisms out and adhered them to the sides/edge of the pelican lid for secure storage, organization, and easy access to my sockets and bits.
And that's it. So in other words, not much.

No way: Nestle, UBS, Credit Suisse, Novartis, Roche, Victorinox, Rolex, Swatch Group (Omega), Richemont, ABB, Glencore, Adecco, Zurich Insurance, etc. Compared with these huge swiss companies, PB Swiss Tools is a mid-sized company.

Hi love the informative video! Question: i just want to buy one screwdriver. Which do you thick is more practical as a (non-ratcheting) main driver - in terms of comfort /torque/ ergonomics between the PB Swiss stubby 8453 and the 6460/ 6464?
I like the more practical bit carousel on the stubby and the handle seems wider, so maybe gives more torque, but maybe the 6464 would be more comfortable?
I'll probably get an extension for whichever one I buy, for hard to reach screws.

Great question! While I have the 6460, I've been wanting to try the softer 8453. I'd say go smaller and wider.

I have lots of the bits, but not impact style specifically as I'm not sure they make them. The power bits I have (torx, Phillip's, standard) are all a cut above anything you can get anywhere.

@@BarbaryStudio I have a few of those bits including the longer bits and shorter ones. They are completely awesome - specifically what I've noticed is they don't seem to wear down very easily. Any bit used on a powered screwdriver is eventually going to get worn down due heavy use - but the PB Swiss ones seem to last an extremely long time.

Ever used the Swiss Grip handles? Thoughts?
Yes, they are wonderful. I prefer them for the grip, similar to any other grippy style screwdriver. The material is very similar to the kind used in Mac Tools screwdrivers.
I LOVE the SwissGrip handle.
Unfortunately I find the handles to smell bad on both my PB Swiss tools - they're new so I assume what I consider an unpleasant smell is their vanilla stuff. The bits are utterly beautiful though.
I am here because of the ratchet screw driver. I was pretty interested. I have decided not to buy it after seeing your sincere review. Thanks for helping me save money.
1:45 You left out two important details: the tip shape is unique to PB. It is not a wedge that cams out of the screw head and it’s also chamfered for use with countersunk screws.
@@htr5372 The VSM 35601 Swiss standard? Unique was a poor word choice but I still feel it would have been worth mentioning the tip shape.
I would choose the wiha screwdriver over the pb swiss any day.
Is there a reason why you dont have any wera screwdrivers?
I have some but I don't usually prefer the large handles which seem designed for higher torque but less precision control. I have seen wiha used at Abel cine in NYC for cameras, so to each their own I guess.
@@DannyPops i do like the qualtiy of the pb swiss too but the wiha was the only one with a shaft that goes all the way back to a striking cap. Plus it's got a hexagon neck or what you call it. Those things are a must have for such expensive screwdrivers in my opinion.
But I see that not everybody need these things.

I am lucky, I suppose, that living in Switzerland myself, the PB Swiss stuff isn’t thaaaat expensive. I don’t consider $10 for a top quality driver to be in any way unreasonable. (That’s the price here for a #2 Phillips with the soft grip, $9 for the classic grip mostly shown in this video.)

pb swiss allen wrenches are awesome. when a normal consumer wants to start to slip a pb swiss key wont. i do heavy industrial. and when you buy cheap tools, they can cost you time at home.
I got fainted just by looking at Pb Swiss price tags.
I just bought the 8510.r-30 ratchet bit holder and I am extremely dissapointed. I don't know if mine is defective but there is NO magnetic aspect to the bit holder and the bit wobbles as fitment is loose and only fits about half of the bit into the holder. I know your ratcher is the multi bit version vs the santoprene handle but did you experience anything similar? Yours is magnetic right?
Hmm sounds like maybe you got a defective one. The bit holder in mine is definitely magnetic. One tool you might want to consider is a canadian PicQuic multibit tool. It's cheap and works great. I think pb swiss excels in static non-dynamic moving parts
@@dsdf_fdp1858 Mine was defective and I had it replaced! This is a high quality tool. It's a treasure of my kit now. I went and bought several of their tools shortly after. I HIGHLY recommend the mini insider stubby driver. The soft smooth rubber neo-whatever they call it feels great. I think this tools will far outlast me. ironic because I just ordered a few of the mini stubby insiders for christmas gifts yesterday.

Yes i tought the where better but after looking to other videos. Some have issue with the ergonomic handle. They also have rust problem if you work outside with rain or humidity factors.

No it’s was the wera, the wera disintegrated when it came in contact with oil and solvents, the urethane part. And in the same video he talked about an old stinky SnapnOn.

Swiss grip style are better. Pb swiss will stick into a screw sideways and not fall out. Their machining is the best I have come across.

I think you kinda missed the most important and different thing about the PB's over the rest of your collection and that would be that the PB's have a precision hollow ground tip on their slotted drivers. This to me is super important because the tip fits the slotted profile screw head much better than a wedge shaped and reduces cam out and buggering up of the screw. Very important when working with screws that will be seen and are as much a fastener as they are a design component of the product. Think guns, or architectural hardware. Pb Swiss are very good tools. Too bad they are hard to get here in the states.

Look even the best quality tool manufacturers will not appease everyone. 😜😜😜 I like Klein Tools, Wiha, and KTC Nepros. But even these brands have certain tools/items that may or may not be liked by me. 😜
