Great one!! I would like to suggest you to place rather fix another plane rectangular frame with wire on the top and the sides to get another layer of wire that prevents them from escaping and protects your feathered friends from the wild predators near your locality like cats, eagles, etc.

It's cool you and your mum could build the cage together. What size is your cage and how did you determine how many can live in it?
I don't really remember the size 😆 but it's important that they have space to spread wings, jump from perch to perch, and they also need lots of perches so they don't fight for their spot 😀

What wire do you use? I read that you can only use stainless steel wire, but where I live is so expensive that for the small amount of wire I will use it won't be worth it for price.

It's always better to have wide and long cage 😃 but height is also important so the bird feels safe!

Well "the tray" is not finished yet, but it will be made so I can slide it out and clean 😀

I put paper on the bottom, after picking up the paper I vacuum the seeds, of course i let birds out during the cleaning
