So I just tried replacing my shower arm in my mobile home shower. Similar set up. Pipe located in the drywall above tub insert. It’s rusted in there and I tried spraying pb blaster and thought I almost had it out with my grips. But then I noticed the entire outer pipe was turning too and heard a squeak and the sound of something fall to the floor behind the wall! What did I do? Isn’t it attached to a copper pipe back there? The drywall behind it is located right above the water heater, so it’d be a bitch to fix if I broke it and it leaks. Scared to turn on my water now…. Help!!

You will need to go into the water heater area to see what your up against. If it's copper pipe and you bent it . Get back with me.

I noticed recently that after taking a shower that there is a puddle on the floor behind/next to my shower. Now my sink is next to/ behind my shower only separated by a thin dividing wall. The pipe coming out of the wall is loose and I'm thinking this is the culprit. I initially thought that it was the shower drain so I caulked around it, my question is how likely is it that the drain pipe is damaged?

The joke on construction sites is that stuff goes downhill and paydays n Friday. So a leak on your drain would go down. If your shower was elevated maybe. I would guess a leak around a supply line or a leak around the handle leaking inside the wall then out on the floor. Guessing without seeing. Hope that helps.

@@StraightArrowRepair Is there a particular way to tighten up the connection coming out of the wall?

@@LeonardVidaureAKASkinner Teflon / pipe dope if you don't want to scratch the neck they make channel locs and pipe wrenches with no teeth. Or you could wrap the neck with a wash rag the tighten with regular wrench.

I wish that there was a way to send pictures to give you a better idea of what I'm trying to explain.
