      Its great too, altough to achieve the perfect temperature (between 0c to 2c max) the glass, the gin and the vermouth must have been cold AND the martini must be prepared mixed, NEVER EVER shaken.
      I mean, it have always worked for me at work.

      Barbara Cunningham that’s actually what is known as a “neat” martini. Ice adds dilution as it melts during stirring, so you’re drinking your martinis a bit stronger than most of us!

    @bf13137 Před 6 lety +15

    It's so important to drink what you like, but I would never teach someone that a martini should be shaken. If you do, double-strain. No one wants a bunch of ice chips in their martini, which after about 45 seconds, melt and leave the drink a watery mess.

  • @kuhnhan
    @kuhnhan Před 2 lety +2

    There are only a few types of martinis. Gin is the real martini, if you don't like the taste of gin, then a martini is probably not for you. A vodka martini is still a martini, but not traditional. Either way, gin or vodka, and vermouth. Too much more than that and it ceases to be a martini and becomes something else. A cocktail is defined by the ingredients, not the glass it is served it. As for gin or vodka and no vermouth? Not a martini, just a shot of booze in a martini glass. That's like pouring tequila into a glass, adding nothing else, and then calling it a margarita.

      @MrMortsnerd Před 4 lety

      @@The_Sweet_Life_99999 Pre-1950s, all Martini's were shaken. Stirred came much later, so if you want to be historically accurate, you should use a shaker. The cloudiness of the shaken gin disappears in about 45 seconds, anyway, so in less than a minute it appears as clear a beverage as a stirred (finicky IMO) Martini.
