What a game that was in Calgary, AB. This video contains the full 3-on-3 overtime between Canada and the United States in the 2021 IIHF Womens World Hockey Championship.
This video also includes the winning teams anthem, the celebration of the winning team , and the closing of the women's world championship in Alberta
NOTE: this was being screen recorded on my phone, and my phone or the site glitched a few times throughout the video. I was going to edit it out but it's so little and few of them that I decided not to worry about it. so I hope you guys don't mind that much. I tried fixing it asap!!

Hockey games are so often decided on small things. 9:54, Knight made a nice play, but she pushed the puck just a little to hard. Otherwise, it would have been a dangerous 2 against 1. Larocque reacted perfectly and we know the end.

Congratulations Team Canada, great shot - unfortunately it bounced out, but the buzzer sounded soon after. How many of us replayed that shot and the buzzer going off over and over? Wud have been better if it had stayed in the net. The Team represented Canada well and will be treated as heroes. Our passion, our sport. True Canadian pride from right here in T-Dot. Congrats Team.

These days in women's hockey the US is the favorites. consistent good team play with excellent goal tending. the advantage is in speed. Don't worry. The girls will figure it out. The Russians did this to us back in the day. Quick feet and shear skill to combat the smash bash Canadian game.... the guys adapted. the girls will to. it's our game. however. it's great to have some heavy competition as no fun in winning all the time. got to have someone that can beat you. Then the game is more fun and there is always a quest to be better. Bring on the quality competition. Hopeful that other nations get into the game more. some of these hockey countries like Sweden, Finland, the girls must play with boys out on the natural ice for fun like they do here.
I respect many teams in men's hockey but the Russians will always keep me on the edge my seat. The only other team that can often put 4 lines of good players. most have 1 or 2 killer lines. But this earns them respect and can make them damn dangerous. Which is great. Love the competition. Losing is not a big deal when you have quality opponents. Never bothers me to lose to Russia. Usually those games are never safe. never ever safe. lol. 5 goal leads are not safe.

I hate to see the American girls getting silver and acting like somebody just died. Like many games between the Canadians and Americans, it is very close and can easily go either way. Proud of our Canadian girls, just wish there wasn't SO much emphasis on it being "gold or nothing". Many young women train like hell to represent their country, and never even see the playoffs. I hope there is a big get together where they can all hang out together and share the experience over a beer or what not, but I doubt that is "politically correct"? Perhaps someday!?
The problem is they are literally brain washed into believing they are the best. This defines US athletes in general and explains why many are bad losers. However... the US was the favorite here going into the game. This is girls hockey not boys hockey. In girls hockey the Americans are a better team in recent years. Something which apparently is changing. Nice to see. Canada adapting. Getting better again. :) love good competition. Just wish they were better sports about it. It's a game. Winning is not everything. See team Canada losing in the olympics to the Swiss.... come on... did anybody not have a fell good moment for the swiss goalie. That miracle on ice did wonders for the game in Switzerland and for us it was just one game where the hot goalie got you. shit happens.
Probably right, US conditioned to feel that getting 2nd place is being the first losers. However, go back and look at how the Canadian women act after losing to USA. No tears? Wait... there were tears. Probably just hurts to loose in a championship game.
Thats the thing though when u play for gold if you play in the game you dont feel like you win silver it feels more like you lose the gold medal

Why did they keep playing? That was clearly a take a look moment. what do you do if for some reason the US scores while you are screwing around. That was a serious mistake by the IIHF to continue play.
Take a look moment for sure, but they prob didn't wanna stop play in case it wasn't in, so they just quickly took a look I guess and determined it. Refs didn't see it so they wouldn't blow whistle to stop play
