Homemade Maple Syrup

It drives me nuts when I go to grab something only to find an empty box or bottle. I try to keep some maple flavoring on hand so I can quickly make syrup (5 min). And this syrup is tastier than the stuff you buy in the store, a lot more economical, and way less ingredients!

1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon imitation maple extract
Bring water and sugars to a boil, careful not to let it boil over. Turn off the heat and add in the maple flavoring.
