  • Tony talks about the different Firewire boards he's been shredding lately.
Tony's quiver is stacked - he's got everything from high performance thrusters to big logs. Lately though, he's been switching things up by riding different constructions.
He started out on a 5'11 Cymatic in LFT construction. It was a tank that liked steep, hollow waves, but was a bit stiff for everyday surf. He ended up snapping it clean in half!
So he replaced it with a 5'9 Cymatic in Volcanic construction. Right away he noticed it was more loose and playful. The Volcanic version floats better and has more spring out of turns. Now he can shred it in anything from good knee high beach break to pumping head high waves.
It's wild how much the construction changes the feel of these boards! Tony can rip way more surf spots now that he's got the best of both worlds in his quiver. We talk about some other shapes and builds he's excited to try next - maybe even a crazy step up log!
