Norway honestly has some of the most underrated music ever!
On behalf of 50% of the population in Hamar, I thank you for these kind words. But for us norwegians this song is not intended for amusing entertainment - we are actually looking for this dude that disappeared last wednesday!
In USA they use milk cartoons to search for lost ones, but in Norway we write songs and broadcast them on the radio to spread the message. I must admit we're losing hope in finding him, since the songwriter actually forgot to describe his appearance and only focused on how harmless and kind he is/was. That description fits most norwegian men, so it's like looking for a needle in a pincushion.
The songwriter also forgot to mention the date he disappeared, so all we know is that it happened on a wednesday few weeks ago. We don't even know which city, but I keep my eyes open every day while taking a walk with my shadow and imaginary dog.
Halle Hamar hahaha xD
Songs are everywhere, but this one feels like a warm coat on a cold day.
A
Music that hits the soul seem to transcend nationality, race, class any social structure. This is one of those songs to me, universal language performed by masters
"He would never be foolish and lie about it now." My favorite line.
just discovered this band, the first song i heard was "Lover, where do you live,, and i literally cried.
and her voice ! is beautiful!
Ahhh Norway, my favourite land!!!
So LUCKY
@@Mistersocksssssss prettiest place on earth.
Velkommen tilbake!
Welcome to the Land of Vikings ;)
and guess what!! we felt in love, and we re gonna marry soon
It must be something in the water. These Scandinavian dudes are sure impressive.💚
These ladies/guys just opened up for Of Monsters and Men in Toronto at Massey Hall and they just blew me away! They are so much better live but because I can't listen to them live every day recording's will have to do. If you get a chance to see these guys live, please do! Her voice is unbelievable! So much control.
Håvik singing with her soul& the band tight ❤️🔥🌹💎🌅💎💎🇫🇮
This is simply ADDICTIVE.
I can't stop listening to this song.
Obsessive. Years later I'm still addicted. New to me.... Balthazar / the man who owns the place. Check it
All five Nordic nations have phenomenal artists !
Highasakite - the best and most innovative band right know
To all you technical people out there: you cant explain something that is spiritual with anything physical that is inpossible. you have to choose to let it all go and be possible. then you can begin to see why the physical changes happen when you apply the mental and/or spiritual. like when you hear this music. you feel great.
It's been years since I heard an awesome song. But thanks to this one, now I have a recent one.
The lyrics, the music, her voice... everything. This is just amazing.
The first time I saw Highasakite perform was when they opened for OMAM back in March in NYC, I was completely mesmerized from the beginning. Ingrid's voice is captivating. Had to see them again in June. If you ever have a chance to see them live, do it! And of course, OMAM were just as incredible.
Cant belive this piece of GOLD hasnt gotten more views..
Saw these guys as a supporting act live on Saturday, and to be honest I think they were the highlight of the evening. I mean Of Monsters and Men were amazing, but I already knew that. I hadn't even heard of Highasakite, and I'm so glad I have now.
Kudos also to whoever did the lighting though. It made an awesome atmosphere.
+Barney Harris saw them on the 20th of November in Bristol and I have never loved a supporting act so much
+Barney Harris I was supposed to go for that show! O2 Academy in London right? Something came up at the last minute unfortunately, but I am still grateful since I was introduced to this band after seeing the line-up.
***** Nah, that was the week before. I went to the Lincoln showing
+Barney Harris The lighting designer for their live shows is Ingrid Hos and she does an excellent job (tours with them)
I discovered Helene on Aha Mtv Umplugged , with the great song The sun always shines on TV ... beautiful voice and original style , love her .
My thoughts on meaning...The progression of the lyrics seems to point to trust, skepticism and curiosity.
1) He would NEVER do graffiti...(Trust)
2) But then again "He would NEVER be caught vandalizing" (Skepticism)
3) Hmmm..."No one has seen or heard from him since last Wednesday" (Curiosity)
Personal example
1) "He would NEVER bring a gun to our home..."
2) But if he did "He wouldn't be so foolish to lie about it now" (personal validation)
3) Hmmm..."No one has seen or heard from him since last Wednesday" (Curiosity
The gun seems to have been a point of contention in their relationship. His lack foolishness is not credit to his own character but in her anger attributing a character she hopes he has(he better not!)
"Hold me forward...call me forward"...her trust dwindles. You can do things your way, but it's not the only way.
There seems to be an air of mystery surrounding this man but the story teller seems to be the one confused about his motives. Feels she can trust/knows him and what he would or wouldn't do. Is he good or up to no good? Is this the man I know?...the only confirmation to her suspicions is...
"No one has seen or heard from him since last Wednesday"
He seems to have been dealing with an inner turmoil that he's yet to express to her. At the end of the video we see that he goes back to her in plain view of what/who he is after what seems to be deliberate contemplation...she accepts him for who she now sees he is. But all may not be behind him as the story continues with the other masked men coming up the elevator...exposing the depth of his escapades since last Wednesday
Thanks JJJ radio in Australia for introducing me to more great Norwegian music!
THIS SONG IS GOLD OKAY. So gold.
OMG I LITERALLY JUST REALISED THAT THE BAND'S NAME IS HIGH-AS-A-KITE. i have been listening to this song non stop for like a week now. omg . how am I so stupid HAHAHA xoxo
LOL I just discovered them and thought it was a Nordic word or something! Thanks for saving me further embarrassment.
you missed an opportunity to say "I've been listening to this song nonstop since last wednesday."
I read this comment several times...then it hit me that you said the title of the song, cause the funny part is, i really have been listening to this since last Wednesday XD
OH....... my god
I did the exact same thing
How gorgeous is this piece?
Just saw them in Boston and they blew me away! Such good energy!
Yoyo! Me too! Loved their set!
Yoyo!
Same! Opening for Of Monsters and Men? Seemed like they didn't have much room or equipment to work with but they really blew me away. They have so much heart!
***** Orpheum on May 8th.
Not that I know of. But I'm so excited because they're coming back to Boston for Boston Calling!
such memories. I was there too. just as fantastic of a voice as Nanna.
I discovered Highasakite when was in holidays in Norway, June 2015. I was at Alesund festival with 3 friends we was the only foreigners , norwegians was so friendly with us and tell us to wait for Highsakite and it was so magical to saw this group in a beautiful city like Alesund during summer . I think it is one of my best memories from our roadtrip in Norway. So much love for Norways , NOrwegians. They have a lot of talented artists like Sigrid, Aurora, Emilie Nicolas.
Hehe
Vocalist from this band is from Ålesund aswell is Sigrid.

I got chills listening to your song. A song hasn't done that to me in quite some time. Well done.
Spring is here and this is the song for its arrival
I hope they found the bloke.
Not if it stops them writing
He’d in Trouble-Song.
But it gross back?
This song is just incredible
With this awesome great song and music plus the rest of the new music album, this is now the Number 1 in Norway in its first week. It is so really fantastic that this is the most downloaded, streamed and listened music album the last week in Norway. Totally new type of norwegian music that rules much.
Just saw them opening for Of Monsters and Men. Both bands were absolutely on point. Scandinavia/Iceland really do seem to have a ton of amazing bands.
This guys were fantastic live!
Truly one of the best songs made lately.
amazing song that I can listen to over and over!
I love Highasakite, it's a great band
Just checking in to claim the space between now and the last time I checked in - at ya. Great tune needs to get revolutionised into one banging dance anthem oh yes 🙌
Gotta love those vikings! First they invaded Southern Italy and turned Naples blond. And now they invade modern consciousness and turn it gold.
Cant belive your comment hasnt got a billion likes, hehe. Best I have read in a while 👍

Música tão perfeita e completa, totalmente amando ela...
Thanks JJJ for letting me find this :D
Love this track, can see this going far. Finally some good music.
can a person die from the chills! so intense
In Norway we call it hypothermia. And yes, you can die from it, specially in the wintertime. Actually I had a close call myself just a few days ago, when temptation got the better of me, and I licked that inviting, innocent looking angel sparkling frost rime off a light pole... Didn't actually count as licking, because the tongue more or less snapped to the pole just like a magnet.
Got stuck, all by myself in the middle of the night! The hours passed and the night only grew colder. But luckily I came to remember that when this last happened to me, couple of weeks ago, I saved myself by pissing in my glove and pouring it on my tongue. Instant release and instant relief - works all the time, you just need to keep your head cool (easy when you're freezing) and wait for next time the pee-pee train comes along :)
Halle Hamar wow dude you are hilarious X3 Havent laughed that hard in yearsXDD Live in Norway myself and yesterday i actually saw a kid stuck to a pole;-; Poor guy xD
Thanks! Glad to put a smile on your face :)
I love this song!
This is soo beautiful
awesome, amazing, soulful!!
Yay! Finaly a vid of this....
Love It!
I'm pretty picky about the pop I like, but there's something here I dig.
I saw this band open up for OMAM in NYC at Beacon theatre, missed them at Kings theatre in Brooklyn next night (I was so pissed). I was blown away first time seeing them, amazing though!! My buddy told me about them who worked for OMAM at the time and told me not to miss them. .I'm so glad I didn't the first time, so awesome!!!! Personally, I think the full length I bought from them is better than this video. I hope good things for this band, I wanna hear more from them.
Great song.
Legend has it they still can’t find this guy.
A friend just showed me this. I'm in love :)
If your fingers are indicating his size, then I'm not impressed! But congrats anyroad for finding love :)
