    Very nice speech by great Rajiv malhotra ji . But on FDI in India has the connection with Christian conversion In India , it’s like more FDI more will be conversion. MNC In India just doing the same , funding Christian missionaries, in the past late mr Rajiv Dixit and swami Ramdev has raised these issue of connection between FDI and Christian conversion in India. FDI is in someway affecting ethnic religion in India .

    Namo namah shri guru Rajiv ji,
    I would like to suggest to S.S .Ravi .S ji team to please use his wealth , clout and power to buy loads of Shri guru Rajiv ji's book ...appoint scholars to translate them in regional languages of that particular area, make small small sub chapters from main books , teach the in schools and distribute many copies of it at minimal cost to everybody visiting temple for darshan on daily or weekly or monthly basis. They can have tie ups with various good reliable publication houses like Geetapress etc.
    This way just as we donate or sell saplings of any plant to spread green awareness among our society ...in the same way ...we can give seeds of gyan to society which will then get implanted in their mind and which will later grow into a fruitfull tree which will benefit to the whole world.
    The distinctiveness and uniqueness as mentioned by Guru Rajiv ji should be crystal clear in every literature...WE ALL ARE NOT SAME and the other one MUTUAL RESPECT.
    Dhanywaad.

      I am a westerner but I fully support what Dr. Malhotra is saying here... and elsewhere. In response to your comment, I just want to say that even the work 'knowledge' is problematic because the west would agree fully with you. The question is, "What is knowledge" and the west tends to the opinion that only that which has been measured and 'laboratory' tested qualifies as known. But even Einstein said that even mathematical deduction may be worth little if they do not reflect real human experience. I am of the opinion that knowing is not handed down by experts but is at base a subjective assurance and ultimately known by (proper) introspective paths and practices. Unfortunately, and tragically, this kind of knowledge is not well enough appreciated in the west. So I would say, yes, one needs to know, but knowing is not known because an expert told me. If I do not know because I actually know, or, conversely, if I only know because I am told such and such, I cannot say "I know". Nevertheless, knowing is possible.

    • @sadenb
      @sadenb Před 7 lety +3

    It isn't just new organizations like AOL that don't divide between caste. These people may have made it part of their guiding philosophy, but guru systems in general don't have this at all. My mother's Gurudev, who came from the so-called brahmin family, was a sanyasi. He came in the dreams of a person who wasn't a member of a so-called brahmin family. that person left his home and became a sanyasi. Now, when Gurudev has left his body, this is the man running his ashram. So it's completely a wrong idea that Gurudevs are differentiating between people based on the modern-day caste system. Yes, new organizations like AOL make you pay through your nose for things that belong in your tradition that these other small Gurus dont do. But they're certainly not any different in terms of how the dharma is practiced.
    Just thought I'd add this. In Singapore, I found that people openly have a lower rate for locals and higher rate for foreigners, wherever you go. Our gurus should adopt this, rather than fleecing us, because the exchange difference is so huge that foreigners can afford all this much better than we can. This limits our ability to learn these things that actually belong to us.

      +Soccer Club but you shouldn't be carried over by the relatively new term called Hindu since this dharmic civilization built its society and culture around Sanatana Dharma thousands of years before that. In other words, since the word Hindu is relatively new does not mean that this ancient culture which was built around laws of nature is also new. Hindu/vedic "darshan" (i don't like to use the west created word "philosophy") is nothing but vision or revelation of nature of ultiamte, everybody has to not only know but also experience. It is a major difference between western term "philosophy" and sanskrit term "darshan". There is no ego in Darshan

      There are sectors in the west that appreciate and struggle to respect, honour and learn from both China and India. I believe you can make very significant inroads and bless the west with many insights. I do some work in cross cultural fields and science and with quite a few researchers from many parts of Asia. One of the big hurdles that has to be overcome is the lack of appreciation of tradition Asian insights by Asians themselves. Too many are rushing to the west for funding and prestige in those circles. I am trying to encourage such people to develop more important innovations based on their traditional insights and practices. So, while I agree that the west still 'colonialists', now through academics and western methods, I strongly suggest that you don't get too bitter, but also that you find out how to encourage your up and coming students at all levels to extrapolate out of your traditions and based on your own great authorities. God knows the West needs you to stand up for these traditions. Generally speaking, I am tired of seeing your treasures commodified for western market. Go for it... peacefully.

    In Hinduism and Buddhism there is the Guru disciple relationship. Realization can only be transmitted through the students devotion to the teacher. The student becomes open and ready. You can learn all the techniques and book knowledge but the essence is lost. The essence is most important for it to click. Otherwise meditation will merely remain a relaxation technique, and not something that creates true benefit. Therefore, you can try to digest, but you will have indigestion and in the case of more esoteric practices, it can be downright fatal if practiced without proper guidance and permission from the teachers.

    • @indianmilitary
      @indianmilitary Před 9 lety +2

      motonut but let us not forget who we really are (consciousness) and our purpose here (world). We are conscious beings having human experience here not the other way round. Moksha is NOT compulsory in Hinduism but in Jainism it is and that is the reason Jainism is not popular in India.. It defeats the whole purpose. We are here to experience everything. Once we are done with it after several re-incarnations, we can go for moksha. There are different ways to achieve it. I don't want to go into it but the point is we should not forget our purpose here in the material realm. But having said that we also should not exploit mother earth like we are doing now. That is why it is called as Kali Yuga. We have become too superficial and stupid forgetting who we really are (conscious beings) and our subtle purpose of experiencing nature in human form.

    • @shreedevi2005
      @shreedevi2005 Před 9 lety

      Yes, I agree with you. We are consciousness, but moha and maya have made us lose touch with that true nature. We have a choice, either remain in moha and maya or strive to go beyond and connect with the innate nature. There should not be any compulsion, it is a choice we make. :-)

    Yog is not translated but it's certainly digested. Bcz two things Yog and Adhyatmavidya is presented as Yoga and meditation in popular culture. So they completely removed the real Yoga and branded "UPA Yoga" as Yoga. And after learning real Yoga they made Meditation a scientific field and now there is a competition of stealing Indian knowledge similarly like the Age of Discovery period of Europe. They are learning all aspects of Yoga, Tantra, Yantra etc. and then rebranding it giving it a new name. Then trademarks it. Calling it a new invention. Just like sudden Inventions of Newton, Leibniz etc.

  • @thearyaflix8700
    @thearyaflix8700 Před 3 lety

    40:35 For example Bhagavad-Gita should not be disconnected with Krishna. But when i see transcendentalism. They say that it emerged from English and German Romanticism and influenced by Vedanta, Upanishads and Bhagavad Gita. So this is wrong. You cannot separate Bhagavad-Gita from Krishna and we should take actions against them. Or we should make it such that there is no way that you could transcend to a higher level without the help of Guru. And it is true. Only a realized or atleast very knowledgeable Guru coming from a precious tradition can be a link for common people like us to transcend. So this Guru-Shishya tradition needs to be popularized and alongwith that popularize which traditions are authentic. Bcz anyway no amount of books or so called breathing techniques will lead them anywhere. Gurus are the Atman of our tradition. We have to make sure that they do not digest our Gurus

    If human are divine then why so much evil in the world?

    • @muskannm1342
      @muskannm1342 Před 4 lety +5

      Ego , dilusion of separateness , also he says originally divine , that means originated from divine not that humans are divine are to be worshipped as a authority ( in Dharma divine is not authority but start , existence and end to everything ) , when one pursues his origin ( divine ) , he detoxifies and purifies his karma. There is something called Adharma ( not non -religious or creed but no ethics , righteousness , virtue ) that exist in world and is being talked about in Mahabharata and Gita , to fight Adharma is part of our pursuit towards our origin .
      There is also law of karma which says what one does have to pay consequences , thus no one is free from their karma .
      The questions of evil has many parts and arguements to it from various school of thought and if you want to gain some depth here I would suggest you to study different paradigms in depth .

    Listen to what he says from 18:41-21:40
    Rajiv Malhotra rejects the christian idea of ORIGINAL SIN in ALL Humans (Regardless of Nationality,Religion,caste creed sex) and says - the Good news of Hinduism is" we are ORIGINALLY DIVINE" .
    If we are DIVINE as he says- there should be no courts, police, lawyers etc..we have them,because there is ORIGINAL SIN IN ALL HUMANS and Crime (Theft,Corruption,Rape,Murder,etc.) is increasing at an alarming rate every day, Unless blind, he should witness these in society. I don't understand why Humans being DIVINE (as said by Malhotra )commit crimes.
    The BIBLE says Romans 3:23
    FOR ALL HAVE SINNED AMD COME SHORT OF GLORY OF GOD
    2.JESUS SAID SIN ORIGINATES in Human Heart .
    Mark 7:21-23
    For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
    22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
    23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
    Its absolutely True..Bible also says in JEREMIAH 17:9
    The HEART is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
    3.A sinner cannot save himself or qualify to save other sinner.
    HENCE WE NEED A SINLESS SAVIOUR
    4.JESUS did not come into this world to establish a religion, but to give a pay for our SINS, and save us from its punishment (ETERNAL HELL).
    The name JESUS means as in Mathew 1:21And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS : for he shall save his people from their SINS.

      Your faith gave u confidence that ur on the right track and I understand that. You need your faith. Maybe you'll crumble without it. Some people have doubts and it works for them. They are unafraid of the things you may fear like going to hell and they are not afraid of allowing their curiosity to guide them so they seek answers through different philosophies and yoga. Feel free to let your faith guide you.. however, let others seek the divine in their own way. Don't impose it on others just because it's on ur scripture.

    There are Christians with deep understanding and deep love. There are Christians who understand little and are full of hatred. Just so there are Hindus with deep understanding and love - and there are those full of hatred. These names are merely the clothes we put on over our other clothes (our bodies).
    Seek love - not hatred and division. This is the message of Jesus, of Buddha and the true Hindu masters and saints.
    Brothers and sisters which way will you choose? The way to love and peace. Or the way to more suffering division and hatred?
    The earth and creatures are screaming in pain in the midst of a world which could and should be beautiful. Global warming is here.
    There is no time to waste.

      Shriram Bhandari Oh dear. And bad poetry no doubt! I am real and have a heart - and so you do you. Isn't caring for that what is most important? But lets lighten up. It makes life more fulfilling and enjoyable methinks! Its such a pity sometimes I feel to engage in these quick comments with others on the internet without meeting them and knowing them more -as if we really know each other. When I meet people in the flesh I almost always enjoy the sharing but this kind of communication is so limited and can lead to all kinds of misunderstanding . I wish you all good things and hope you feel happy in your heart as I am sure you wish the same for me.

    Is there really need for Indians to protect Hinduism? I sense a fear in this lecture that we as Indians need to mind that west (or any non-indians) is stealing the knowledge from our scriptures.
    I find this to be a little unnecessary. Because in this process of protecting it, I feel we are alienating ourselves from the west (and other parts of the world). These days we see more and more non-indians getting attracted to the Yoga/Gita Knowledge/Sanadhana Dharma. This is a positive thing. I consider that they are coming back because of their samskaras. So It would be better if we encourage it by NOT claiming it as Indian assets.
    Here are my points why I disagree with this 'protecting' approach.
    1. As I understand this knowledge is universal. It belongs to all god beings.
    2. Re-incarnation of souls must have happened for millions of years already. If so, those who are non-Indians today could have been Indians in their earlier birth. Right?.
    3. The knowledge that we have in our scriptures came when Rishi's connected with the source/Brahman/self/god. Is it not possible some of the west scholars did reach the Samadhi once in a while in their life without their knowledge?. So what they are saying could've come from that Samadhi. So claiming that the universal knowledge belongs to Indians sounds illogical to me.
    4. However the knowledge is spread, no one can deny that it was said already in Indian scriptures. The truth will prevail no matter what.
    So I don't really think we should fear that the knowledge is getting stolen or a need to protect it like materials.
    Having said the above, I DO feel the responsibility as an Indian to make sure the due credit is given to our Scriptures and to the origin (India). But I think it has to be done without alienating the rest of the world.

      Raam Ramachandran I recently have come to know about Mr Rajiv Malhotra's work. I am a novice in this matter. So far with whatever I have listened, I really respect him and his work. My comment is in no way disrespectful.
      Who knows? My argument could completely be wrong and I may realize it later. It just occurred to me when listening to this speech. Hence commented to get it validated.

      Raam Ramachandran just think about the consequences.They have tried to patent Basmati and many other things which belong to india.If they had not been been stopped indian farmers would have to pay them royalty for selling basmati by the name basmati.
      sometimes we have to keep aside the illogical logics like if half empty glass is half filled ,fully empty glass is fully filled.

      sanjay dangwal I don't agree with any company/goverment that does 'piracy of emerging nations' indigenous products'. I guess this case got settled 15 years ago amicably.
      I don't understand your comment. In what way you are relating 'Basmati' patent to my question about protective attitude of Hinduism?

    • @sanjaydangwal03
      @sanjaydangwal03 Před 9 lety +4

      Raam Ramachandran the gist of what I say is that ,we should fight for what is ours.I know in indian society rice and religion are totally different,if u read about the role of church in European history ,you'll see church has played a dominant role,and same is Muslim history(eg.Caliph).
      Church has ruled and if some monarch tried to defy church they were dethroned.Mr. rajiv is looking at the scenario with western perspective ,and he can clearly see that west is appropriating our ideas and giving them a western name .what would you feel if you have to seek the permission of some European company for running a yoga training centre ,yoga which is actually yours.

    • @helloraam
      @helloraam Před 8 lety

      +Latha Baradwaj I understand the concern and some people in West mentality to patent under different name without giving credit to the source. What India gave and giving to the world cannot be compiled and patented. This will continue to happen as long as this world is materialistic. This police work will not do much. Also this is an unnecessary fear. How ever they copy, fuse, infer knowledge from Hindu Dharma, I believe it can only bring people closer to Yoga, Meditation and the knowledge filled Upanishads and other literature.
      Rather our focus should be to spread the knowledge. If that means patenting some aspects then we should do it by all means. Some people are materialistic they will go whatever the distance it takes to make money without worrying about ethics. There are worst businessmen in this world who do more harm with their business. If some businessman appropriates something from Hindu Dharma to make money then he will reap his (good or bad) karma duly but he/she cannot do harm to people.
      So I still stick by my 4 points mentioned in my earlier comment.

      Buddha himself declared he was Brahmin by varna, though he was Kshatriya by jati. Read his original statements, where he claims himself to be the reincarnation of Ram. You are misguided and full of hate based on propaganda that was fed to you by the West. Your suffer from a colonialized enslaved mindset and stockholm syndrome.
