I think Jayco have just been going through the owners groups on facebook and applying all our mods as updates, but good on them for doing so, this is what a heap of us want!
It's great to see Jayco incorporating some of these mods. It's easy to say they haven't changed much, however there have been a lot of improvements over the years 👍
great review! love the colour, hate the profile which reminds me of our 1980 jayco songbird - "brick on wheels". surprised they still have the oversize accessories they still install like the powerpoints with spacers (there is room in the cabinets to flushmount - noggin to hit your knee on ), outdoor "floodlight" (no practical use without dimming - had to change) , radio you bump ON all the time at the door (had to move), water and power at the sink within 50mm of each other (had to change) . there are so many fine tunes that haven't been implemented here since and before our 2016 swan OB except some cabinets. Also noticed the buffet is smaller and not full length and height of the seat it backs, no outdoor speakers; its a fraction of the late 201X models. Less for more $ in my book and won't upgrade - love the colour
It's actually interesting how many things remain the same after all these years. It's great as it ensures parts are readily available for a lot of models. There are probably a few items which could be updated, especially inside. I agree with the outside light also. Now that the tri colour lights and dimming is now so popular a new fitting would improve this area greatly.
Also the buffets have changed a bit. Around 2021 they shrunk down a bit, I'm assuming so they weren't so bulky. I'd actually guess you could probably store as much in them as the older styles as we have a lot of wasted space in each of ours. The high drawers I'm not too sure how effective they would be, however probably quite good for storing more bulky things perhaps 🤔
@@adamads7004 I initially thought this also but the more I worked through it, it will probably be a good solution. In one way it's making it a bit easier to maintain and lessening issues. I think it's just how you setup that large storage box. I'm keen to see how people set these up.
It's huge and they are running out of room. I might try to do a walk around of the actual showroom, spares shop etc down the track. Many don't realise how much is there. They also do a lot of things such as the weekend away we had recently that many other dealers don't do for their customers. It's all very cool 👌
I noticed the eye let's for the roof alignment, which you do not talk about. I have a 2011 jayco hawk outback and I have put a a/c unit for travelling in hot climate's, so I get a good night sleep.
I thought it would be a great opportunity to cover off a few improvements over the years. The new colour and body style makes 2024 quite noticeable however a lot has been changed over the past few years, especially the 2022 update.
I'd really like to do a few other products. Actually, we tagged along to an off-grid customer appreciation weekend they put on. I was amazed how many Silver lines were there. I like making videos here and there, so we will see what happens, for now I've got to find and clean annoying dust spot I have inside my camera or lense 😉🫣
It's amazing how the colour works in the end. On paper it doesn't sound too great but it actually suits the Outback range. I feel the improvements really help the camper range also, addressing a few areas that needed updating etc.
Hi! Really enjoyed your review. You did a realliy great description of all the features. Would love you to do a review on the new Penguin. Our current Penguin is coming up for renewal. All the best. Michael
Great video. Very detailed. Jayco should use this as their promo video. I'm still on the fence with the colour and so much better with those internal handles than the push buttons. What did you think of the different size drawers in the buffet.
The drawers have actually been like that for a while now. I'm not sure. One drawer could work quite well like that. I'd probably like to see two smaller drawers above. Being an Architect, I'm a huge fan of shorter height drawers for storage. Otherwise I think you could probably get it all working well. I'm actually really liking the colour the more I see it. It's a nice change 👍
Any tip of how to pack it down in rain or early morning when there are lots of water on the canvas? I do weekend camping often and don't want to set it up to dry after getting home. During holidays, I travel everyday and really want to get everything packed up early in the morning and hit the road. The rain fly seems a little bit more complicated to setup.
I'm going to suggest this as I'm actually quite interested in that style of camper at the moment. The Cross Trak, even though it's larger has also just had a full update. I will see what I can organise 👍
I love the campers, they are such a great option. It's hard to convey how bright and airy they are on camera. Very easy to setup and all these new inclusions make them very practical 👍
It still has the fold down flap 😆 but the front box I think will work really well. It took a little bit to adjust to it when I saw photos last year but the squared up approach is actually quite functional 👍
G'day mate own a jayco hawk 2019 I want to upgrade my bedfloors from plywood to the new white floor used in the new swan camper does anyone know what material they are using in new swan for the beds
With the trouble people have with the manual winding mechanism why haven’t Jayco done the electric lift setup instead, and why haven’t they included the heavier canvas material all the way around instead of the thin canvas, makes no sense to me AND have they improved the strength of the door hinges??? Great job tho Vaughan
I would say price and generally it's quite reliable. A lot of the issues stem from people leaving the cables loose while in transit after winding down. If you wind up just a few clicks to put a bit of tension on a lot of issues can be avoided and you would rarely hear of a problem. I don't see why it couldn't be offered as an option although with any new addition like this, the manufacturer would need to be really comfortable with it's reliability.
I would normally smooth that out but honestly did not notice the bunching. I actually really liked the thicker fabric however. The Olive Green and Khaki works really well, I wasn't a fan initially but it's really grown on me now I've seen a few 👍
This is always a topic of discussion, I guess if it opened the other way it would not work that well inside. The old double doors worked well. I do wonder if the drawers would work better on the other side closest to the outside?
Jayco lists the price from $37,795. Most would add a few accessories such as bed flies, awning etc. I highly recommend the drop down picnic table plus plus the 12v pump, solar etc if you are planning on heading off-grid 👍

Great video Vaughan and well done Jayco Newcastle for their help.
Thanks Peter. I wasn't sure what they would say but it was no drama at all. Hopefully we can produce some more videos together 👍
Fantastic feed back mate. Keep up your amazing work
Thanks Andrew. I'm trying to keep things mixed up a bit. There's a lot going on but it's exciting 👍

I'm still liking my 2006 Eagle, with a proper boot. An add on box is obviously the cheap way out.

Can you do the same review of the lark outback?
I think you've found your calling doing reviews. That was outstanding and very informative
I tried to cover as much as I could to help everyone out 😁 We never did get to your MUX review lol, time just gets away 🫣🤣
@WorkLivePlay your right about time. It seems like every time you blink another month has past
We are starting to look around at campers and these look great...
great color
Would love one of these hopefully end of the year
Great review buddy. Very helpful. Cheers
Great walk around and extremely informative. I didn’t realise how massive that place was.
It's huge and they are running out of room. I might try to do a walk around of the actual showroom, spares shop etc down the track. Many don't realise how much is there. The green is not bad. I do like it the more I see it. Breaks up the monotony of white / off beige you see at every park
Great review. It's good to see what's changed since my 2006 model. Keep up the good work.👍

Love your work Vaughan, brilliant as per usual.
Thank you very much, I tried to cover off as much as I could without dragging it out too much 😉
Yes please do the whole range
Thank you for posting this Swan Walk Around. I would love to see something similar for the Wren Outback. Not much is out there about this model.
Actually I haven't seen a Wren. I am also interested in checking one out 👍
Jayco should get you to do there advertising, u do a great job.
Lets see one of the family bunk vans like the offgridx or similar.

Looks like some great updates & I like the colour!

thanks Vaughan , great review , you do a great presentation.
I try my best 😆 Some of the 'scenes' have quite a few takes but I get there in the end eventually 😂🤣
Hi! Really enjoyed your review. You did a realliy great description of all the features. Would love you to do a review on the new Penguin. Our current Penguin is coming up for renewal. All the best. Michael
Colour looks good point of difference in the industry
As always love your passion
Thanks, I'm glad people appreciate the energy. The point of difference makes a big difference, it adds a bit of life to the product 👍
Great video. Very detailed. Jayco should use this as their promo video.

I bought a swan from Jayco Newcastle in 2022 I really hope this new design trailers are better built then the rubbish build of the swan I got

Some info on the awning would be great and if any aftermarket options are available
Great video, mate. Is there any chance you could do a review on the JAYCO Jpod range, i.e., outback and the jpod X , cheers new subscriber 👍
That’s was a fantastic overview thank you! Are you able to do one on the 2024 Jayco JpodX?
I'm going to suggest this as I'm actually quite interested in that style of camper at the moment. The Cross Trak, even though it's larger has also just had a full update. I will see what I can organise 👍
Actually really like the olive green with black
When I heard about this last year I was very on the fence. I actually really like it now, it works really well.
Great review 👏
Thanks Karl, hopefully it helps a few out. I know I was pretty curious as to what has changed 👍
Can you do the lark outback
now i want one
I love the campers, they are such a great option. It's hard to convey how bright and airy they are on camera. Very easy to setup and all these new inclusions make them very practical 👍
What size beds are in jayco campers. Are there any lightweight campers with a queen bed.
Love the handle and the fact they got rid of the front boot for a box. Much better. What about the top draw. Is it still a fold down or a draw now
It still has the fold down flap 😆 but the front box I think will work really well.
What they haven't fixed is the dodgy door system it's been the bane of jayco camper owners for 45 years
Colour is great. All the upgrades are huge improvements. Is the fridge auto sensing between gas, car and 240v sources?
The fridges will auto sense. It's a great feature that the fridge in our Journey has, certainly makes life a lot easier 👍
@@WorkLivePlay I bought a 2022 Swift with the old fridge. I was so jealous of our friends who bought a 2024 Lark with new fridge. Great idea.
With the trouble people have with the manual winding mechanism why haven’t Jayco done the electric lift setup instead, and why haven’t they included the heavier canvas material all the way around instead of the thin canvas, makes no sense to me AND have they improved the strength of the door hinges??? I love that new khaki colour, but that's a really bad upholstery job on the lounge inside. Thank you for the video.
I would normally smooth that out but honestly did not notice the bunching. I actually really liked the thicker fabric however. The Olive Green and Khaki works really well, I wasn't a fan initially but it's really grown on me now I've seen a few 👍
The door to the storage unit at the doorway opens the wrong way. You can’t get things out from standing at the door step.
This is always a topic of discussion, I guess if it opened the other way it would not work that well inside. The old double doors worked well. I do wonder if the drawers would work better on the other side closest to the outside?
Interior layout still inferior to goldstream and why no outside kitchen.
Whats the RRP?
Jayco lists the price from $37,795. Most would add a few accessories such as bed flies, awning etc. I highly recommend the drop down picnic table plus plus the 12v pump, solar etc if you are planning on heading off-grid 👍
like the changes not so sure about that colour
I wasn't a fan when it was suggested via the show prototype last year. It's really grown on me. Now I've seen a few in person it works really well.
Jayco got it wrong with this colour.
I dislike the new colour it’s a deal breaker
It's certainly quite a different deviation from the previous schemes 👍
Geez, enough with that horrible music.
Get one out and use one like @TeamBulletOffroad these jaycos are great priced but we need to see what they can do
