  • Ingredients:-
    1/3 cup whole chia seeds
    1/3 cup sesame seed
    1/3 cup pumpkin seeds
    ½ cup flax seed
    1/3 cup sun flower seeds
    1/8-1/4 tsp salt or to taste
    1 cup water
    Note: You can add nuts of your choice and also herbs and spices.
    Steps:-
    1-Mix all the ingredients listed above. Cover and let all the seeds especially chia and flax seeds absorb most of the water. The mixture will become kind of slimy. Rest for about 2-4 hours outside. I didn’t have time to bake them in the same day so I put them in the fridge overnight and bake them the next day. Flax and chia seed will act like a glue.
    3-Spread the mixture out with a spatula on a baking sheet lined up with parchment paper. The thickness is about ¼ inch or less as per your liking.
    3-Bake in preheat oven at 325-350 F for about 30-40 minutes.
    4- Remove from oven and slice into any shape you like. If they are sticky and hard to flip them so put them back in the oven for about 10-15 minutes.
    5-Carefully flip the crackers over and put them back in the oven for about another 30 minutes or until they are crispy.
    6-Store them in tight lid container when they are cold.
    7-Enjoy them with hummus, baba ganoush, cream cheese, butter, peanut butter and many more things.
    Enjoy:)

    👍These are great. Super yummy & a healthy snack. 😁 Better than store bought. I made a couple of separate sections on the pan so I could have more crispy edges & so I could cut them into cute little triangles (which is a little more artsy and little less boring as a square cracker ☝️) I also added 1-2 TBSP Of 100% pure maple syrup to another batch and a little bit of ground psyllium husk. Turned out great. Thanks for sharing the recipe & demoing. Most of all thanks for putting the recipe in the description box. 🤗💞🤗

    • @Tasty-Dishes
      @Tasty-Dishes  Před 7 lety +1

      Hi Hilda. I had some in the fridge so i thought to add it to this recipe. I added 2 Tbsp but the mixture after resting got hard to spread so i added a little more water then it was easy to spread. Don't worry if you add a little extra water, you will bake it a little more until they are crispy. I am trying to get rid of my toast in the morning at least :):):)

      Thank you. I did that and they came out perfectly! I removed the paper from the top and placed the dough on the sheet with paper still on bottom.
      The bought crackers i love the most are Mary’s super seed which are expensive and hard to get. Now i can make my own. It was a substantial investment for the ingredients to start, but with an order placed at a bulk food store i was able to keep my costs down.
      I just finished 300 crackers for my family (grandson can get them fast enough!) and myself and it has made my week!
      Thank you for making lockdown for me a little bit easier.

    • @Tasty-Dishes
      @Tasty-Dishes  Před 5 lety +1

      Leticia Valdes please keep it in the oven longer time so it will be easier for you to flip it ! If that didn’t help keep it in the oven until it is crispy then it will be diffidently easier to remove it but in this case you have to break it with your hand and will not get the square shapes rather you will get uneven shapes! Also a tip next time brush the paper with slightly oil ! Have a great day ! Please let me know how did go ?
