I’d rather hear AC/DC riffs than reviews who do blues scales all day. At least AC/DC makes pretty heavy doom riffs

I own this amp along with some of the other big orange heads...this is my favorite amp Orange have ever made.....its awesome for metal....great demo and Riffs btw....maybe you could do a similar one for the dual dark

Would like it to have some sort of low power option but to be honest, I like a lot of headroom nowadays so I can get distortion purely from the pedalboard.
So maybe I can justify it 🤔
@@chrisegonsearlemusicMatamp is sick, I've only had one around 2012, the 5W Miniverb (factory reference sample in white vinyl), it was a great amp, the photos of the inside handwiring have been lost in the last 12 years but it was oh so clean.

Nice video! Agreed I think the versatility of the OR30 is the best feature with the presence knob / full EQ and brightness switches you can dial in tons of different metal genre tones. I usually use an OD or mid boost.
Really dig the low wattage setting. More amps need this option.

I have a Rockerverb MK1 and the TH-100z the Rockerverb is my go too for B standard tuned guitars , but this OR -30 has my attention!

Sounds really good. I really like the tone to it. Sounds like it is a versatile amp that can to all types of Metal. I was looking really hard at the OR15 a couple of years back, but I didn't think 15 watts would power the two 60 watt speakers I have so I chose the Orange Pro Crush 120. (Bang for the buck since I'm a my house only guitarist). Too bad this amp wasn't around a couple of years back, I would have gotten it. The FX loop is a must for me.
The Crush 120 is a solid amp as well . I had one awhile back and really liked it . Like you said it’s a heck of a bang for your buck🤘🏻

Man this amp sounds good. What tuning were you in during your lighter drive with delay part (around the 5:30 mark)? Kinda reminded me a bit of Russian Circles. I used to have a RV mkiii and just felt like it was too squishy and loose. This amp sounds so much better
So for that section I was in DADGAD . I’ve said it before but this amp took me by surprise . I’ve been a big fan of the rockerverb for a while now . But the minute I started playing this . I knew this was the orange for me .

My biggest issue with this amp(and my th30) is i really do find myself wanting these tones with more headroom.
I’ve owned a TH30 while back and I do have to say the OR30 might have it on headroom . But wish I never got rid of that TH30 it was a great amp .
Awesome stuff, sounds really great mate. Been enjoying the playing a lot lately too :) One thing I always wish id see, especially for one channel amps in particular, is a good demonstration of the dynamic range of the guitars volume rolling from clean to filth (volume pedal while playing personally these days) at different settings to show how well the single channel amp responds.
I know id find great value in this at least, as those kind of simple dynamics have become way more important to me as I get older and have been playing for a while, favoring single channel setups. If someone can gain stage a RAT, Muff or otherwise and perform the same demonstration of dynamics would be really cool also as different amps will respond differently (gain not too hot on pedals to retain some dynamic control of course - or not hehe).
Maybe you mis-spoke. All tube guitar amplifies are rectified; either tube or diode.
AND because all guitar tube amps have AB power sections (push-pull) it has four (4) EL84 power tubes not three (3) EL34. However, it does have three (3) 12AX7 pre amp tubes.
Anyway, ORANGE amps are awesome and have their own thing going on. Great video!!

I’ve been relentlessly check the channel for this demo. I wanted this amp when the first previews were coming out but most demo channels don’t demo for the HEAVY. The DOOM. The SLUDGE. Been looking to downgrade in wattage at home but didn’t want to loose the magic that comes with the big 100 watters.
I feel ya, although to be fair most people don't run 100W heads on more than about the equivalent of about 30-40W until you start playing big stages, even then it can still be a lot... mind you that's not getting into headroom n all that.
Well hopefully this demo delivered . I had a great time doing this one . Def one of my favorite oranges to date .
I love my rocker 30! The OR50 is a grail amp. I wonder how the or30 compairs to the or50
Never played a rocker but I hear they are great . I wish I could get my hands on a OR50 to compare the two .
@FuzzedDrones the main difference I have seen are the OR50 is 2 el34s no rectifier tubes and no FX loop. Sound wise I am not sure. Obviously the or30 has also a few more bells and whistles. The rocker 30 to me is a bit less saturation more open sounding. I can get the mastodon type tone all day. It's aggressive and mean. I find it has enough gain for me, especially to play stuff like the sword or red fang. A OD boost type pedal gets it into the higher gain modern sound.
Sounds pretty badass.. Prolly not loud enough to gig tho right? So like a recording only amp?

If you had to choose between this and and a matamp (gt1 or gt120) as your high end amp, what would it be? Which would you buy?
Well that’s a good question . Now if I’m using this as a high gain amp . I would go with the OR30 all day . I have the GT120MV and I really wouldn’t consider that a high gain amp . It’s very flat sounding amp. It really doesn’t do the whole metal thing very well unless you boosting it with something . GT1 I’ve never been a fan of but people love em . Just something about that amp I really didn’t like that much .

3x EL34’s? I think you meant 4x EL84’s and a 5AR4 rectifier. Anyways sounds great. I have an ‘06 UK built Rocker 30 and it’s my favorite amp. 30 watts is just the right amount in my opinion.
You’re absolutely right that was just something I slipped up on . After doing a few of these demos in a night . The brain gets fried very quickly 😂

i imagine that you can get there but you’ll need pedals in front to tighten up the distortion (maybe compressor and high gain distortion from say a lichtlaerm) because it’s not ideally setup for that genre but like any amp it can probably do it - which makes me think you can probably get where you want to go with many cheaper more available amps.
Personally I prefer the Or15 cheaper and just as good for the house and repeat

I had a th30 and with a 16ohm 4x12 I had to have the amp maxed to keep up with my drummer
I'd rather pay a little more and get a rockerverb
To each their own . Me personally I really don’t need two channels . Just for the fact that I always run a somewhat dirty amp . This one has a bit more bite to it compared to the Rockerverb . Both great amps but this one does it for me . But like I said before everyone has their own taste .

Especially since their hand wired custom amp costs about the same, you could get 3 OR15s for the price, I think $1300 would be more reasonable

@@codypotb4976 They used to but not anymore. Bill used a JCM800 on Leviathan, then a Friedman. They’re both endorsed by Victory currently but I’m sure Bill used a 6505 emulator on the last tour with Gojira. As you can tell, I’m a bit of a Mastodon fan 🤣
