      You're welcome! I couldn't find any videos explaining the process in detail so I thought I'd make one. Wasn't hard at all!

      Bill, you're welcome!
      I didn't try to repair the old one. With the right set of skills and tools it might be possible. The pins were really corroded and I guess you would need a soldering gun to resolder the pins to the circuit board as they were loose. Also the foam gasket that surrounds the LED brake lamp was in a really bad shape, so water could get to the circuit board quite easily, hence the defect.

    Hello, thanks for uploading. I have access but the light is stuck in. How did you free it so that it popped out?

    • @GrollerG
      @GrollerG  Před 4 lety

      Mine was stuck as well. I lifted slightly the left corner and pulled sideways towards my left hand side. And it came out easily. Did I skip that part?

    • @GrollerG
      @GrollerG  Před 4 lety +2

      Oh, and first you have to release the safety clips from inside with a screwdriver see around 02:06.

    I cannot get the LED out, is there more clips to it fore loosening? The video did not show that. I cannot push it out like you did?

    • @GrollerG
      @GrollerG  Před 5 měsíci

      I think there is one or two clips. But you have to slide it sideways the top part of the clip to free it.

    Mine is stuck as well, all retaining clips removed but unable to pop the lamp out - almost seems like glass is millimeter or two too high.

    • @GrollerG
      @GrollerG  Před 3 lety

      Just slide it slightly to one side and then lift up.

    Why don't you show how to remove metal clips

    • @GrollerG
      @GrollerG  Před rokem

      If you stop the video at 01:49 you will see the grey plastic bit at the top with the metal clip and the black plastic bit at the bottom with a rectangular notch. You place the screwdriver in that notch and you can see in the video I tap it towards the right and it will slide just a few millimeters. That's enough to release the metal clips and then you can gently remove the led cluster from the outside. I will try to make a separate video about this in the future.

    I do not see where did you put the screwdriver to nock or push the light

    • @GrollerG
      @GrollerG  Před rokem

      Sorry for that I was concentrating to find the gap and I had the screwdriver in my right hand and I didn't get the perfect shot. But if you look closely there is the black plastic under the metal retaining clip and that is the sweetspot. Just push it slightly down and towards right and it will move the entire clip and free up the light cluster slightly but not entirely.
