    Thanks very much! As an FJR rider I have been enjoying your very well produced videos. I have been riding FJRs here in Australia since 2001 but now think I'll move to the FJ09 (MT-09 Tracer here in Aus). Your review is as favourable as the many others I have read / viewed. Thanks again and keep up the great job you are doing! :)

      Did you ever get the FJ-09? If so, how do you like it? I got mine about 2 yrs ago, like it!

    It's so interesting to see the different reviews of this bike, based on the rider's 'other' bike, and riding experience. I appreciated it.
    Thanks for posting.
    I'm picking up my own FJ09 this friday.
    Coming from a boat anchor of a 2001 Vstar 650. :)

    I test rode the FZ09 last year. It had such a definitive torque band, it reminded me of the old days riding 2 stroke street bikes. The FIRST power wheelie was an accident, the others, well........but an way, were it not for the chain drive, I probably would have gotten an FJ09 instead of my new FJR1300. And also, I was actually more comfortable ( in purely factory, no upgrades, adjustments and such condition) on the fz09! I think once I get some risers on the /fj I will be just fine though.

    I would've suggested this bike but you said the FZ-09 had more power than you wanted which is why I suggested the -07. I rode one of these a few weeks back and quite enjoyed it, it would need suspension work for me to live with it but every bike does, nice motor and ergo's were not too bad once I got used to it getting off my ZX14R. An exhaust would also definitely be on the list after suspension, they growl very nicely once an aftermarket system goes on.

    I'm a new rider here in US, have 5 years experience on a 350cc Tour- Enduro motorcycle in different country. Considering a FJ-09 / Tracer900 as a first bike, is it good choice for a beginning or too big?

    @tomfjr3872 Před 9 lety +1

    Yeah, Barney's of Brandon !! New paint job on the building. Don't think the FJ09 is a sport touring bike .. more like a street- adventure styled bike. Thanks for the review.

    Just found your channel. Thanks for all the great information. I have been considering an FJR to replace my Harley touring bike, but wonder if the FJ-09 would fit the role? Would you consider the FJ-09 a viable replacement for your FJR?

    • @TwoWheelObsession
      @TwoWheelObsession  Před 9 lety

      Jerry Scott Nooooo apples and oranges, completely different kind of bikes. The FJ09 is a great city bike, shorter tours, single rider, lighter luggage - that kind of thing. Very light and nimble, maybe a little bit of trail riding kind of thing.

    Bryan, watched tons of your how-to videos on the FZ. I currently own a 15 FJ, but seriously considering the new MT09. You obviously preferred the FZ over this as you bought one. How come? Pros/cons would be appreciated. Long time rider but feel a bit uneasy at 5’8” on the FJ. Greetings from Canada. Ride safely.

    Very interesting and instructive review, thanks! I may have missed it, and if I did, I apologize, but it seems most vlog reviews (this one included) omit two important parameters: the height and weight of the rider. That would put your comments, such as your knees touching the tank, in context for the reader. Anyhow, this was one of the better, most complete reviews have seen (considering the short length and city environment)

    No self cancelling turn signals? Most bikes haven't had them since the 1980's.
    Why do you need them?
    You turn them ON why not turn them OFF??

  • @Databyter
    @Databyter Před 9 lety +2

    Just thought I'd mention, since you were checking out the modes and trying to check out acceleration, another reviewer/owner claims that this bike has not only 3 modes, but also traction control in ALL modes which defaults to being on, but which is however defeatable with a button push (you have to be at a stop) . So if it felt a bit tame even as it accelerated in the A mode, that is no doubt why. When the other reviewer mentioned defeated the traction control this bike was doing effortless hooligan wheelies in several gears at various speeds more or less at will.. Also has ABS I believe.

  • @dmsentra

    Comparing your comment to another review concerning helmet wind noise, how tall are you, and is the windscreen set high or low on this bike?

  • @glennkrick

    Good video thanks. I'm considering buying this bike but not happy about 115mph speed cut off. Can this be defeated?

    • @BazzerObama
      @BazzerObama Před 5 lety

      glennkrick 225km per hour translates to 139.75 miles per hour...........rather than the 115 you mention

  • @paulguillemot2613
    @paulguillemot2613 Před 6 lety

    It's a shame that a lot of riders doing reviews state "it's a tall bike" but never give their own height for comparison for those of us wondering if it's a good fit for our own height.

      I sold it & bought a Yamaha fz-10.
      Much happier.
      Cruise control is Awesome.
      I put a touring wind screen & shad hard cases & a tank bag on her.
      Did a 10 road trip.
