I received 2.4 views last week, and I am hoping to do the same. If you don’t mind, would you please share. Merci!
Beautiful market! Thank you Janice!❤️🙏❤️
You are so welcome
You really exercised self control at the market. I would have loved the white dress and flowers!!
lol
The white dress was lovely. The stalls , with the cooked foods, are amazing. On my first visit, to such a stall, I couldn't decide what to buy. I ended up paying over €200 on cooked chicken breasts in wine/veg and cream sauce, Large Gambas,( my favourite seafood) A salmon, leek and cream dish and 2 other meals. All meals were enough for 4 people . My husband was shocked but all were delicious. And we had dinner for 4 nights 😊...Now I've talked myself into returning this week. ( I'll only buy 2 meals each .I can, after all, return weekly ❤)
Lovely market day! Thank you for sharing. The flowers were absolutely stunning.
Thanks for visiting, and yes it was Mother’s Day here in France.
Janice, All of those hats looked cute on you. BTW I’m wondering why you aren’t speaking French with the vendors.
I can’t
And I did not hear a friendly ‘bonjour mdme/mssr!’ As you have taught us must be said! (( realize you are coordnating MUCH to be YouTubing and shopping AND attempting French . . . But I think the MOST important thing is to be with the people when you are out there. We are very happy to simply listen to the crowds and their talking and languages, to hear you interfacing w/neighbors and vendors and farmers . . . Which is more interesting to us than which pink bag or baggy sleeves; )
While I give positive feedback and many thanks, I will say I’m often lost as when your video is ‘fed’ to me by YT, I need to not just the month, but the YEAR in which you are speaking. Might be helpful to tell us 2023 or 4 or whatever at the beginning and what month, beginning? End? Such that we can place ourselves in time, compare the weather in different seasons and different years (or strikes etc) in place and time.
It seems you live in quite a nice section of the Paris metro, in Fontainbleau ? ? Is it pricey there, do you rent or own? What might one expect to pay for a lovely flat such as yours? Is it possible to install A/C, or is that ‘not done’ there? Love to know the answers. And thank you for ALL of your various videos, very very useful.
I was beginning to think I might fit in there until you mentioned the ‘French’ do not like to have casual conversations with strangers on the train/Street/cafe/ etc - is that true for most of France, or just the fancier people in Paris etc?? Very curious. People do seem essentially friendly, but I guess you are saying that are not very ‘open’, which is too bad for an outgoing person like myself, and you , it seems!
Merci Beaucoup! (Sp??). Genevieve
French people are friendly but won't talk to total strangers in the Street. Same as people in the UK , especially in the South, So it's not just a French thing. I'm English and hate Americans approaching me, in Europe, where I live. They are brash, rude, loud and don't care whether I choose to speak to them or not. They generally lack manners and common courtesy. They actually like they own the place. My experience in the UK and here. So don't blame the French!! Examine yourselves .....😂
Enjoyed going to the market with you. Your excitement for California is delightful.
Can’t wait and hank you
This market day was fabulously fun! Thanks for sharing this with us 😊
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you Janice for the nice little stroll though the Market. I just loved that $30.00 hat you tried on, it suited you, and you made me laugh when you said you didn't want the hat that made you look like a man. So funny. I wouldn't wear a hat that makes me look like a man either.
Thank you me mee
That looked like a perfect Sunday stroll, I think you looked great with the hats but off course the small purse will be very convenient when traveling 'light' , hav a lovely weekend 🌻
Thank you! You too!
Hello Janice! ❤❤❤❤ This market is 5 stars, so much variety of products! Thank you so much!!!
You are so welcome!
Loved this
Market! Thank you so much for sharing this with us! It’s so much quieter than the ones in Italy!
Glad you enjoyed!
I really like videos like this, thank you Janice for taking us along to the markets with you. Fontainebleau has really beautiful pieces.
Glad you like them!
Hello Janice! It has been a while since I watched your videos. Thank you for keeping onward on your journey. I am still in the States and things are crazy in nyc. Still not 100% should I move abroad. Thank you, though, for taking that big leap!
Welcome back! If you ever need to talk or you want to email please feel free to do so
@@JaniceInFrance Thank you!
I only wonder so many people are watching but few do thumbs up why it is free does not bite even subscribe is free painfree 🎉🎉🎉
True
So maybe you could ask a friend who speaks French to go out with you to help you learn some French to use when shopping! It is so appreciated when visiting another country if you make the effort to speak their language! 🥰🇺🇸🇫🇷🇮🇹
Maybe one day!
Hi Janice, thank you for the enjoyable stroll to and through the market. It brought back wonderful memories of when my daughter and I traveled to France and explored Fontainbleu on market day. Wishing you a safe trip back to the US. If I lived close to Sonoma I'd join your meet up, but Oklahoma is too far away. Have a nice time. 😊
Yes Linda Oklahoma is a little far but I’ll do a live so hopefully you catch that . Do you follow me on Instagram?
This was so much fun going to market with you. So lovely.
Same here!
Love the "out on the streets" vlog, thank you!
So glad!
I think you are a wonderful woman! Such an inspiration!
Wow, thank you!
I enjoy outdoor markets. Thank you so much. My mother looked fabulous in hats, me not so much 😂
Me too!!
I enjoyed this stroll so much. Very beautiful market. Thank you for taking us along. Felt like I was right there with you! Also, makes me wonder how I would get along with my bad knees. Seems like everyone walks there. I am hoping my knees will improve. But makes me wonder how I'd get around.
So glad!
Lovely vlog Janice! ❤
Thank you!! 😊
I was in France for 8 days in May. We rented a car and drive to the Normandy beaches from the war. We rented a house for 5 in Bayeaux . I found Google translate very helpful. I bought a linen top in the market at Saint Mere Eglise. I have been to Paris twice but this was our first time out in the countryside. I enjoyed it. Prior to that we had been in London for the coronation and Edinburgh to visit my cousin. It’s hard to come home and settle into daily life back home in the states after so many adventures.
Lorraine, I so agree. Every time I would come over to your I just wanted one more week just one more week and then I had one more week I just wanted three more days, so I guess it just had to be that I moved here. I love St Mere E’glise! I went several years ago on my way to St michel and of course I love history . I’ve been to Normandie the beaches about four or five times but the first time I went it was in December and I rented a taxi to take me out there and I was by myself, and I think that was the best visit I actually could walk out and just feel and just have such empathy for all the families that lost their loved ones and for the boys they were so young it was really a moving experience. Next time you’re my way let me know and we’ll have a glass of wine
Thanks Janice for this video! The market looks great. I’m coming to Fontainebleau next week. What’s the name of the market and where is it located?
It is here in Fontainebleau. It is always open on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Love the market! How long of a walk is it for you to get there? Thanks for the video! I really enjoyed it.
15 minutes
@@JaniceInFrance a little bit shorter if you take the Rue Pasteur
Janice, just checking on you. I saw on the news about the gas explosion in Paris. Lenora from Ga
Thank you
Bonjour from Arlington, VA
Bonjour and thank you for stopping by!
Dear Janice, do be careful in the present disruptions..or as President de Gaule would have called them, "The Events"! I know you will make sure that your papers are in order, that is important in Europe, especially in times of unrest.
Thank you for your concern and I do.
certainly no riots in Fontainebleau
Is the market only open at Sunday? On November I will stay for several days at Fountainebleu. Thank you
Friday Sunday and Tuesday
Hi Janice. As an American married to a French guy who spends a few weeks each year in France, I shop at outdoor markets. I encourage you to learn the basics for buying from vendors without asking if they speak English. Mostly, they don’t. I totally love your videos, but I hope you learn shopping vocabulary. It’s not difficult.
I’m working on it thank you
Please, pair the walking to your talking. It is more interesting so much as you are an interesting,v and I see that you are a very well spoken person.
Thank you
Do you know the policies/laws to obtain a driver's license in France? Also, owning a car?
No, I do not
Hey Janice, bonjour!
Can you please do me a favour & tell me the actual situation in paris? I'm your new subscriber.. I'm travelling in paris on 6th July ( after 2 days) .. Is it safe to travel there right now? My family here wants to make sure if I'll be safe there or not.. As you are already there it will be really helpful if you can please tell us the current situation.
Waiting for your kind response.❤
P.S- "You are beautiful". ❤😊
It’s all good except at. Ishtar when teenagers decide they have nothing to do.
Janice, you are not attempting to speak French! Bad American! Lol 😅
I know
They all speak English in France they just like to see you struggle
Use an audio translator on your phone so you can hear the phrase you want to communicate..just short phrases..listen and try to repeat..you dont have to sound french..but just attempt to use a few words..What is "hat in french"..chapeau? "Je voudrais acheter ce chapeau"..When you hear it on the audio translator..try to imitate as best you can..it will be appreciated..😊
Thank you and great idea
