How to Use QR Code to Log Into PS3 & Vita + Fix Problems When Not Working (PSN Device Setup Password

When you sign into a PS3 or Vita via the PlayStation Network, it will force you to scan a QR code to setup a device setup password. This video takes you through the correct way to do those step. Plus, sometimes it "isn't working" properly. You end up getting QR codes over and over again. Luckily I have four things to try if you are stuck in that way. They involve a lot of things, such as two-faction Authentication (TFA) aka two-step verification in Sony speak.

Thank you for making this video. My fiancée was very frustrated when she was unable to sign into her PSN Account. Solution 4 worked for us. Like you said there must be some kind of glitch. Sad that there isn’t a patch to fix it so that people don’t have to deal with this.

Thanks for the video, it was the 2 step verification that was causing my issue. I had turned it off awhile ago after being signed in on my PS3. But turned it off again, then after being logged out on my PS3 I ran into this annoying issue.

I was having the same problem with entering the generated password and getting the QR screen over and over. I generated a few then revoked them when they didn’t work and generated another and still didn’t work. Finally I revoked it, waited like 30 secs and generated another time and this time it worked. Make sure not to generate a ton of passwords and not use them, try and just do it once and use that, hopefully somebody will be helped by this.

what i did was i went to one of my pre exisiting users from years ago that was not already linked to a psn account. then i clicked sign up for psn on that user and logged in with the qr code password and it worked
