The Partridge house just doesn't seem big enough -- they need more bathrooms and just more room in general! Reuben takes Shirley to look at a new, larger house. The Partridge house is home to her, so Shirley doesn't really want to move, but all the kids are very anxious to. They put their house up for sale, with Reuben acting as real estate agent. After a week without even one "looker", Reuben and Danny cook up a scheme for "open house" with the Partridge Family.
The open house is like a carnival -- hundreds of people show up. As the family overhears various disparaging remarks about their home from the visitors, they begin to realize just how much the house means to them. Just as the kids tell Shirley that they don't want to move either, Reuben arrives with the news that he's sold the house
When the buyers, Mr. & Mrs. Sharp come to look the house over, the kids sabotage the plumbing, the doors and the windows to make it seem like the house is falling apart. They confess that they did it because they don't want to move, but the Sharps still want the house and they've signed the papers.
With two weeks to move, they learn that someone else bought the new house, so if Reuben can't manage to get it, they have nowhere to go. The Sharps arrive with the news that they don't want the house -- everyone sees through their reasons and realizes that they'd feel bad if the kids had to move against their will. Reuben ruins the happy moment with the news that he has managed to buy the other house. He makes a deal with the owner to release them from their contract if the Partridge Family will entertain at his son's birthday party, so the Partridges get to keep their home after all.

Everyone used to make fun of them and call it bubblegum music. Actually all the Partridge songs were very high quality pop songs written by top notch writers and recorded with the best studio musicians of the day who played on Carpenters and FIfth Dimension and a lot of seventies records. And David's voice was very easy to listen to very smooth and you can't deny the joy and beauty of those fabulous backgroud harmonies. Every Partridge Family record was a treat to behold!!! This music should not be forgotten and someone should reissue these albums or cds in full force!!!!!

I was born in 1962 so I really don’t remember the Partridge Family because I was sick in the hospital with Virus encephalitis had a fever of 107 I almost died from my disease. On the A&E about his CD that he made for his dad Jack Cassidy he said he did it to himself which he did he drank way to much. Sad I must say. I think he should be in the Rock & Roll hall of fame he was a great singer. Sad he gone.
Linda Murray well Linda it happened in 1967 I was in a coma for 7 months after I came back I had to relearn everything over again. So I stayed at the hospital school in Iowa City Iowa. It took me about 3 years to really get better. So you see I really never watched the Partridge Family as a kid. I enjoy the reruns on FETV on Dish Network.
We all miss him.. I think he took a piece of us with him. A piece of our youth and innocence, of a better world. What a gorgeous voice he had!! I will never accept that he isn't with us anymore. As long as I am alive he will continue to live in my heart, my memories and my mind.
I just can't bear the thought of this only gorgeous man in this universe no longer exist! Oh David... Helloooo.... Rip . God bless u in heaven!

transports you back to those innocent childhood years...hard reality is that life is so fleeting - hard to believe its all over - no new songs, no new chapters - his passing has really affected me -first crush that carried on a lifetime to 52y...love David forever.
He was not my crush. I was like 4 or 5 years old when the Partridges were on primetime. But his records were the first records I listened to and liked. He introduced me to pop music. I thought he was cool . . . much cooler than Greg Brady, LOL! So, I took his death really hard too. He was a symbol of my childhood. So it's not only the teenage girls of the 70s that are in mourning, it's also the little kids of the 70s that were affected by his death as well. He's the only celebrity that died that I actually cried over. I guess the guy did something right. On Dr. Phil . . . Dr. Phil asked him what he wanted to be remembered for . . . he said, "Spreading love, bringing light into people's lives." He certainly did. RIP DC. Thank you for the "light". I love you and will never forget you.

Alot of david cassidys songs werd great back in the day. There touching as well moving... i loved their show sad to think its off the air... i really enjoyed watching susan Dey as well. She was 17 when she got the role for laurie Partridge... She is from my home town Mount Kisco NY... She went to fox lane HS. In Bedford Hills NY... She has become a great actress and now has daughter named sarah who is 25 yrs old... susan dey has been on LA law. She has come a long way. God bless her.....

Uh oh!! They don't look too happy that Reuben's just sold their house. Also, Danny appears to be strumming that one bass string. This song uses David Cassidy's velvety vocals really effectively.

Okay if you ever heard or saw that news somewhere some idiot must've just posted a misunderstanding after knowing that charice is going to sing a song that shares the same title as this one, but they definitely differ on the lyrics, glee's version is an original song, together with two others that will be shown on the season finale. Sorry but it ain't Patridge's "As Long as You're There"
