Their Tiny Desk Concert was literally the most amazing thing I've ever seen in my life.
Searching it now!!
They're stuck in Australia, in the harshest lockdowns, borders closed. They want to tour, but can't.
I’ve never had a music teacher, but good god if you were teaching me I’d pay attention 110%. Such a vibe and so much passion. That following the bassline to figure out the harmony is such a pointer. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾bless up from 🇦🇺
Back story! They were recording all day and night and was fooling around in the studio, in Rio, till 3a! There was a red light in the recording room and she said it reminded her of her bedroom growing up, it had red stain glass that would shine thru when the sunset!! Hence, the title, and lyrics... she said it was very calming and really came to light once covid hit. Soooo genius!
This sent me down a rabbit hole of a sort of sub genre I didn't know existed
Which bands!? Share plz!
Man, you're such a vibe. You really make me wanna learn music theory, and that's just amazing. The way you pause and try to replicate it on your piano with your own touch. I really have no words, it's just great! :)
Their song “get sun” from their new album has some amazing arrangements on there. Really appreciate you doing more hiatus kaiyote videos, probably my favorite band rn!
Your knowledge and sightreading ability are refreshing and give me a great different perspective to appreciate. Hiatus Kaiyote feels so sophisticated and you help to connect those dots. Thank you.
I wasn’t reading. I was ear-ring
Love your reactions and little tips, your passion is contagious!!!! Love this song and have been lucky to live in auz and seen these guys a few times, last was at bluesfest 2022, nai was literally shinning!!!!!
I appreciate you covering this song. I'm not a jazz fan but I appreciate their musical talent
When you first heard "inside a flower" and you just repeated the line, falling in love with the song at that moment. A delightful response to a true delight of a song. Top marks sir. Subscribed 😎
Breathing Underwater!
Hiatus Kaiyote - Shoalin monk mother funk please!
I think this track may be about her stay in the hospital dealing with cancer. So happy she made it. More layers to a musically dope track!
@@kemigyrl1 Huh lol? What makes you think that? It's about her room being a place of comfort for her, esp spurred on by the pandemic. She said she used to have a window of red stained glass in her room, hence why when the sun shined it became a "red room".
@@buttaamilkk She did have breast cancer at the early end of the pandemic, so it's not farfetched at all!
Always the best music reaction channel for me (not joke)
That’s so sweet
Beautiful presence also, thank you for your input and upload!
Love the commentary 💯
Yeahhhhh love this thank you
This is a proper reaction. Finally. Reacts physically, verbally, musically. Very refreshing and informative. Could vybe with this guy 👍
Hey Dave! I've binged through nearly every single video you have on your channel in the last few days and I just wanna say I absolutely love your style of dissecting and breaking down all of these songs that you cover. I've especially loved seeing your take on the heavier side of music, when you did Bring Me The Horizon, Spiritbox, etc.
I wanted to suggest a song, called Pray for Rain by the band Polaris. I've heard people much more professional in the music industry than myself about how well mixed the song is, and while it doesn't have an associated music video, the song itself is one of my favorite discoveries in recent memory and I think you'd enjoy it!
Keep up the great material!
Also , a lot of Robert Glasper
Thank goodness just found this song and I searched to see if anyone was hearing what I was, amazing observations!
Gained a sub, sir. From Sin City. You said the third video was the charm. I shall be getting my shed head gear. One question, any chance of getting the drummer shirt quote on a mug or reusable cup? Inquiring minds… looking forward to seeing more! 💪🏾❤️💯
What! You should checkout a Australian band from the late 80's, Loose Change @ the Grain store. Feat. Virgil Donati on drums, Joe Chindamo, piano and Steve Hadley, bass and Mark Domani
New ShedHead here 🙋♂️
The Contortionist - The Parable (Rediscovered)... you'll be a fan immediately
And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope - Ne Obliviscaris
Realistically you can count on one hand the modern bands that matchup to Hiatus Kaiyote. Their live performances are like sonic rituals in which time and texture are briefly worshipped. Unbelieve. In my opinion they are the best band you can see live right now which I know is arguable. But top 5 undeniably.
You need to do videos on some fela kuti music !
The absolute best example of a band not being anything without the drummer is Nirvana.
Esp if you hear them with the drummer before DG. Yes!
@@MusicShed yeah, when they played songs from Bleach live with Dave on drums the difference was quite remarkable. He really elevated Kurt's songs to another level. I mean hell the first sound most people heard from Nirvana was Dave on the kick and snare from "Smells Like Teen Spirit".
if you like this groove you got to check out Elise Trouw - Make believe... that girl at 19 live looping everything herself.. worth checking out!
Best songs to me are Minor/major
Based on the fills you did I really feel you're a master, would love to jam and learn from you if that would be possible?
Email me, go to my website www.musicshedct.com and grab the email! (Don’t wanna put it here…scams)
You HAVE to do yungblud fleabag!!
Hello DEAR, Dimash few days ago dropped his new song STRANGER on his channel. You certainly don't want to miss such madnes. You just won't believe your ears and eyes. I had never experienced anything more enchanting. Make sure you are in conscious at the end, at least until you post the video with your reaction.
I would recommend you some Our Last Night Stuff when you want to do heavier Stuff again ;D Like their latest output Cold Blooded. I am sure you will like it :D
Dude you gotta check out Bilmuri
Please do Get out alive by three days grace 💙 I think you'd love it.
Starset - Bringing It Down, Manifest (Live)

PLEASE react to "And I Return to Nothingness..." by Lorna Shore and "Baba Yaga" by Slaughter to Prevail
Will you please do Bo Burnham - art is dead!
Sorry, but R&B studies are not needed to play like this. It’s 4 equally strong artists, all with personal and delicate selective taste, great skill and creative talent finding each other and resonating at a very very high level creating moments of flow and creation you simply can’t predict or plan or write. The momenta where the brain stops analyzing.
Day three of asking you to react to “Follow the Light” by DL and Cory Wong
It’s on my radar and in our todo list. Instead, every day, you can comment on how much you love me and the channel! Lol
@@MusicShed Haha okay lol
