  • Captain the chimpanzee spent 11 years locked in a tiny cage. A hunter killed his mother when he was just a baby, and he was sold as a pet. After 11 years in prison-like conditions, we heard about Captain's situation and rescue him with the help of a concerned traveler and our member Parc de la Lekedi.
Since then, Captain has been receiving dedicated rehabilitative care to help him overcome his past trauma. He is finally able to live with his own kind and enjoy his freedom!

I was surprised Captain could walk after being in that small cage for so long. Thank you for rescuing him!

Maybe it was just big enough for him to stand and take several steps in all directions -- enough to keep muscles moving.

Thanks for what? How does this personally affect you ? Typical arrogant American thinking the rest of the world needs their approval or fake gratitude? I'm American too, it's weird.. these people dont need our useless opinion on anything

With all the millions of people around the world in desperate need of resources like housing, food, medical care, etc. It blows my mind we are still wasting our valuable resources on these useless apes that should have been euthanized a long time ago. The resources being squandered on these creatures needs to be going instead to help children and families in need. If we continue to have these screwed up priorities we will continue to see more human suffering around the world. SMH
