Creo sinceramente que este tema de Barbara Strozzi es el mas hermoso que compuso , y que ademas se corona como uno de los mas belos compuesto en el barroco temprano .
Suena endiabladamente moderno .
En realidad el tema es mas largo , y lo que oimos aqui es solamente la primera parte de los aproximadamente 12 mntos que dura realmente .
Conozco otras versiones (L. G. Alarcon) y en todas ellas la soprano brilla por la enorme emocionalidad de la partitura .

Also, what's so intriguing about Strozzi is that she was, in actuality, NOT an intellectual. She was both a woman and a courtesan (essentially a prostitute), making her position in both music and Italian society at the time incredibly rare. Not to mention an illegitimate child, which would have definitely stoked at least some amount of social stigma towards her.
I'd definitely liked to have met her.
