RVs are exempt from the 20,000 lb axle limit, and are actually legal up to 24K. That’s why Renegade uses 23K single rears. Section 1522 of the Moving Ahead towards Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21) of 2012 amended 23 US Code 127 to exempt RVs from the 20k axle limit. Passenger buses already had the same exemption so RVIA lobbied to get it for RVs too.
