I never heard a black man say he can't fight, that's a real man right there to speak his truth because so many men are taught that fighting means they're tough when it takes a real man to resolve an issue without putting your hands on someone or using a weapon. He's in one of my favorite movies Assassins Creed, RIP.
I think men will say that once they hit that age where they no longer have a reason to fight. (Outside of protection for family or oneself)

I personally feel like the interviewers couldn’t connect with Michael, but he’s so personable that they still got along well.
I got the same immediate feeling.

It doesn't sound like the hosts were prepared to manage the gravity of what he was sharing. They took the typical route of trying to "lighten the mood" when there was SO much opportunity to give him a platform to help other people heal. :/

He said in a different interview that he had trouble getting parts in shows and film before the scar. After, he got the scar he started landing roles
@Guard Passer, I heard him say how thankful he was to Tupac Shakur, he say him and thought his look was great and specifically asked for him to be in a movie. It was said that after that, the offers came rolling in.

I have regular scars from having outa control skin during my teen age years. I turned to drinking and drugs to help ease the pain I felt when ppl looked at me strange. man...i don't know what I was thinking, but i never watched or got into the the wire when it was on. i always heard the guys at work talking about it and how good it was. telling me i should check it out. i was always an OZ and Sopranos guy. but for the hell of it, i just started watching The Wire and HOLY SHIT!!! What a great show. the writing, the actors and the creativity of the characters are incredible! There are alot of great characters i like, but by far, Omar is my favorite character on the show. This man, is an absolute gem of an actor and a person. Big fan of the show now and of MKW.
