I was hoping to land this or an AR position before I got my first job as an Accountant due to my years in AP and wanting to be better rounded. But I just jumped from AP to a Junior Accountant role that starts next week. You're videos here are very helpful. I'm definitely buying your controller package during the summer to have a better handle to make be a sharper Accountant at work and after graduation.
I’m in AP. It’s all I’ve done so far, but I know AP is a way of becoming more rounded due to the fact that you’re using the entire GL. AR only uses AR accounts and payroll only uses payroll accounts. You get it all in AP.
Thank you very much for your email, I can now understand what AR team is doing now. Could you please explain a bit more about what payment team, intercompany team, cash management team doing every day. I know a bit but not completely. Great thanks for your videos!
I have 12 years of experience as a quotation specialist, 1-1/2 years of experience as a Projects Financial Analyst, and a Bachelor's Degree in BA with a concentration in Finance. My goal is to be Director of FP&A. What's your advise on applying now or gaining more financial experience?
I currently work as an Executive Director for a nursing home. Oversee a various of financial information and manage 120+ employees. I have a bachelors in Healthcare Administration and Masters in Finance. Just recently started my accounting certificate. I am looking to test for my cpa when i am done. Any advice on how to get into the accounting profession with my current education and experience while i work on my accounting certificate for my cpa?
Hello, I have watched most of your videos and waiting to get my interview. I have got much from your videos as an accountant from Myanmar who is trying to get a job in Singapore. I hope I will get job as soon as possible because I am ready to confident about myself watching your videos. Thanks
Your channel is very informative! I'm studying a bachelors degree in accounting and I'm wondering which minors are good choices to go with a major in accounting?
Out of curiosity, how often are businesses in the SMB space dealing with accounts receivables and collections issues? Is this a high pain point for them? Why not accept credit card to avoid this issue altogether?
Hi, I have graduated in Diploma in Business Accounting, currently working as Jr. Billing Coordinator and have 6 months of experience in Accounts payable (Reconciliation). Can you let me know how should I plan my career.
Quick question ⁉️ Is it too late to start college at 39 years old to pursue becoming an Accountant? Please give me your advise since you have a lot of experience in the field.
Sir how are you doing i am very much interested in finance and accounting and I don't have any certificate, diploma and degree in accounts I only have the education background of accounts and I want to be the investor (opening up my own company)...
I am Billing Analyst in Arcserve. The generation of invoices, investigations and some business system works (license modification, and some small BI stuff) are under me. The AR part is not under me. My main skills of Jobs are SQL(most), excel and Business Central Erp etc. I am really confused in my career at the moment, my dream is to working in a process where BI tools are my main assets, something like Financial Analyst. What do you recommend me doing from now on? Masters degree or CMA USA? I look forward to your reply, take care ;)
both would be helpful, CMA would likely give you better immediate tools, but exams are harder. Unless you go to a hard MBA program, CMA is more rigorous.

My goal is to do well in my Masters of Taxation graduate program as I am working a part time job handling journal entires for accounts receivable and accounts payable. I am definitely going to buy your controller package during the summer that will help assist me on my accounting jourey after graduation
Wish I have this video when I was sitting for my audit paper. It was hard visualising the process without experience. Great video again, Bill!
This is by far a great explain of how to analyze financial statement. I'm feeling more confident now presenting my financials.

This was kind of humorous. End goal is to be a controller, and I’m studying for the CPA.

In the B2B space, credit card as a payment method isn’t always possible

Does this pay more than accounting clerk?
AP/AR ?
It really depends on the company and workload. Usually, Accounting clerks get paid more unless the AP/AR department has a high demand.

That might have been the case in the past. But this is fine in today’s environment
Definitely not. If you have any type of business experience, then start trying to get a job doing AP.
