WOW. The first 2 "hacks" in this video has been totally ripped off from Roman's channel, and Roman ripped it off from another channel. This copying is getting ridiculous.
Gristle Von Raben Ultrabright white LED's have a forward voltage of approximately 3.1v. The resistor limits the current. 5v minus 3.1v = 1.9v / .02 (20 ma) gives you a 95 ohms, so you would use a 100 ohm resistor. Colored LED's have a forward voltage around 1.9.

That LED USB trick is just pure genius. However, shouldn't you have the whole plug exposed, rather than just half of it? Also, couldn't you add a supercap in line with the resistor, to make the LED continue to light even after it is unplugged from the computer? Add a button to that and you have an awesome DIY flashlight!

I'm not entirely sure what the point of soldering an LED to a USB plug is supposed to accomplish, when EVERY SINGLE ELECTRONIC DEVICE I own already has an unnecessary number of glowing bits on them. It's like taking any USB device I own and removing all of the parts I actually use.

It's already burned on the bottom :/ 2) it doesn't make sense at all; for different diodes you'd need different resistors and as diode type is not known, it's unknown how to made it. Also I think that beginners may don't know about resistor band code, they might connect wrong one. And if somebody knows about color bands, then probably it's nothing exceptional for that person. And third is not a life hack, as it was said before.

these hacks are not even hacks, and first of all they are not simple, because you need a soldering iron and the knowledge to use it.
