the iron man to arc (the triangular one) is my fave.
This is really cool. I enjoy all your projects and I'm working on a few spinoffs. Item of note, I prefer using a heat gun instead of naked flame for the heat shrink. does the same thing without the flame part.
I noticed the amazon.to links do not connect for me.

"It's not an Arc Reactor, it's a nanite containment unit!" - Tony Stark!
What powers the nanites?
Thank you man you are the first guy who understanded

@@bobbywooldridge4759
Oh ok thanks man ^^
Ryan O'Shea the nanites power themselves all they are are microscopic robots capable of linking together on there own when ever the user needs them the power supply comes from the inside of the nanites so u were basically asking what powers a drone ;)
you should do the " proof that Tony Stark has a Heart" glass display case with OG ARC reactor
That would be pretty sweet
Ye
@@punishedprops when ur gonna do it pal then is it as commemorating to Robert Downey Jr the actor that played as the superhero iron man
The Black Sabbath shirt was a nice touch!
Thanks! I really wanted to get my hands on it, I'm glad I was able to find one

Sees a Punished Props video about Iron Man: Oh cool.
Sees a Tested video about Iron Man uploaded within an hour: What’s going on here?
🤔... something suspicious.
Tiger Bears in my subscriptions above this video was a video were Adam savage built an armor stand for his iron man armor.
Tiger Bears i think they may be in Kahoots
They're beginning to believe.

I just watched a close up of a grown man shaving and I don't even feel wierd about it.
oof me too
I actually felt weird
I'm new to your channel and as a subscriber. I just want to say thanks for putting these files out there and listing all the parts with links. I ordered all the parts and am printing the pieces now. There were things that I have been looking for but wasn't even sure what to search. Now I have them. Yay! Thanks dude.
Fantastic job Bill, tried modelling this myself but yours just looks way better. Gonna have to print that one out soon! Thanks for the files from a fellow Iron Man Cosplayer.
Thanks very much, cheers!
Love this channel 3000%
Awww thanks so much!
You're getting pretty dang good at fusion 360. I just started using it after your previous video with it in it. I was able to mock up my studio and now have renovation plans which inspired me to clean the shop up! :D
Fantastic!
That looks great, Bill, and even better for lighting up. Thanks for sharing!
You're so very welcome! Thank you for watching!
The Cheat is grounded! We had that lightswitch installed for you so you could turn the lights on and off , not so you could throw lightswitch raves...
OMG, a friend of mine just printed out the pieces and they are soooooo nice. I cannot wait to move forward with the rest of the piecing together and finishing out. THANK YOU
Heck yeah!
This is so amazing! You are a true artist! Thanks for the amazing prop videos. :D
Thank you so very much!
So fun to watch! Super cool!
Awesome job! And thank you for the files.
Thanks so much, and you're very welcome!
I was so please to read an excerpt from you in Adam Savage’s book. I had always hope you two had a deeper level of connection. This makes my inner maker and inner geek so happy.
Makes me super happy too!
Greetings again Bill and Britt!, amazing prop build...I love the idea of a cool prop like that so my hat goes off to you guys 🤠. And as always I cant wait until next weeks upload!!!
Thank you so much for your support!
Beauty!! Turned out pretty deadly Bill way to go!
Thanks!
Damn Bill! I love how this turned out! I made my own over on my channel last month and it was super interesting/informative seeing the differences between how we made them!
Keep up the great work, man!!
Isn't that the coolest? I LOVE seeing how different people tackle the same challenges. Thanks so much!
@@punishedprops Yeah absolutely! Especially with this prop and it's peculiar geometry! I feel like seeing how you interpreted it really gives me some new perspective on how I might do it differently next time. I love that kinda thing!
Keep up the good work, Doran! You're a huge inspiration to me! 😁
Da Cheat, I didn't install that lightswitch so that you could have a light switch rave with the arc reactor.
Came here to post this.
SO glad I'm not the only one!
Cool project!
Suggestion: Instead of a hole in the shirt(which is not great), you could have a magnet on both side (one on the unit, one inside your shirt) and a 'reed switch' (activated by magnetic) to power-on the unit when the magnet is close by.
Norm I just thought about that hole in the shirt problem, too. If you use reed switches, you would need some kind of power source in the outside... dont‘t you? I had something like wireless charging in my head, thou I don‘t know if that would be enough power...
Oh that's a neat idea!
@@Ekatioz You're right. I was hoping that a flat lithium battery, like the ones used on the mini drones, would fit in the arc reactor.
But yeah, I should have considered the power requirement (not just the switch) before posting the suggestion :(
@@punishedprops I love this project and I will likely make one. Thank you for your video. Oh yeah. I just noticed that you also have your own store. Cool! punishedprops.com/shop/
NGL That sponser tie-in was pretty slick. Also, great video! Made me wanna go make things.
Fantastic! That's always our goal :)
All I can picture now is Bill hanging out in the shop like Tony Stark . . . which is AWESOME!
Accurate
The system is down!
The system is down!
The system is down.
Great Build!
Thanks very much!
Very cool project!
I think i would have integrated a connection for the electronics that also connects when you put on the arc reactor on that magnets.
Would have been way more practical
Still damn awesome and incredibly detailed
Nicely done! And thanks for the models, sir! o7
You're very welcome!
Bill. What a wonderful video this week. Very fun and funny to watch. Some folks may get put out over the sponsor ship, but hey it’s always something we all use. Keep up the great work. Love the content.
Thanks very much, so glad you enjoyed the video!
Awesome!!!! I recently watched Iron Man 2 as well, and it has me wanting to go off of one of those suits for Indy Comic Con this year. And I use those same mini connectors for my light sabers!!!
Oh right on!
Thanks for showing the clean up of the resin. I've been wondering how easy it was to work with. I think I like the classic reactor Tony built in the cave.
It's REAL nice to work with. That's definitely a cool version!
Thats awesome dude
Thanks so much!
Awesome way to work in the sponsor to the video. Great job! ;)
Thank you!
BILL! I installed this EL panel so that you could turn your arc reactor ON and OFF, not so that you could throw EL PANEL RAVES.
I MUST DANCE!
Really enjoyed this shaving video, the prop is pretty cool too!🤣
Should have named the video "Tony Stark Beard Tutorial"! =D
15:05 Homestar Runner reference. Only us old people will catch that.
Love the Homestar Runner reference with the Techno Music.
The system is down!
XD
This looks great. Nice addition of the Sabbath Shirt.
Thanks very much!
Impressive design
Thanks for sharing :-)
Thanks so much!
I literally made the Mk1 cave arc reactor yesterday and posted a comment on one of your videos asking if you could do one to see what you could do lol. Awesome video, keep them up!
Well look at that! Thanks very much, glad you enjoyed the video!
My favorite part was the Homestar runner Lighswitch rave nod.
15:04 Tony Stark rapidly going in and out of immense pain as his Arc Reactor turns on and off rapidly.
It's not immense pain it's just a slight caridac arrest
Ethan Gordon not since iron man 3
Bill is grounded! The switch is for turning the lights on and off, not throwing arc reactor raves!
I came down here to put this same comment. Glad to see it was already here.
Come on, let's crack open those arc reactors and pour it into Homestar's Mountain Dew
Great job!!
Thanks very much!
Finding this video now with this elegant of a lighting solution makes me feel a bit brutish rather than refined -- for Halloween last year I made the reactor, designed it myself, used magnets and wireless energy transmission to power it (didn't want to put holes in any of my shirts) but I just got a string of battery powered LED lights and glued them to a diffuser panel within the reactor. This one looks a lot better.
That's a great way to do it! Congrats for figuring it out on your own!
Nice work! As usual :)
Thanks very much!
Yes! Light switch rave reference!
Got a good laugh with your tie in with dollar shave club tie in.
Love your videos keep it going
We plan to! Thanks so much!
Wow, it´s so amazing. ;- )
Great job! Was cool to watch. Just for accuracy, Avengers: Endgame featured the Mark 85 Iron Man armor, his last armor design in the MCU. Still, very nice!
I always watch the videos but don't make the props.
PS: *I love you 3000*
Sub'd
Thanks so much! You're more than welcome to simply enjoy the content :)
Thanks!
Ah the age old questions "remove the supports before or after curing" . I always thought removing and careful rubbing before curing helped to remove the pimples. Anyways that's how I've done it. Cheers for the great video.
love your work, my fav is the mark 1 and 2, i made one a while ago, but not 3d printed, yours is much nicer
Thanks so much! I bet your arc reactors are awesome!
very nice
Personally for making a miniature that's supposed to be all metallic pop with contrast, I go darker than intended on the base coat and HEAVILY highlight with a brighter metal. It prevents shading from looking "dirty" when it doesn't need to be.
That's a great method!
So badass.
Aw thanks!
@@punishedprops I read that in Bill's voice. Lol
I love it 3000 times.
Awwww thanks!
WOW! If only I had a printer like that
It's totally worth saving up for!
Props for the strong bad techno beatbox lol... get it props... I crack me up 🤣
Hah!
Awesome
Thanks!
Oooo awesome! I found a template on Thiniverse and just started printing out some parts. This is a way to do it I didn’t even think of. Especially the El Panel like when did this become a thing?! Thanks for this tutorial 😁
Nice, I used an EL wire on my first FDM print of a Darth Vader to make the lightsaber, need to make a transparent cylinder case for it, EL wire tend to bend and no stay straight, makes his Schwartz twist.
my favorite arc reactor is the mark 1 it's just so iconic and actually I have a model that I buy online.
Use the magnets to complete the circuit so you just need the back plate touching to connect power.
It may not work with a shirt in between the magnets, may not get an electrical connection.
@@AbuMaia01 true but you could always make small holes. Better than the bigger one to run wires.
@@AbuMaia01 also I think that if the magnets have enough bite to connect they should be able to supply power
@@terranceboyce8278 I think one small hole, buttonholed, would be better than two holes.
I just tried with a couple of strong magnets on my shirt, and a multimeter. I didn't get any electrical connection between the two. It'd have to be a very thin shirt.
Classic. All the way. Building that with copper wire would be so fun! I'll have to try that some time...
Go for it!
Just a thought- for the hole in the shirt (for the sewing inclined) you could sew a button hole in your shirt so that the hole a) doesn't expand and b) can withstand a lot more fiddling if this is for cosplay
Excellent suggestion!
Hey Bill, great tutorial but there is one detail I think you could still add even now that would elevate this even further. If you look at the image you used, you can see it looks like the shirt goes under the reactor. So just make a new backplate that has a "lip" that goes out, so the reactor looks a bit indented into the chest. Right now it looks like "hanging off" the chest instead of being part of it. If you try it out, post it, I'd love to see that.
Such a great tutorial thank you for taking the time to put this together and share the model. Unfortunately i think the scale of the PDF is off, Its about 15% smaller than the space the EL pain should go in… so unfortunately I wrecked a panel. Any chance of getting an updated template? Cheers
As you can see by my profile pic, my favorite is the Mk VI (which is the one you were mentioning at the beginning of the video...Iron Man 2). BTW, that's me in the profile pic. That was taken while I was onstage at Planet Comicon's contest, which just so happens to be the one that was featured on one of the episodes of Heroes of Cosplay. Had about 10 seconds of fame. :)
"I mean of course it works, why wouldn't it work?" -confident Bill 14:43
I have complete confidence in myself always
"Here, take this. You'll find him, if you put that on. You hide..."
My favorite one is the Mark III Palladium based Arc Reactor from Iron Man 2, Followed closely by the Mark I new element reactor from the same film.
Nice!
The mk1 chest piece is my favourite. It's where it all started!
It's a special one for sure!
Catching weird little references like the Cheat's Rave party is only one of the reasons I love this channel, but it also makes me wonder how many other references I don't get. Much like watching the Simpsons...
We're choc full of 'em!
Another excellent video! What app were you using to view the 3D files on your iPhone? Couldn’t see it listed in your tools breakdown ☺️👍🏻
Thanks so much! It's a Fusion360 app called A360: a360.autodesk.com/ I'll add a link to the video description!
that El driver, you can make it brighter but adding more voltage to it, Try an 18650 li-ion
Oh interesting idea!
Nice Homestar Runner reference!
😋
I might try this with some SMDs and printed diffusion panel!
Go for it!
You do know it is best to take off supports on a resin print before you cure and after you wash. Less likely to have those bumps and they come off so much easier.
defo making this
Yeah! Share what you make with us on Twitter: twitter.com/chinbeard
To get the details to show up really well without making it look dirty you could use a Gundam Marker. They do a pencil like tool specifically for fine lines.
Oh neat!
My favorite is the badassium arc reactor
hey. First great video. My question is which LED light do you use because you can cut it? Can't find a link for the light
if you trim off the support before you uv cure the print, you get fewer nubs to be sanded off.
on pla - I can get doen to 0.04mm layer heights. resin prints are generally (in my experience) very weak. although you do get expensive tough resins that preform close to pla/abs
Yeah it's really interesting how different brands and types of the same material perform totally differently!
igor or mark 38 has my favorite arc reactor and armor design
Nice!
In fact, if we do this by cutting the iron with a cnc, if we put a touch sensor, we can create a led circuit that lights up when we touch it twice, I think it makes sense.
please make this a series where you make like half a dozen of your favorite reactors and a fancy display case for them all
That would be pretty neat! I think I'll make some more things before I make another Arc reactor though.
Hey Bill, I'm working on a Gambit cosplay and I have tried a few different ideas for a glowing playing card using EL wire around the edges of a piece of sanded acrylic sheet, and a couple of ideas using LEDs, but none of them are working out very well, do you think this type of EL panel would lend itself well to making a glowing playing card? If not do you have any suggestions?
Proof that Tony stark has a heart
I actually love your vids I’d do love him create Jon snows long claw next
Thanks so much! That is a really neat sword for sure.
My fav arc reactor is the first one he made in the cave.
Great work man. You could have ran all the power to the support plate and used magnets as contact points so that when the piece sits on ur chest it can be powered but u can also remove it from ur chest with out having a dangling cable that needs to run through ur shirt
Thanks!
The one from the end of Iron Man 3. I've always liked that version
Nice!
I like the classic, arc reactor.
The mark 1 arc reactor is the best!
It is a great one!
Nice
Thanks!
Hey :) I'm building this right now after being inspired by your video, and I'm just up to the magnet part, but the link in the description says the product is no longer available. What are the dimensions for the little magnets? Great work, super excited to have mine finished, thank you for all your amazing work!!
Ah dang, sorry about that. I'm not sure off the top of my head, but you should be able to measure the openings to get a rough idea
I wish there was someplace locally I could go to pickup all electronic bits, when I need them. Generally if I wait a couple days for shipping, I've lost excitement in the project. I miss Radio Shack.
Yeah that can be tough for sure
