    Biff Busick (Oney Lorcan) is a damn good worker. Love that guy on a personal level, and have worked on many a show with him when he was still at home in the Northeast. Hell of a talent. Hell of a guy too.

    Jim would probably love what they've been doing with Thatcher on the weekly TV, too, with his "Thatch Wrestling" lessons. He's playing the sadistic wrestling trainer to the hilt, *and* helping get more basic catch and submission wrestling moves over by explaining what makes them so excruciating as he stretches the trainees like a rubber band. Two, three minutes, builds his character, helps educate the fanbase as to a style that's been rather de-emphasized for a good thirty years, and gives the PC trainees some on-camera time? That's a brilliant way to use TV time.

    I know Cornette wants nothing to do with WWE anymore, but it wouldn’t hurt to make amends with each other and send him to NXT at least once a month. The hall of famers, not just talent...HALL OF FAMERS...he mentored is ungodly.
    Guy’s a tripwire, but he’s the greatest trainer/mentor ever by way of the legends he taught and mentored, and at all sizes and styles

    • @DecemberGuy77
      @DecemberGuy77 Před 3 lety +2

      In terms of work rate, most of the OVW crew were trained by Danny Davis & Dr. Tom. Corny's strengths are not in Talent development or
      Talent spotting. His strengths are in booking and promos. I could see him offering a promo course, but he's pissed off so many people that it may not be worth it.

      His knowledge of how TV works, timing, booking, selling, comebacks, where everything goes in the gist of a story, all of it is ridiculous. Maybe the physical end of training is Dr. Tom, and he is great, but watch Smokey Mountain and OVW. Two shows he ran, and both picture perfect production for the low budget.

    • @rdfox76
      @rdfox76 Před 3 lety +1

      I loved the match, too, but I also understand Corny's response to it--it definitely didn't go into high gear; when I was watching it live, I was a little surprised it ended when it did, because I was expecting it to go another five minutes or so with some more high-octane stuff for the finish. I'm not *complaining* that it ended when it did--it was done right to put Thatcher over convincingly while still keeping Lorcan strong--but they certainly didn't go all-out because, well, this was an undercard match that wasn't about showing everything they could do, it was about building up Thatcher and whetting people's appetite for a rematch in the future.

    WWE always has three announcers at the desk for a reason. One of them is color; one of them is straight; and the third is there to learn how to do the job. That third person can then become the color or straight broadcaster on another team. They were finding it hard to train new announcers "on-the-job" when there weren't two other people at the desk to cover for them if they were screwing up.

  • @skelington50

    This is pure technical. Mat based wrestling. Both Thatcher and Lorcan were equally terrific. You're used to seeing high spots and dives, this is pure and more in tune with those who love chain wrestling. Thatcher I can see him as a heel who doesn't give a shit and would crack your head open when he has the opportunity to do so. I wanna see what he can do against Drew Gulak or Daniel Bryan. Timothy is a mix of Bruno Sammartino with Dean Malenko, he's physically and technically impressive. I think anyone can have a great match with him and regardless whether they win or lose, will get a great reaction with him in the ring. If anyone gets the chance to, check out Thatcher vs Lorcan during their time Beyond Wrestling; highly recommend it.

I was totally shocked when he signed with WWE though. That just seems like a really bad fit. He doesn't cut a lot of promos, and is a throwback wrestler, rather than a "sports entertainer". Couldn't agree more with you.Rock,Steve Austin,Hogan were average wrestler but their character,charisma and mic skills made them over with the casuals.I am not gonna watch a wrestling match if I am not interested in their character. Can you imagine Undertaker without character.Pro wrestling is scripted aka fake if I wanted to great wrestling matches,I would watch real wrestling
