Oh my god, I just realized that the fight music in this boss fight is a version of "For Who's Sake" from Yakuza 1 when you fought Nishiki at the end of the game. DAMN...

Well they fight here for a good reason, and afterwards, don't hate each other. Nishki assumed Majima was going to kill Makoto and Kiryu, but afterward, they worked together.

This was my first Yakuza game and had no knowledge of the others, I remember Nishiki being so valiant in protecting his friend and Reina sticking by him so well that I was quite torn up when fighting this battle. I think that is a testament to the game's narrative quality in that this was able to work so well for new and experienced players in different ways.
I like how Nishikis heat aura in this game is more of a mix of white and blue,showing good,but in kiwami his heat aura is a black a blue storm,showing how he's fallen.
@Florida Man I mean there nothing really else he can do since when nishiki does that move he counters any punch you throw at him, in which why’d he taunted, taunting give you heat meter which is helpful for heat actions and staying fast in general. If it is the other way around then ya pretty cringe

this fight was dead easy. played on hard(first playthrough), and beaten nishiki's ass in just a few min. by the time the qte started and passed, nishiki was already 1 hit away from being KO
This fight is easy as long as u can dodge him, he doesn’t have good stun resistance. Kuze is way harder, since he can break your combo easily and stunlock you
@@Isiauwuehrifi Only you actually respect Kuze as a threat most of the time. Vs Nishiki I was expecting somewhat of a joke battle, where he's basically just a thug with high health.
The only competent friendly video game AI I can think of are the RWS staff from Postal 2 and even then they can’t handle a bunch of enemies without help from the player.

1985 Shimano Family was a Dojima branch, so technically Majima is NishiKiryu aniki. Yakuza 4 Majima says he’s Dojima Family when he talks to Shibata(while Saejima is killing Ueni Seiwa Clan)
I dont think nishiki and kiryu were yakuza during the ueno seiwa. 1988 is when they joined and by then shimano split from dojima after the jingweon massacre.
I felt really bad while beating up Nishiki as Majima. And yes, I know what he becomes after this game (I've played the series since the original on PS2). It just didn't feel right to wreck him at this point of the story, especially after what had just happened with Tachibana and the Kazama clan. Likewise, I did NOT enjoy beating the shit out of Kashiwagi. HELL NO. That one really felt bad if you've played the other games (especially Y3).
I got so emotionally attached to Nishiki to the point that I legit teared up during this fight because I felt so bad for harming him. Fun fight regardless, but I will always remember that feeling for Nishiki at this point of the story.

If you succeed at the QTE when Reina passes Nishiki the bottle of medicine, Majima will smack him out of the way, catch it himself, and drink it in front of him. Best QTE in the game, had me laughing my ass off.
The other day I finished again this game, pure fun and all, but I was surprised of how easy is to fight Nishiki with the breaker style, he couldn't even stand up lol

I’m convinced that it was intended to be a Nishiki/Majima game, but the Nishiki part of it is portrayed through the eyes of Kiryu, so you the player develop the bond with Nishiki vicariously Which is why when you play Kiwami after, it hurts so much more finishing this, cause you see why Kiryu held him so high in regard and how much he means to him
Zzzolapa maybe it's supposed to be prediction attack? Enemies can't block from behind in a lot of cases, so an attempt at stopping that. Though it doesnt seem to be helping.

I absolutely smashed Nishki in Legend difficulty, I even stopped crushing him in Breaker and switched to Thug just to let him get some hits on me.
