Very straightforward and clear video. Thanks for taking the time to make it.
Contemplated having the front a rear brakes and rotors done at my local repair shop. Price quote of $500. Purchased the parts for less than $200 and watched this video and 1A Autoâs rear brake replacement video a few times. Excellent instructional videos, completed job and save approx: $300.00, thank you 1A Auto!!!!!!!!!!!

If you about to DIY you may as well do it the right way. Lube those caliber bolts whether it needs it or not because your next pads change won't be another 40K miles and that is a long time.
Thank you for this extra info...super helpful!
Really appreciate the details like adding the grease to the slide pins and torques
Thanks. Just bought an '03 . Got to get them changed out .
Thanks for checking us out. 1aauto.com
Just changed mine and it was exactly like this awesome, clear, well done video!

Your video made it simple as 123.
No anti-seize for the hub no grease for the pins. No grease for the slides. Just a couple things you missed.
Love your vids. You helped me with my Mazda 6 and now with my 1st Gen Pilot. Gotta love that New England salt. Body's rotting off but my brakes are A-OK!đ

@@1AAuto I do, I do đ You guys have pretty good quality suspension parts, IMO.
Great Video: lighting, audio, explanation. Thanks!
Front brake caliper bolts 80ft lb
Rear caliper bolts 41ft lb
Caliper pins are 27ft lb
Yw.
Do themes screws need to be taken off the rotor for it to come off or is my rotor just that rusted
Thanks man! Is it bad that when i compressed the piston something was leaking near the engine?
Great video, Do the new rotors need to be turned down or checked before installation?
No
YES!!!!! Thank You ALOT!!!!
SO MUCH!!!!
This was EXTREMELY Helpful.
Your vide helped me out ALOT!!!!

This video was a huge help. Thank you!
+Cj Keeney Thank you for your positive feedback! We are happy we could help.
You didnât mention to make sure the hub is completely clean of rust and dirt on the mounting surface or the rotor could wobble. Also if you donât replace the retaining screws when you change rotors a bit of rust or dirt can fall in between the hub and rotor and be trapped in there?
+Ron Laduke Thanks for the tip! We'll pass this info along to our production team.
Great video, helped a lot! Thanks for helping me save some bucks.
I noticed those pads had the spring holes, are the springs not important?
Nice video. Thank you!
Thanks for the Video, it was very informative.
brand new pads and rotors and those tires have zero tread left on them đ âsafety firstâ
Thx for sharing this super nice 7star video

Super helpful sir, thank you
+carlos vazques Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
I have the pads with the wear indicator on the outside is that okay? They still fit perfectly
No big deal
What if you canât get the 12mm bolt off after you have gotten the tire off.?
+Tyree mendez Normally that isn't an issue.
same prob
I'm never paying someone to do this again. Question: Is there any benefit to cleaning the caliper? It looked so dirty and rusty next to that new rotor.
I just wanted to clean it so bad while you were lifting it.
+Lost Below The Fold Thanks for watching! Other than cleaning the caliper clips and slide pins there is no real benefit to cleaning the caliper itself. It just looks a bit nicer! 1aauto.com
No better time to clean it wouldnât hurt
Great vid much appreciated!

Iâm just here for the torque specs⌠thanks
Why wouldn't you clean and re grease the slides with new grease?
To prevent the caliper from seizing in the bracket.
What if i dont have a torque wrench? Is there a second way?
+Christian Guerrero you might be able to borrow/rent one from a tool store. It's recommended to get a torque wrench to ensure proper torque on all bolts
I been working on cars for 20 years. Only time I used a torque wrench was when rebuilding an engine.
@@stevenmalvasio5639 LOL Came to say the same!
I put the new brakes on but my caliper wonât fit back on what do I do ?
+Israel Torres We wouldn't be able to help with that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Please be sure the caliper is all the way compressed. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
You didn't grease the back of the pads, how one ?
Why not ?
What size c clamp do I need!
+marco martinez The how to just states Large C Clamp:
General Tools
Floor Jack
Jack Stands
Large C-Clamp
Rubber Mallet
Wire Brush
Video part 3:41 was not very clear...you are showing hitting the wrench downward on the top caliper bolt (17mm). Next time, i think it's better to mention the direction to loosen the bolts. Other than that, Great video. Thanks
Well common sense says Righty tighty lefty loose
@@seanklotzbach1090common sense ainât common
At 27 ft/lbs my caliper pin screw broke x2.
You have to wipe the cleaner off or it just evaporates and leaves the contaminates right where they were.
You didn't even take rotor screws out, that's only reason i was watching video lol
+David Sandine Thanks for the feedback!
@@1AAuto Agreed, the rotor screws are the biggest issue when replacing rotors as a DIY project. How do you recommend freeing up those pesky screws that don't want to come out?
@@epicace102 Hammer drill with proper bit should do the trick. Those bolts suck so bad.
The brake hardware is cheap enough, just replace it
+Richard Clark Thanks for checking us out! 1AAuto.com
My piston won't go back into the caliper. Works fine on my right front brake but having issues with the left front brake. Help?
David Stapleford usually sign that caliper piston is binding. Time to replace it.
Or he's not using a c clamp.
I noticed that you did not put those rotor screws....
+frata01 Thank you for checking us out. The two center rotor screws are not a necessity, and are used for manufacturing purposes at the factory. The use of the caliper pressure, and the lug nuts torque will keep the rotor in place. 1aauto.com
Excellent DIY video! Very clear on everything
