    I just ordered a raceseng shift knob for my 2020. I should've just bought a mgw shifter but I'm still under warranty and if my mt82 shits the bed Ford will probably blame the aftermarket shifter. Thanks for the video. The only thing I'll do different is pull up the center console in order to pop out the dust boot attachment.

      Hey sorry you are having issues Juan! Were you able to get it? If not, check to make sure there isn't any debris in the way of the clips. That's all I can really think could be the culprit.

    Thanks for the video, it was very helpful. I've recently bought a mustang gt 2015 with manual transmission. It's ok, but has some issues. One of them was that I had to rise the lockout ring in order to put first and second gear. I couldn't figure out the issue until I saw your video. My car doesn't have that black cylinder below that supports the white ring, so the ring falls down, that's why I have to rise the lockout ring to first and second gears. I was able to put a plastic ring in the bar and that did the trick. However, I'd like to put that black cylinder original piece, but I can't even find the name of it. Any help with this would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    mine is loose so it makes metal sounds when I shift gears and I hate that I have to do this to fix it. my local ford dealer said he doesnt know what it could be and that it might be very costly to do it....

    • @TrickShiftGarage

      Could be the shift forks or something internal. Good luck man, let us know how it goes.

      @@TrickShiftGarage no its not as bad as I described it its just the lock out collar being lose I think. My car shifts good but its annoying to hear this loose metal sound all the time while shifting :D

    • @TrickShiftGarage
      @TrickShiftGarage  Před rokem

      Oh I see. These lockout collars are cheaply made. The metal one from Steeda is perfect! If I buy another Mustang, that will be my first upgrade.

    I'm having an issue where my gt can shift into reverse without pulling up first on the the shifter, and now to shift i have to carefully move it into each gear, will this fix this problem?

    • @TrickShiftGarage
      @TrickShiftGarage  Před rokem

      Hello lowMax_ICON, I don't think that's your issue to be completely honest. Sounds like there's an issue with your shifter forks or something internal. However, if I was in your shoes I would give it a shot. It's a relatively cheap part and looks and feels 100 times better than factory. And if for some reason it does solve your issue, then you just saved a ton of money compared to something else that could be wrong.
      It's up to you either way. Please let us know how you fix it when you do because I know I personally would like to know what's causing your issue.
