  • I removed a stripped out nut and bolt on the Scag Tiger Cat 2. This is the spindle bolt that holds the mower blades on to the spindle. I had to cut the old one off to be able to put on a new nut and bolt. After I removed the old blades, I sharpened them on our RBG 712 blade sharpener and then balanced them on a blade balancer.

Did you just cut the nut off that and ruined the spindle bolt, instead of putting a wrench on the bolt head underneath the deck to hold it in place while you remove the nut?

It was stripped already. That’s why I had to cut it! The nut would spin and spin and not get any looser.

I've never had this problem in 20 years, but An impact works wonders

I think someone over tightened with an impact. Stripping the threads.
