Music video by The Rolling Stones performing Doom And Gloom. (C) 2012 Promotone B.V., under exlusive licence to Universal International Music B.V. - Hudba
People always say the Stones new stuff sucks, but this song kicks ass.
I agree. I'm not a massive stones fan but this song is my favorite of theirs, however it is the only exception in terms of their recent stuff, all of the other stones songs I listen to are the classics

Holly shit this was released only a few yrs ago shit, they still got it
They've always put out great singles, but they haven't really made a solid album since Tattoo You.
RIP Charlie, Legend.
Drums will forever go boom boom boom 💥

Mick has more energy than a guy in his 20s
Mick, age? LMAO
Yeah.... I saw them at a live concert a few years ago and all of them have a lot of energy; they jump and run on the stage like kids...
Sadly true in some cases.
That’s unironically the whole point of this song
So true!
Holy shit, grandpas be rockin it like the seventies!

And better than most of the music today!!!

NO DOUBT!
This video is further proof that the Stones could be a HUNDRED years old and they would still be the BEST God damn Rock & Roll band ever.
LegoGuy87 Floyd isn’t even on the same level as the Stones the Stones are way better
@LegoGuy87 now way rolling stones rule they are awesome.
HaHaHa you forget Queen huh 🤘🏻♾🙂

And probably the last one still standing whenever PoP-turds tok over the music industry.
As a Stones' fan since 1963 I am still amazed what they produce time after time...
Produce what? Drug driven shit?
me too! JUST UN**CKING BELIEVABLE AND RELEVANT TO THE TIMES, NOW, TODAY!
Jeez. You are so lucky. Born 1966 and only found Stones in 1983! Jeez! I missed so much. Seen them live 3 times but not as lucky as you! Respect man!
Not bad for a bunch of old guys

Gahan2Vox It's not the genre but the horribly cliche shit in every music.
Gahan2Vox you know now a days there is some good rock music like greenday or the offspring that are not one hit wonders (i dont count those) but i do suppose that they are more punk rock but they are still ok on the modern back drop even compered to some of the oldies
+Karlis Berzins your just stupid man. period!c

Mick Jagger is gonna be 80 is five years and he still rocks like its the 60s

Lyrics
I had a dream last night
That I was piloting a plane
And all the passengers were drunk and insane
I crash landed in a Louisiana swamp
Shot up a horde of zombies
But I come out on top
What's it all about?
Guess it just reflects my mood
Sitting in the dirt
Feeling kind of hurt
When all I hear is doom and gloom
And all is darkness in my room
Through the light your face I see
Baby take a chance
Baby won't you dance with me
Lost all that treasure in an overseas war
It just goes to show you, don't get what you paid for
Battle to the rich and you worry about the poor
Put my feet up on the couch
And lock all the doors
Hear a funky noise
That's the tightening of the screws
I'm feeling kind of hurt
Sitting in the dirt
All I hear is doom and gloom
But when those drums go boom boom boom
And through the night your face I see
Baby take a chance
Baby won't you dance with me
Yeah
Baby won't you dance with me
Ah yeah
Fracking deep for oil
But there's nothing in the sump
There's kids all picking
Ar the garbage dumb
I'm running out of water
So I better prime the pump
I'm trying to stay sober
But I end up drunk
We'll be eating dirt
Living on the side of the road
There's some food for thought
Kinda makes your head explode
Feeling kind of hurt
Yeah
But all I hear is doom and gloom
And all is darkness in my room
Through the night your face I see
Baby come on
Baby won't you dance with me
Yeah
Yeah
Baby won't you dance with me
I'm feeling kind of hurt
Baby won't you dance with me
Yeah
Come on
Baby won't you dance with me
I'm sitting in the dirt
Baby won't you dance with me!
I wonder why they never released more songs with this style. An entire album with this sound would be amazing.
Dirty Work. Much maligned but fantastic and in this vein.
Mick did a solo album. Wandering Spirit. It has some of this influence.
They did, it is called Exile on Main Street. The style you seek is driven by open tuning of the guitars (well, at least Keith's, but in this case, Mick's too). Exile was almost all open G tuning, which also accounted for half the tunes on Sticky Fingers. Keef was more open E and D on Let it Bleed and Beggars. Make no mistake, it was open tuning of the Keef's guitar that made the Rolling Stones "The Greatest Rock n Roll Band in the World." And, while it lasted, Mick Taylors bluesy lead guitar work.
Black crowed open tuning
I could probably talk to for hrs dude
Rolling stones = Infinity stones
Only Jagger has moves like Jagger.
agreed. don't need to put a guitar in his hands...leave that to keith
2HHB Exactly! i just dont like the fact that jagger uses a guitar, he should be dancing around, doing his shit.
NO ONE will have moves like Jagger!
Damn right. These are true rockers, right here.
Adam Livine does(Just Kidding) lol of course he ain't got Mick Jagger's moves Adam Livine got the Bitch moves that's what he got
I will never tire of listening to this masterpiece.
👍👍👍👍
I love the Stones, they're also making new music 🎶 🎵, keeping them relevant in the music industry 🎉🎉. The Stones are forever the best band in the world 🌎
Jagger, front and centre...there's no one on the planet to touch him. Never has been, never will be.
Freddie runs him a close second, but Jagger is the front man of all front men.
i can't believe people their age can still rock. they're awesome.
I cant believe they're still alive >.< But may they keep rocking!!
I hope so
Davin Alaniz you wanna bet 👍😀✌🏃💥
most of my favorite bands are older than me or dead lol
70s is still young I don't think anyone should worry about death till 80s at least
The world's greatest rock and roll band
RIP Charlie. You were one hell of a drummer. One of my inspirations to learn the skins myself. Hope you're rocking out in the great blue sky! 🤘✌
I was just to write that i dont think that drums sound be able Charlie. Charlie, most at final years sounds like a metalic bowl being hitting and charles....
This is when guys in age of my grandfather are rocking more than any band today.
so true.
Anyone else excited for the next album?
+Questhero101 who isn't?
+Questhero101 i'm very excited for the next album :3
+Questhero101 : Damn Brother, I can't wait.
yes
+Questhero101 even god is excited, who do you think is allowing it to happen? Have you looked at Keith Richards?
Oldies sounding like 25. Rocking harder than most of the modern music.
- Lead Vocal and Percussion: Mick Jagger
- Guitars: Mick Jagger, Ron Wood & Keith Richards
- Drums: Charlie Watts
- Bass: Darryl Jones
- Keyboards: Chuck Leavell
- Synthesizer: Jeff Bhasker
- Drum programing: Emile Haynie
They still have it.
Scott6794 damnnn yeah!
Scott6794 count on that they have it
Mick Jagger sings with such force and moves his hips along with the rest of his body to the song. Keith Richards plays his guitar like a pirate drunk off rum, cocaine & herion. Ronnie Wood just groves to & fo with his guitar to the rhyme so well. Charlie Watts commands his hands to the drumsticks beat perfectly to bring the song of Doom and Gloom alive!! ❤the Rolling Stones 💋
Maureen Maloney
Here here!!!✌✌🎸🎷🎷🎷 excellent ☘😀😀
one of their best song since 30 years
This was the best thing they did in years.
Mick's vocal could have been from any Stones era... extraordinary performance considering his age..
I look at these guys and come to realize that age means NOTHING, haha. I saw them live back in 94', if you've never seen these guys live, you are missing out!
+StormLaker1975 Fan since 1999 (my birthyear) because of my dad and i saw them twice live. Once in Amsterdam and last year at Pinkpop. That last concert was fucking awesome
I've been a lifelong fan going back to my tater tot days in the 70's. My dad loved them from when he was in high school in the 60's. The Stone's are true rock n' roll survivors, and they just get better and better!
+StormLaker1975 Pretty much! My mom saw them in '81 and she still loves them, she owns a bunch of vintage Rollling Stones pins from the 80's, they were hers, and they still are (well, I wear some on my jean jacket, but they're still hers)
Hell Yeah!
You are right age means nothing to them, they are just hitting their stride.
Charlie ,you gotta love that guy,he is the coolest guy in the band
Always looking calm and collected, but we know he's insane
As always just chilling in the back keeping the beat.
you got that right!
My favorite
No Charlie no Stones, especially since Bill left.
They just keep doing it over and over again. At least half of the Stones output over the years going back to the seventies has been "the best stones album in years ". Tattoo You blew my mind! Some Girls Undercover Bigger Bang
Yet another fine example of:
When all the kids at school think they're so awesome, but you know that your grandad is cooler than all of them combined
Yes definitely
The first song they wrote As Tears Go By talks about kids doing things we used to do that they think are new... So ironic.
Noomi Rapace and The Rolling Stones. There's anything more cool than that!
AKA Elizabeth Shaw
Aka Lisbeth The girl with the dragon tattoo Salander.
More cool - it`s The Rolling Stones without Noomi Rapace
I'm 35 and this is probably the Best Rock Song I've heard in a long time
And 10 years later, they're still rocking!!!! The new record is amazing..!!! RIP Charlie, what a hell of a drummer!!!
Perfect Stones tune.....they never fail to deliver !!! ❤
The rolling Stones will NEVER die. We need more music like this.

Mick was 69 when he recorded this... shit man.
So sad when I see the greatest drummer in these songs, may he rest in peace ❤️🙏🏻😥
Underrated gem right here.
Play this loud all the time in the car, BUT the first time I listened with headphones, I noticed Charlie doing that tom-tom beat during the opening riff, & the verses - pure GENIUS ! Rolling Stones, you ARE the greatest rocknroll band in the world EVER. THANK YOU, Mick, Keith, Charlie, Ronnie, and Bill, Brian, Mick T, and the Stones sessioners. Keep on rockin' - for all of us (been with you since I was a little child in the sixties).
The Stones were never about showing off chops, or glass-cracking vocals. They wrote & played great songs that touched our souls, and they overcame the petty differences that broke up other bands just so they could keep on rockin' - for us & for the sake of modern music which they helped invent. THAT is why they are the greatest. THAT is why they never lost their mojo. God bless them.
Jagger still full of angst piss and vinegar...what an inspiration 70 and kicking ass..this band has no equals period!!!
These guys are still freaking awesone. Best rock band ever!
I saw the Stones on the 20th Anniversary tour ..Still life 1981…the media called it an end of an era..that was 40 years ago.
great song! these guys wrote this at 66 years of age. very talented.
Why was this song not an international Number One hit back in 2012? It's about time that the TV stations axed these shitty reality music TV shows and pushed more bands like this into the Top 40 again.
One of my favorites of theirs. Was surprised to get such a rockin kick ass song so late in their career . Saw the tour they played this and it is killer live.
These cats are writing as well as when they were in their 20’s. Nobody’s done that before. I’m so glad to been sharing the planet at the same time ❤️
This song put me in a good mood. Damn I love Rolling Stones
Got to love Charlie, 50 years later he's still there, unassuming down-to-business and rocking out.
I'm so glad to have the stones in my generation.... LEGEND ♥️
So raw. Rewind 20 years to the era before producers were the artists.
Still the world's greatest rock and roll band! Love this song and video!
Who could have imagined the Stones could still sound this good?? LOVE THIS!!
***** watched it again...Missed it,
NICE WORK,
They're the only ones that can. Think about it.
The Who would be closest but isn't. Quite far off.
Zach is great. Pete's great on guitar but not vocally. Roger, well, you never know. Some song parts good vocally, some not, sometimes he can't sing worth squat and they need to drop it... for good. Can't even hear the bass guitar . They're also propped up by phenomenal orchestras that shouldn't have to be. Sounds great,
but uneccessary
Houston got cancelled a few years ago: Roger's voice.
I think mankind should be grateful that in this age of (c)Rap that there are still MUSICIANS that can write and play music, with lyrics that make sense.
if you like this you might like my brother’s music. his name is Stu Morris and 'Daisy' is a good song by him....
This is what real rock sounds like....
Amazing song, haven't lost their touch at all!
Soundtrack
Jagger is last rock-n-roll hero.
What about John Fogerty,Paul McCartney or Ringo Starr
...and the last great rock performer.
100 % ! The last and the greatest - never to be repeated! Can't believe that Dartford, Kent spawned such a talent !
NO he is NOT....how about a little known band....LED ZEPPELIN
Still showing these young punks what rock 'n' roll is all about. Awesome!
Greta Van Fleet does a pretty good job of that LZ/stones/rush sounds
The Rolling Stones are the greatest rock and roll and blues band ever and always will be forever
After Primal Scream
AGREED ROBERT EMMS,NO BAND CAN TOUCH THE ROLLING STONES, NOBODY.......!!!!!!!!@
I was in Afghanistan when this was released in 2013. Always reminds me of the place, especially the line: 'Lost all that treasure in an overseas war. It just goes to show you, don't get what you paid for.'
President Karzai mentioned blood & treasure in a speech to President Obama.
There's so much more to this song than just music.
Make no mistake, these guys changed music back in the 60' and 70's and are not to be underestimated despite age!

Hey, all you senior citizens out there with old musical aspirations buried in your pillow at night...stay trim, work out, and if you can sing or play....the dream still ain't that far off. These guys prove it -- especially Mick. Even if they weren't famous -- they sound quite impressive. Keith doesn't give arthritis a chance to take up residence in his gnarly fingers. These grandpas are nuclear powered and don't miss a trick. It's all about attitude...they have it. Their waistlines are still competitive. They are not reading AARP magazine. Get up out of that chair Gramps -- while the youngsters try to cut a rug...you pick up the guitar and make it sizzle and cry. I am over 60 -- and I still hit the skins. Best cardio in the world. And The Rolling Stones are not even the oldest rockers performing today but they certainly do wear their Rock and Roll faces well.
yeah, gramps, these guys look like they died 9 years ago,but still rocking.good for them.
John LaStrada well done!!!
*John LaStrada* ____Yup....you and seemingly other tens of thousands , are starstruck flabbergasted how these limousine driven millionares, manage to stay upright....during their charmed lives....while some other sillies are impressed how some wage slaves manage to enjoy a few measly years of pension after years of back breaking work....
Just like Hugh Hefner ,these dudes will still amaze us till they're 90........Ok John, I'll take you up on that chalenge.....but only if you provide the limos , personal trainers, expensive vitamin concoctions, hair extensions, the ability to chase the sun through the whole year , *and* ofcourse, the indispensable thrice a week masseuses to keep my aging legs flexible....
.......Bytheway ,just like these grandpas ,I can't guarantee though, that the music I keep on brewing, will be up to par with that of thirty years ago.....otherwise....I'm all up for it.....See you next week......
Ha ha. Great post John.
*jaime* _____Apart from Richards they still look good ofcourse Jaime, it wouldn't antimatter how they looked, if only the bloody music was palatable......
Within the first 23 seconds this became my favorite music video.
I dont know if its just me but i cant get happier when i drive a muscle car and listen to Stones
can't believe this song is 11 years old already.
rolling stones forever!
The Stones are a blues band who play rock and roll. The older you are in the blues game the more credibility you have. It is one of those rare pop art forms that you can age with.
Mr. Jagger has been accepted as the rockstar who has the best stage performance.
I'm glad Charlie Watts lived long enough to record new songs in MY lifetime! RIP
Sad to see they're old but I'm happy they're rocking like teenagers and that voice is phenomenal.

“If you think Mickey Jagger is going to be dancing around the stage when he is 45 years old…you are sadly, sadly mistaken”…love that quote from Almost Famous.
the difference between the stones and other bands is that no matter how old they get, their songs don't suddenly fall in quality
He hasn't change...not one bit! Have seen this awesome band before. Jagger works the whole stage & every time & every second. Rock on the Stones! No band will every come close to these rock n rollin band! Love the ROLLING STONES! !
