I just beat this game tonight and I gotta say Best battle system of any game I've played, and aside from lack of save points and some really painful dungeons (goddamn Obelisk) it's a game that's still fun today. Definitely will be revisiting in the future, though it'll probably be the remaster lol.

I like how nice nocturne seems to have kagutsuchi just waste his turns telling you his spiel, until you realize it's a secret warning (to have your buffs and debuffs up, goddamn)
@@Neogears1312 freikugel is a physical almighty skill. (Hence why it's so broken) Game just doesn't explicitly state that it is also physical. It does get buffed by focus though. otherwise the game would tell you that focus is still in effect after you used freikugel, but it doesn't say that. It does another focus instead, meaning the initial focus was used on the freikugel. It also says "pierced" when you use it against Lucifer and pierce only affects physical attacks. The same is true for Dante's stinger and Raidou's tekisatsu. Both of these skills are treated as both physical and almighty, hence why they can pierce.
Imagine if the Demi-fiend managed to get into Smash and at the end of his Classic mode route you square off against Galeem with this playing in the background God, that would be legendary.
I'd nut if Demi-Fiend got in. But I wouldn't be surprised that if an SMT rep got in, it'd be the new guy. Having an SMT rep in general would be cool tho.

The way demi-fiend's body spasms uncontrollably when firing freikugel while this absolute BANGER plays is one of the best feelings in the fucking game I swear.
Kagutsuchi’s “Gods Light” shimmers a wee bit of Gods divine power onto the team. It’ll kill everyone without all the buffs, or almost kill. Notice that even the Seraphs, who are of the light, are not immune/resistant to God’s light. They perish all the same.
I know this has nothing to do with Shin Megami Tensei but I think the 1999 comedy movie dogma with alan rickman and i think jay and silent bob are in it too among other famous actors, puts it the best, that absolutely nothing can comprehend the voice of god. it is so powerful that it can cause severe damage to anyone and anything immediately destroying lesser beings if you do not protect against it (the movie shows a clear cut example). Nor do i think even the highest beings of light could ever stand after being exposed to the full raw power of light that is gods might. The lord is just that incomprehensibly powerful.
i think my favorite thing about this track is that it feels like the most upbeat song in the game, it has a tone of "now it's time to let loose" that it's trying to convey to the player.
If Demi-Fiend could talk, i imagine him saying something along this lines in the Freedom Ending: My home was destroyed, turned into this hellhole that made my friends crazy, i also got turned into a fucking monstrosity and you expect me to follow your goddamn plans?! To hell with this, i'm going to take my life back!

The Genshit Impact Whale's Knight battle scenario reminded me of this boss so I came here to play this song instead since the default one was pretty bad
it'd be hilarious if there was like a bonus animation in the new SMT where kagutsuchi and ame no sagiri are throwing a huge disco party and everyone from SMT was there, kind of like the final episode of .hack SIGNS (worst anime ever except for the final episode, because its full of fan service).

Focus doesn’t buff freikugel. Only attacks that are explicitly physical get the buff like gaea rage.

Well kagutsuchi wasn’t meant to be an adversary, but a final test to determine whether you had the willpower and strength to create a new world.
