This song may be the greatest thing I've ever heard!
Going back for seconds. Good stuff.
I’m just here to say that Nick’s harmonies in “Two Notes Torpedo Captor” were top notch
This is hands down one of the best episodes yet.
The mystery knob is a passive bass roll off, and is featured on most Reverend instruments.
could you tell how to find the part name/schematics? sounds cool.
It’s kinda like having a very light high pass filter to sculpt out the low end of the tone (reverends are made of korina wood, dark sounding wood), it absolutely provides a new dimension of tone
@@anthonyamarcione776 tonewood myth, really?
@@jat5am not really a myth? Tell me how two pieces of different woods made into guitar bodies are gonna sound the same? You can’t even guarantee two chunks of the same tree will sound the same
It's easy to copy, with common ,available, parts.I've installed bass roll offs in several Partscasters over the last decade.
My favourite part of this stream was Josh at the end, sitting back casually and creating sonic dissonance, benevolently pleased as he surveyed the chaos he wrought and somehow not being hit by every nerf that came his way. Brilliant.
That was great... and most people try not to shoot the boss, especially as he was unarmed.
@@JimDibb most people aren’t me obviously…
@@shaynejoseph1527 Whatever works for you
To me, you guys really represent what playing music always meant to me. Hanging out in a garage, playing for fun! Not striving for perfection just playing. It's great to see people playing well, but not the usual over rehearsed ultra processed CZcams perfection people seem to think we all want. We don't, we just want real people playing because it's fun.
Josh is the most under-rated guitar player on CZcams.
Damn that boy can play.
The Captor X made my life way better. It's such an important part of my rig. I live in an apartment, and I can get legit big turned up amp and pedal tones through headphones, and they really do sound like they're coming from a well mic'd cab (after some tweaking in the app). I went to a dude with some recording experience to make an ep early last year, and the guitars on it could definitely sound way better, unfortunately. I wish I'd had the Captor for that project. It also works great live. Anyone who's on the fence should really go for it. It's totally worth saving up for.
This is a review that really helps thanks man
Thank you so much for this review. I have to use headphones because I have a toddler who wakes easy and I have yet to find a good rig for headphones, and it's a bit of a niche thing so I've had bad luck finding a review of something specifically as a headphone amp sim.
I'm using a zoom g1x four right now and it's ehhhhh. It was highly reviewed, but clearly not for it's headphone applications.
@@fatocaster97 Yeah, I have a 6 year old, and a wife who is a light sleeper, so I mostly actually jam at night when they've gone to bed. Prior to owning the Captor, I'd have to go to my parents' and play for no more than about an hour and a half or maybe 2 hours in the afternoon. Keep in mind, the headphones I'm using are pretty decent. I prefer open backs. Anyway, glad I could help!
@@Matthewtaylorn Same here! Wife is a light sleeper and I've never even bothered taking my drums home from my parent's house lol
Absolute game changer.
notes:
- limoncello is the best flavor, hands down, no competition
- the bass rolloff knob on reverends is really good
- nick's lighting being drastically different is pretty funny
- yelling at each other that no one cares about the drinks is the correct bit
thanks
I too cracked open a limoncello, and it too changed my life. We'll just play nice and leave it at that.
That lost coalminer time traveler jam was ridiculously good. I have the Echo System and it's my favorite pedal.........Ok, OK, the morning glory is but then the echo system.
I've had my Boss SY 200 now since its release late Jan. It has become my favorite pedal ever. Every time i plug it in I find something else amazing about it. It has influenced me to be creative in different ways that i normally wouldn't think of.
I got my SY-1 about the same time ,and absolutely love it .Just please if you ever build a time machine don't go back , and tell the 15 year old me that I would be buying a Synthesizer pedal ; )
I find myself using it for stuff that I would normally use a chorus , or octave on .Really fun pedal to "just try stuff" with.
Addison nails it. Bedroom tones don't always apply to a live situation.
I got a fly a while back after missing out on the first batch. Absolutely love it on every amp I own, especially with good single coils. Mother Mary Co. are good people and make great stuff
Killed it on the jams today fella’s! Heard some FU MANCHU in there with the Fuzz and some Fugazi with another pedal. Reverend makes absolutely beautiful guitars! Railhammers are fantastic pups!
Those Reverends sound pretty awesome. The bass contour is actually one of the best best inventions in the electric guitar world.
The wide angle lense view would be amazing! The jams are awesome as always!
THAT JAM WITH ALL THE THINGS AND THE BASS ROLLOFF WAS STUDIO WORTHY!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
fucking love yalls creativity and weirdness
You guys are belligerent today. Love it.
No joke, these are funnier than I ever expected gear videos to be. Poor Joshua.
That knob is a passive bass roll off. I’ve got a Reverend double agent and a Soulshaker and they both have that. Really neat and more usable than the typical tone knob fare in my opinion
Addison, thanks so much for turning me on to the band Kills Birds on last weeks record time. New favorite band
Awesome ending guys! 👏👏👏👏🔥🔥
That Limoncello is the best! It is somehow both creamy and lemony at the same time. I remember my first experience with it ... boating on the Conestoga River ... I cracked open a can, and my life was changed.
🤢
That was the best. You're killing it don't stop now. I'm really curious about that miniature morning glory pedal. Really cool cool everything, pedals, guitars, jams. Pedal faster, I think I hear banjos. Keep up the great work.😎🤠🤗✌️
That Empress Delay sounds amazing with the slide!
I loved the song. I would watch a whole set of those songs.
Great live! Sad I missed it when there's so much to comment on, but I was at the spa getting a massage. I probably wouldn't have needed it if you'd have told me about the CaptorX sooner. My back can't handle carrying an amp anymore.
1. Normally I wouldn't care what y'all are drinking, but then I found out Josh was drinking the superlative LaCroix (Lemon Cello).
2. All the pedals sounded great but that Mother Mary is something I must have.
And C. I know I know I'm here for pedals and JHS hijinks, but man that bass coming through my BOSS noise cancelling earbuds was hitting HARD! It had me flinching at times. I think I need a new bass!
That Klon clone jam was like Santana meets daft punk meets like the presidents of the united states. Sick jam
Now that was some f'ing good entertainment 👏👏👏 Nice one 👍
Giant whammy bar looks very comfy. Tones and jams are wonderful today. You have the best jobs on earth…and in space.
Reverend 🎸.... Best guitar I own by a county mile! Great show guys. 👏
Hell yeah! Film the jams!!!!!
I wish my playing is as smooth and fluffy as Joshuas hairstyle
YES!!! To the wide angle camera lens set up high in the corner of the room recording you guys rehearsing said jams... I would totally enjoy watching your process.
Summer School Teacher (to Josh, Nick, Addison and Joshua): "YOU FOUR!!!!! TO THE PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE!!!! NOW!!!!!!" 😡
Great show, guys! Very entertaining, as always. (Addison has caused me to purchase his favorite pedal. To me, it has Joy Division/Peter Hook vibes.) 👍
SICK jams!
Lmfao the first cut to Nick with the sunglasses and lighting made me laugh way too hard
Killer
Tones
lovin that guitar and bass
Addison I loved hearing more notes from you in general - Pink Floyd was noice
The 2nd angry had RIPPIN tone and you had cool stuff going on
👍🏼👍🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
the chibson whammy. love it.
YESSS, please do an episode of showing ya'll recording the jams! But not juust the ProTools feed, have some boom mics or lav mics too please
That jam with the empress and funky whammy bar is siiiick!!! In a good way of course!!
Loved two notes torpedo captor theme!!
Loved the song 🎸
Oooof I want that Reverend bass!
Nice to see you playing a Reverend!
Loved it...
This song is going to get grammy for you guys 👏👏👏
I think that knob you thought was a rollable coil split on the Reverend guitar is really a low end roll off.
Still sounds great, whatever it is!
Indeed. lol
@@jhspedals yeahhhh.... I wrote that before Addison googled it. Sorry! :)
I’ve never been interested in Reverend, but I liked those a lot. Fantastic episode-probably my favorite one to date!
If ya see one, give it a rip. I've seen them all my guitar playing life, but when i actually sat down with one, it's obvious it's not just hype. Having set with a few different types, like bolt on vs set neck, P90 vs Railhammers, they're definitely a guitar to at least give a few minutes if you can.
Josh man! you Sing nice!!! one of my favorite bands right now Josh , Addison and Nick!! great band!😎
Finally talking about Empress pedals!!
Love my Empress pedals, second only to Chase Bliss in that space. Nice to see them getting some love. Great company too, also just like Chase Bliss AND JHS!
i got an ecosystem about a month ago, and i love it so much
Nice Reverend. Great guitar.
The slide part on the Coalminer Song was gnarrrrrrrrrrrly
Jams were more amazing than usual...amazingier!
Best outro ever! :D
Love the Destiny Ghost! My favorite video game of all time.
Hoping one or some of you play it.
hell yeah acorn! and Riddle of Steel was awesome!
That Empress Echo System jam was awesome!
I don't think I've ever heard Josh sing. That jingle was heavenly!
I’d watch the wide-angle live!
Great song.
That Airsonic sounds amazing, there’s NOTHING like a Reverend !! You have good taste
To be fair, they sent them to us unprovoked! They're great!
The Reverend AirSonic is sick. Love my AirSonic.
Wide angle, yes!!! I think it could have a Get Back vibe... how it's really done.
Thank you for the compliment. From a Canadian.
Also, best show so far. (But they’re all good)
I slam the front end with bass and mids. I use a second Eq to carve it out after gain. Works for me.
Two Notes should pay you for that song, nice jam!
One of my favorite episodes. Best ending ever.
Pretty sure Josh had more fun with his new whammy bar than anyone else did with Nerf guns at the end! Great episode!
Probably
That whammy bar looks like one of the custom ones that Ryan at 60CH bought a few months back. The jams were all top notch, as always.
I’m addicted to my Shoneswood Grub Drive! 🤘
That Fly pedal is perfect!
Prairie Home Companion. Lol. My dad’s friend was a producer on that show for years. He did a lot of work towards getting that movie made too. His daughter is now a reporter with NPR. Her names Phoebe Judge, she also has a true crime podcast called Criminal.
That Whammy Davis Jr is absolutely genius.
Sh*tfire, that Empress echo jam was hot! And that loopy whammy handle is life itself. must find one!
I have an EchoSysytem and it's almost too much. Everything sounds great, but I want three of them because of how many options and controls there are.
i dig your band !
Digging your bass
one of my favorite guitars is an hh jaguar with a bass roll off switch
I never understood why its so rare, its super useful
Great epi. Yes, wide angle. 18mm like Kubrick. Give us barrel distortion.
That architect of reality jam fuggen slapped!
"Corrine, Corrina" was written, performed and recorded by Bo Carter And The Mississippi Sheiks in the late 1920's, early 1930's.
.
The two notes theme song should be on the top 10 Billboard chart 🤘🏽
"The Dog WOuldn't Die" is the name of my new band.
That first jam was straight up Melvins goodness
Widescreen would be awesome for the jams!
Oh my god the theme song. 10/10
So, I was watching this at home later in the day and I saw that sloth on the unicorn and immediately thought to myself, "My (15yo) daughter would love that! I should point it out to her next time she's in here." And maybe 15 minutes later as I was making a sandwich or something she happens to be passing through the living room, she walks past the TV, then whips around and looks at the table shot again and exclaims, "I have that EXACT sloth on a unicorn!" And we had a pretty good laugh after that. Do with that information what thou wilt.
Cool!
You need the Billy Corgan Railhammer pickups on that beautiful guitar...JS
YAY!!
36:51 That tone, ooooh!!!
14:32 I have an old Koa Carvin guitar that has a nutty cocoa smell every time I open the case...it's 30 years old 😆
The Grubdrive sounds absolutely brilliant with tremolo… just fyi 😉
Who makes it?
Please keep using that Reverend. The tone is strong in this episode.
Fun vid dudes! Just bought a mother mary strap based on your shout. 🙏also, Are those the fishman fluence pups in the rev gtr?
0:53 even Nordic strongmen couldn't throw someone under a bus faster than this
