What does blue card mean?
The blue card means that external consideration is now being given to a possible consequence for Mandic - for example he could be suspended for a longer period of time etc.

Well, I wouldn't even have given a blue card to be honest - because I doubt the hit to the face was intentional.

Red is absolutely correct, blue is not correct imo.
Sehe ich komplett anders, als die Kroatien-Fan- Boys hier. Über die blaue kann man diskutieren. Aber über die Rote sicher nicht. Er hat nullkommanull Chance auf den Ball. Und die Hand/Ellenbogen hat im Gesicht des Gegners nichts verloren.
Für meine Begriffe war der Schlag ins Gesicht keine Absicht, dennoch war es einer, der eine rote Karte verdient.
Stimme dir daher zu.
Rot ok, aber das einzige Problem in der ganzen Geschichte ist, dass gleiche französische Fouls von den Schiedsrichtern nicht gleich behandelt werden
blaue eigentlich auch gerechtfertigt, die Hand oder halt Hände gehen nur in Richtung des Gesichts. Keine Chance auf den Ball. War wohl ein eine Verzweiflungstat

If the player would not put his body in that position, he would fell either on his shoulder and in worst case, break his arm, or even worse, head. Anyways, even if the player got blue card, it does not immediately crosses him out of the competition. It means there has to be further examination of what happened and act accordingly.
