- Someone requested a thunderstorm / raining sound with a more haunting feel. Something dark... and stormy. I thought, 'why not? ' and came up with this strong thunderstorm with a few surprises along the way. Background nature sound effects (wind, wolves, owls, etc.) combine with the thunder and rain to set the mood in this 2 hour long virtual thunderstorm sound. From virtualdreamer.com

Don't ever take this down. I've been going to sleep to it every night for years now. I have PTSD, and night time is the worst time of day for me. I struggle with insomnia from flash backs. Well, struggled. This video has gotten it down to a dull roar and I fall asleep a lot sooner and easier. Thank you so much.

Hi B&T. Sorry you suffer the symptoms of PTSD. I hope you’re coping with it more effectively now. I know it will always be there lurking in the background effecting you’re relationships and sense of well being because I’ve had to cope with it too. Not Nam. High school. Getting shot at, hit and nothing to fight back with. Had to stand behind a door and rake it on the chin. Counselor said I probably had ptsd before the shooting living with a father and grandfather who had it. Unexpected outbursts. Walking on eggshells.m around them. Otherwise the kindest most supportive men I knew. Hopefully you have people who understand around you now. At least society has learned ptsd is nothing to take lightly or dismiss. Peace.

I have been listening and falling asleep to these videos for years. Its mother nature singing you to sleep and beats my husbands snoring like a lawn mower. When we travel my ipod goes with me everywhere. Just love them and Brad McBrides videos are the best.

Well move over because there are alot of us weird folks in this world who enjoy the so called "DARK SIDE" of things per se'.I have always liked rainy days, and caves or dark bars etc. I cant help it and I embrace it, weird is normal I think; otherwise one is truly insane ! A friend once told me, its alright to talk to yourself as long as you dont interupt.

I have listened to this almost every night for 2 years. I can't fall asleep without it, it gives me great comfort. Knowing that it has a 2 hour run time is so good because I can hear it whilst I'm drifting off to sleep, aware that it is still a civilised hour. It has definitely helped my insomnia.

There's something in your composition that reminds me of the classic Russian. Child, I spent my childhood near the Atlantic coast in Spain. Winters lasted six months, and sometimes it rained for four days straight. We lived surrounded by water. Today the rain is gone, the trees also. We have a stunning drought. Hi Brad. I'm from Porto Alegre, Brazil. I study everyday for some hard govern jobs exams. So I listen this sound every time, I use to muffle the sound of my family and of a bar beside my building... then I can concentrate better. I've already tried to listen Bach, maditation musics, and even some other rain or wind sounds, but yours is the best! I thought you would enjoy to "hear" this. Hugs.

Awww man, this was a real treat. It had everything that matters to me in a soundscape. Booming audio, where I don't have to resort in turning the volume on the video completely up, heavy rain splatter, the periodic earth-shattering thunder, and what gives this the total package & essentially brings it all home is the howling winds. I'm from & reside in Wisconsin, I know a good strong, bustling, howling wind when I hear it.
At first I had thought the barking dogs going off in the distance was a bit of an annoyance, but I gotten used to it really quickly, and can appreciate that part of the video as well. Loved the wolf sounds, too. Thanks for the upload.
