    Absolutely love this kind of content - I just play drums but have always been very fascinated with the stuff you guys do and the way you all implement tech, which I why I break Danny Olesh' balls so much haha - Great stuff mate

    I’m just a little bit confused. Does A&H allows group to group patching ?

    This is awesome. Never thought of using UAD live mainly because Waves seem to dominate. Would love it if you can provide some content around that.

      Both excel at different things IMO. UAD is better at emulations and ‘flavours’. Waves has better audio tools and effects.

      But uad live is discontinued right ? How to use it in a proper way ? Need a old macbook with a specific version of Mac OS ?

      @@dylanmaudioexactly! Your mind is the limit with Reaper. I've been having so much fun with the CSI 3.0 extension and customizing how my X Touch integrates with custom actions

    How much pre-show time did you have for building the midi triggers and mix?

  • @heartheroaaar1168

    Thank you for sharing, awesome setup ! I assume you don't have issue latency because? If I'm correct you have external processing on tracks, busses and master, so it could basically triple your latency ?

    • @dylanmaudio
      @dylanmaudio  Před měsícem

      Yes you’re right. My drums pass through UAD 3 times before outputting through the master. Low latency protocols help, along with running at 96khz. I’ve been running this same mix setup for quite a while now, with no perceivable latency. I should really measure it! But I would imagine total RTL is 10-15ms

    Can I ask you a question that I don't understand?
    In the video you show us the structure of subgroups and masters, do you have the console configured as groups to groups?
    When you tell us that you have a Band Master, one for vocals and one for tracks, what do you mean?
    Greetings and thanks for these videos!

    • @dylanmaudio
      @dylanmaudio  Před měsícem +1

      Yeah! I like to cheat my way through group-to-group mixing - on any console!

    • @dressink
      @dressink Před měsícem

      Hello, Dylan! I'm trying to do the same with Reaper and an A&H Avantis, could you share your Reaper project or make a specific video? Thank you so much!

    • @dylanmaudio
      @dylanmaudio  Před měsícem +1

      @@dressink you just have to think outside of the box a little bit - or even like an analog signal flow mentality!
      Plug the output of a group into an input channel, then route that input channel into a group again :)
      Be aware though, this will add a small amount of latency (as it does for other consoles that DO allow bus-to-bus routing such as Digico)

    • @dylanmaudio
      @dylanmaudio  Před měsícem +1

      @@phantomkik yeah cool! Maybe I can do a video to explain the methods I ended up with. I’m still learning but Reaper is very useful given all the custom commands you can make.
