From an organisation that is meant to represent inclusivity, it is kind of ironic that everyone should conform to the same set of criteria in order to have a ‘better’ chance of being successful, even if they are physically or mentally constrained from doing so 🤷♂️. Happy New Year to you. Still haven’t a clue how to convert to video creator on FB, but I can upload video content onto my FB business page so I am experimenting with some ideas and I even have hit 100 followers on there😀👍.
It’s a funny world, over Christmas I was getting decent ££££ but now £££ followers were 2k+ a month and now 3 figures - I don’t get it, when my YT page is doing badly you FB page is doing well and visa versa.

If some viewers are so shallow that a bit of crappy audio makes them unsubscribe - do you really want them? Anyone with half a brain cell who can see the creative and execution prowess will be more than happy to wait patiently until whenever the next content appears. Happy New Year. Its not likely to be subscribers just random watchers. Lots of people watch a few videos before subscribing. If they click away they are less likely to be recommended the channel again and other will not see the channel on their home page. Also as you get older your hearing gets worse. Even if people like the channel they may not watch if they can not hear.

I know full well how youtube bumps you down if you take some time mate. Had a 2 month YT break last year and my channel still hasn't recovered. Lucky if I break 1000 views a video now. Ad money? Forget it. Takes 2 or more months to accumulate enough revenue to even qualify for a payout now! Dead channel walking. Thankfully furniture making/joinery is my job, not youtube. Still stings a bit being kicked off the list by YT when you put the effort in for content. Analytics show I'm just not getting recommended to new viewers anymore. Piss take. So yeah, I feel for you mate. Hopefully, unlike me you'll be able to swing it back around. You do quality content and builds. Always give me a chuckle n'all. 1 a week schedule when you're trying to work and create is hard as hell though.
It’s graft to know what’s going wrong that’s for sure, could be the thumbnails they say the most important part, could be the sound, could be the title and description, then there’s the click through rate, I bet if we sat down we could lift your channel cause I think the content is good!

My videos that have done really well - older ones - all had shite thumbnails. 🤷♂️ I think my problem is most of my subs came from reviewing power tools, Banggood and Benchdogs tools. Now I've left that behind, it's like I'm having to build a new audience for workshop and furniture making stuff I'm trying to concentrate on. Happier making content I want to now though. 👍
I follow channels and individuals in woodworking and carpentry who have hundreds of thousands and more in subscribers . Yours is the absolute best content out there. I’m happy to have just signed up on for the first time ever on patron to help keep your content coming. Please never stop.

For what its worth i think your content is great. Keep up the great work. If you want to satisfy the algorithm you could always intersperse your longer for content with some shorter quicker to make vids.
Visually I enjoy watching Keith Johnson and Frank Howarth two very different looks but make it about the work and give lots of angles. There's a couple of channels on here which look beautiful but are lacking because it's not about the woodworking, or task at hand. I hope you get to a point where videography is up to your required standard.
Thanks Rob, I used to love watching Frank I mean I waited with baited breath for every upload but then he stop the animation and bought a bloody cnc, now I’ve got nothing against them but that’s all he does now who gives a fuck what a computer can cut. His channel would be huge if he had kept to what was working. He’s a nice chap too, it’s mental how he does it with his bad stutter too, hats off to him but please get rid of the cnc content.

I’d like to understand why the huge drop in money people are still watching, ads are still being played in our vids, so why… subscriptions why does that vary so much, December I was getting 2000 per month now 300 wtf it’s demoralising!
@@HewAndAwe YT charge more for ads in the lead up to Xmas so December is always my best month, but its only able 10-15% flux for me usually. Subs rates... no idea. I get little fluctuations but mine are usually very stable (and low :P)

My biggest issue now is product photography, I need good pics so I can hopefully sell what I make, and have a website but I struggle with product pics, to much flare and the likes I can’t capture the beauty… the film side I’ve done nothing but learn that the last 6 weeks, in a couple of vids it should be noticeable.
