I am genuinely perplexed it how inexpensive this knife is. Watch this review and see why that is. #grandway #fixedblade To Purchase www.amazon.com/Hunting-Knife-...
Hey excellent video brother. I have owned alot of knives from hand me downs all way up to high end high priced name branded blades why there might be some subtle differences in quality, Any knife is a good knife regardless of brand, name or price . As long as it can puncture slash and cut then you have everything a knife is designed to do
This looks like a good copy of the Buck Vanguard…which I have. I do have a Winchester fixed blade that looks exactly like it and let me tell ya they perform very very similar, and let me tell ya there’s no need for a Buck Vanguard by purchasing this blade. $80 compared to $13. I just purchased this blade thanks to your review. Thanks buddy! Great video!
I've looked at this knife for a while..but always though it would be trash..but..after buying their cleaver for 9.99 440c steel..that cleaver is a beast and it chops wood..crazy. So I been looking at this knife too. Glad I found this channel. Gonna have to get me one.
Well brother your opinion is exactly right no matter who stays otherwise a axe is for chopping a knife is for cutting it's just how it is my brother and you just happen to be like us few that are smart enough to know 😁 so we win 😄
440C sharpens okay. It can tend to have a stubborn burr, so you'll want to finish with some alternating light passes using a gentle stone, such as 1000 solid ceramic (with water or oil) and then some stropping. Make sure you really get the burr gone or it will haunt you. There's a bunch of chromium (17%) and no vanadium to tame the burr. Newer steels like VG10 add a little vanadium to shrink the grain and make it more well behaved.
Nice review and you just got yourself another subscriber. I like honest reviewers like you who know you don't need to take out a mortgage just to get a good knife. One of my main knives cost me $9.99 when I bought it 10 years ago and I still use it all time. It's gotten ten years of use so it's already paid for itself as far as I am concerned. Use a knife it for it's intended purpose, don't do anything too stupid with it and even some $10 to $15 knife can potentially last a good, long time.
WOW thats alot of knife for $13 , great review! i just got my cold steel torpedo (after watching yr review ) and it took just 2 throws to adjust and dam it hit hard on a sheet of plywood. man i got a vacation coming up (Gettysburg, PA) need to stop buying stuff.
They do have very good knives I stumbled across the moon Amazon and I've always bought their knives they have some decent pocket knives spring assistant really well made 440c that's good steal strong thank you for sharing this great video
I just bought this knife, it is on route. It does look a bit similar to the Buck Vanguard. The one thing that really needs to be said about this knife, that is not in this excellent video review. That the handle does not have a "full tang" it is has a traditional style rat tail tang from the hilt to the pommel... I knew that before buying it. There is nothing wrong with that as older hunting knives were made that way as well. The only thing to really know, is be careful if you do any real heavy batoning of wood, I'm not sure if there may be a metal weld point to connect the metal between where the rat tail tang starts and the bottom of the knife stops. For throwing and doing other cutting and extra light chopping tasks it will be as good as any other knife in the price point, no doubt. Again, I just wanted to let people know about that, but again for the low price that it is compared to VERY higher price knives with the same construction.. Yes this is a great one!
Great info! You’re exactly right about the tang. When I was reading the product description it said full tang but a lot of people don’t really know what full tang is. Some refer to the Cood Steel knives like SRK and Recon Tanto is full tang but I think those are rat tails as well . Great comment 🙂👍
Mora is proof you don’t have to spend a fortune on knives. I’ve got several. I have a few folders with 440c and they perform decent. I will say though I’ve gotten spoiled with the performance of S30v & S45v and it’s amazing edge retention.
I really like the guard on that Blade and the Profile is Perfect for skinning and field dressing game. For Survival and Shelter in the woods, I would rather have that Blade Shape. For Urban environments, I like Tantos. For that Price, you stole it. Thanks again.
HI, Ebay in Australia has what looks to be the same knife but is brand with the name Buck on it and comes in a silver or blacked out version as well for $30 Aussie peso. Aussie Ebay is full of chinese knock off's with a well known knife brand's names on them.
I really want this knife. It's on sale for father's day. Unfortunately, I have XXL hands. I could probably make it work, but it would be uncomfortable. It's unfortunate, because it's so difficult to find good 440C fixed blades
@@411Outdoors I ended up getting 2 Grand Ways. This one, and the longer upswept hunting blade to add to my collection. I did get another of the Tanto blades too! I just love them it's just SO useful!
Can’t believe it’s 13. They could get more for this. Those 17 blades from Dispatch aren’t close to this in material yet they are 5$ more expensive. Both get the job done but I was shocked
Thanks for your coverage of this, looks like great bang for the buck. It's on sale as of today on 4m4zon for ten dollars and eighty cents, can't beat that.
You pulled your punches when you were stabbing into the plywood! I caught you man! LOLS! It's still $13. I just ordered one! Too bad you don't get commissions. Thanks for the heads-up!
I purchased two he is correct on the strength of the blade. I recommend everyone order one today.
I have two of them as well. Excellent for hunting and camping. It has been very durable.

Very glad it helped my friend!🙂👍. I love this knife a lot. It is so good and so easy to sharpen
You should look at the Eafengrow knives. They are a step up in cost, but still budget range. I really like the Eafengrow EF128 in DC53 steel

Good job on this
just to let you know, we value budget knife reviewers like you
Very welcome! I try to cover blades across the whole spectrum. I’m in my pricey season right now covering a lot of Tops and Shivworks blades haha
I have a Winchester exact same animal says Winchester down the side of the blade good knife

Those are some sweet steels for sure bro. What do you think about 3V steel? I’ve got a couple of Tanto knives I’m looking at in 3V
Yes it's a good knife they made that very knife for Winchester knives

That is very well said 👍👍 I’m a Tanto man in the city as well

I’d be interested to see the blacked out version of it.
That's impressive! 😲
I thought so as well. Great great knife for this price
Grand Way Has always been on my radar because of there cool designs 💪🔪❤️
They make Throwing Knifes 😎
They really are some great budget blades!🙂👍

cool, i need one
Very very great knife for the money🙂👍
Currently on Amazon 12.99 but it's not listed as a Grand way in the title. I'll check it out when it gets here!
Yeah these things get all kinds of names on them on Amazon but if you clicked on the link that’s the one

I will not baton hollow ground blades, especially in a somewhat crunchy steel like 440C. Way too much risk of chipping.
Cool,knive
🙂💯👍
If you wanted to buy a leather sheath for this to carry scout style and your choices are 4 inch or 5inch which would you suggest? Thanks!
I believe this is a 4 inch blade. 5 would just give more than enough room
guard on fixed blade/bowie knives looks way more fitting than without one just looks ugly without it.
Full tang?
No sir
Yo! Grand Way is from Ukraine. I wonder if the war is affecting production and allocated materials. Hence, the discontinued knives.
Well said!
You sound like a dead ringer for Joel Osteen if he were doing a knife review.
Haha! I’m known for being a pretty bright and sunny guy 😂. What’s scary is I can be the exact opposite and that’s what I try to keep my thumb on.
i dont know how people pay 600 or 1000 dollars for knives unless you collector
I know it’s crazy. If I paid that much money for a knife, it would just sit around.
Good review 👍. Thanks for the info before we buy it and don't liked.
🙂👍💯💯
Thanks for your coverage of this, looks like great bang for the buck.
