Used a heat gun and a vice to fix the retention in a few minutes. No idea if it's D2 but a nice little fixed blade for the money. Sharpens up well. It's actually one of my favorite knives. 5" is the max I will go now after experimentation with larger knives but something even smaller has it's place. Would probably make a very good skinner.

Excellent review. Unfortunately I have XXL width hands. It makes it very hard to find EDC knives. If the grip isn't at least 5_in long, I've got no grip. I'm in Northern VA BTW (I don't particularly like living here, but I'm stuck until my daughter graduates high school). By the looks of the trees, you're somewhere in the peninsulas between the Rappahannock, York, and James Rivers. I love that area. My grandpa used to live down there near Williamsport. There were tons of places to go bird hunting, skeet shooting, trap shooting, and any kind of sporting clay shooting. Thanks for the review, and the tip about the hockey tape. Definitely a thumbs up video.

Not sure if youve done them yet, but it would be nice to get some reviews of Komwero, Aubey, & Eefengrow knives. All 3 brands make several full tang knives in the 5-6_in blade length, in D2 or 440C steel. They aren't as inexpensive as Flissa, and there aren't many videos out there that test their quality. I mostly own quality carbon steel knives. It would be nice to have a few stainless or mostly stainless EDC knives. People also look at me funny when I walk my dog with my Ontario SP10 Marine Raider Bowie, or my Cold Stewl Chaos Bowie (especially in Northern VA)!

Kydex will shrink under a hot blow dryer. Use long pliers, clamp where the sheath is getting it’s retention, squeeze and let it get hot for a few minutes then cool. Don’t pull the knife out till it cools. Release the plier’s tension and it will be snug. You can go too snug or lose the shape of the sheath after too much heat, so get it right the first time :). This only works on kydex not plastic

@@411Outdoors I’m just over the moon right now ….
Over the weekend, my grandkids were being dropped off by my son in law .
Granted - he knows nothing about knives .
So what I did was :
I broke out most of my Cold Steel collection - like 10 of them .
But I mixed in my custom with them .
I asked him “ if you could have one knife , which one would you choose “???
      He immediately chose the Trailmaster.
      Next ??
He picked up the Custom Cowboy Combat knife .
And then he put it down .
( he said “ hmmmm … since I already chose the Trailmaster, the big one , I will now choose a smaller one “.
So then he picked up the SRK .
And THEN he picked up the Custom .
      Haha 😂
( there were like 10 blades on the table … all Cold Steel … The Trailmaster- Natchez - SRK - Laredo - Maurador - Espada - etc etc ….. and he chose my custom as his 3 rd choice ( well really it was his 2 nd but he changed his mind ).
      Haha 😂
When I told him that was my creation - he was like “ Are you serious “??????
Then I showed him some videos of the knife process being made .
      That blew me away !!
I really wish I had recorded that moment !!!!
I don’t think anyone would believe me though .
      But I’m dead serious !!
      What an honor !!!
I have like a dozen or so custom made knives but they are all based solely on one particular blade .
So this one is definitely special to me .
      And it’s a beast !!
Sorry so long of a comment….

Great review! I just ordered one on Ebay, the price was an amazing $17 and change, and with a spring break discount of a little more than $2 my total with tax was $16.21 with free shipping. I'm all about budget knives and have a few now; Vortek liner lock, OerLa 440C fixed, BPS bushcraft stainless 4" fixed (Ukraine), Aubey D2 fixed (sold it to a friend), Ruike Hornet Black (my favorite as pocket carry). I'm quite excited to try this Flissa, it could very easily become one of my all time favorites. Quick question as my metallurgical knowledge is weak, is this D2 steel cast or forged? I tend to favor forged steel with my handguns, my EDC being the S&W M&P 9 Shield Plus w/safety in a Warriorland IWB kydex holster. Anyhow, thanks for the great review and info on the quick sheath fix, however I'll be looking for a decent aftermarket leather belt sheath.

I really do agree brother most definitely! I love couple steel but I’m really starting to see some things that I believe outperform in quality and price

@@411Outdoors You're right, but unfortunately CS have one strong asset: they have best tanto designs on the market. I dreaming of market competition in this area of knife world.

@@michas.5149 you are so right on that. I love the Boker Magnum Tanto but the sheath has been a deterrent

I stopped buying Chinese made knives a long time ago. I would rather pay more for American made. Even if it is 25 dollars

I understand 👍. The Strongarm has a pretty much been my American go to. I’ve been hunting for something this size for awhile.

big turn off getting a new knife and having to work on it and sharpen it and file on it getting out your tool bags and stuff like that I just can not understand these knife companies just make a knife that is sharp and fits in case this getting a new knife and working on it for hours is crazy and with Flissa you might get a good one and you might get one you have to work on for hours and one or 2 bad apples turns you off from buying other knives from them. if I had a knife company no way would I let a new knife leave my company that needed workin on or a knife that was not sharp.
