- Hey guys! This week I will be comparing the Critter Nation cage with the Feisty Ferret cage. I saw that no one on youtube haas done this sort of video comparing these two very popular cages. Luckily I have both of them at my disposal so I though I might share with you some of their differences and similarities. Hope it helps you out! đ

Both the feisty ferret cage and the critter nation are great options, but today we will be looking at some main differences. Some of the things I'm going to look at are the size, doors, weight, hardiness, wheels, pans, ramps, and assembly. I also forgot to mention that the bars of the critter nation's cage are horizontal and 0.5" apart. While the bars of the Feisty ferret cage are vertical and 1" apart. Ultimately what you decide to get is entirely up to you, but hopefully this video helped you out with that decision.
Have a great day!
I think you missed the most important difference: the Critter/Ferret nation cage doors both opening all the way. Easy cleaning. The Feisty ferret cage, only one door opens so you have to reach a bit further to clean the back corners.
Oops! I forgot to mention it!!! Yes, that is one downside to the Feisty Ferrety cage. It can get pretty annoying reaching out in there to clean đ
Thanks so much for pointing it out! đ
for anyone deciding what to get, I have the feisty ferret cage right now and Iâve had it for less then a month and Iâm switching to the critter nation. My baby rat escaped from the feisty ferret cage and scared me half to death as it took 30 minutes to find him! (the gaps are too big). Also, I know it isnât the cages fault, but originally I was going to get two boy rats and I ended up with three, seeing them run around in the feisty ferret cage made me realize it was WAY too small. But even so, even just two rats would outgrow this cage making it too small. Spoil them and spend the extra 100! I wanted to be cheap at first but I fell in love with my boys and decided almost immediately its worth the upgrade. I hope this helps!
Also! Just to clarify, I only have the one level, so maybe if you had two levels it would classify as being big enough. Even so, getting the second level of the feisty ferret cage doesnât seem worth it to me as the entire bottom is wired which isnât good for their feet! Thatâs just my opinion, again hope it helps!
Yeah, the bars are about 1 inch apart, which in some cases is too wide. It's a good thing that you got the critter nation cage, I love that cage too! đ

@@reeseelliott7337 there is no attachment option for the feisty ferret. Why u lying
I donât have chinchillas yet but if I get hem Iâm totally spending an extra hundred dollars on the critter nation cage so my chins have more space, and better flooring, also it will be easier to clean because of the fully opening cage doors. :3
yes, I agree with you! The critter nation cage is truly a marvelous cage!! đ
This is so interesting!! I can imagine the Critter Nation cage being really heavy to carry đ đ đ Iâm subscribed BTW âșïžđ
I know! Itâs superrr heavy! đ But TYSM for subscribing! â€ïžâ€ïž
My family and I upgraded to the critter nation and our chinchilla, Fred, loves it!! He spent the first week running from the bottom to the tippy top and back again! And popcorning all over! He enjoys an hour or two of playtime everyday out of his cage but that first week he didn't even want to leave the critter nation! My suggestion is to purchase the critter nation. Your pet will be very happy!
I have the Critter Nation Cage, me and my grandpa built it and it was pretty easy. The only thing is that while building it we needed tools and the cage didnât require proper tools, the cage box said âno toolsâ, it came with tools, but they where little tiny ones who were useless to me. Luckily, we had the proper tools for the critter nation.
The only thing I could say whatâs really wrong about the critternation is that when i put on a ledge, the bars bent, Ive tried a lot of different ledges but the bars always bend but that may just be me
Omg yes! It can get so difficult to assemble! I had trouble putting some of the parts together, so I had to use brute force đ I have never tried putting ledges on the cage, but thatâs not too good đ€
I have the ferret nation cage and the bars are more vertical so they canât be bent easily
@@courtney2268 Yeah, maybe if you have big heavy ledges, the ferret nation would be a better option. :)
I have two chinchillas Oreo and Frosty who I am bonding right now. They are both enjoying their own cages because they canât shade a cage yet, but Iâm working in it! Love your channel!
Love the names! I'm sure you'll do a great job bonding them! Tysm for supporting my channel! đ
I had built a double handmade wire cage with removable levels for cleaning out of two ârat starter kitsâ from âall living thingsâ. I have two girls but would like to add two more. I just bought the fiesty ferret cage on amazon.
Since Iâm Canadian the import fee, delivery fee and currency exchange price the ferret nation cage at 520$. Waaaaaay out my price range. I paid 220$ to build my first one, and now just paid 300$ for fiesty ferret cage. I have essentially quadrupled my cage size for half the price...
As long as the bars are spaced evenly, got the tools, and you have some creativity you can make it all your own. Wonât be built until I move but Iâm excited.
That's so awesome! You must be very talented to be able to build the cage all by yourself!
And aww it sucks that you have to pay extra import/delivery fee :( But good on you for thinking outside the box, and very excited for the final product. Maybe you can submit it when I do reacting to my subscribers cages part two đđ
Chinchilla kingdom omg that would be so amazing!!! Thank you for the love â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž

Hmm- At the moment I'm saving up money and I was originally going to buy the ferret cage because it was cheaper but now looking more into it I'm going to save of for a critter nation cage. I want the best for my 2 pet rats!
Yes, both cages are suitable. I'm not a rat expert, but depending on how big your rats are just keep in mind that the feisty ferret cage bars are 1 inch apart and the critter nation's bars are 1/2 inch apart. So yeah I think you are making a great choice, the critter nation cage is very well made đ
I really like these two cages but I would rather have the critter nation. I had a plastic tray at the bottom of the cage and escaped into my room luckily I found her and I fixed it up so now she canât do it again
It's good that you found her! Yeah if there wasnât such a price difference, I think the critter nation would be a winner :)
i have both cages too and my chinchilla likes ferret cage more. I bought a Citter Nation cage first and my chinchilla was not happy with it:( He sitted in one spot and eated just a little... after week i bought ferret cage and my chinchilla asolutly loved it ! she started running around jumping and ate a lot. I think my chinchilla is afraid of large spaces... BTW i love your vids
Wish I could have gotten a ferret nation cage! Most likely will upgrade when the babies get much bigger, theyâre quite small now
Yeah the critter/ferret nation is much bigger than the feisty ferret cage. If you do upgrade, I'm very excited for you :))
@@Chinchillakingdom im saving up to get it for christmas! For now my cage a is really big for just 3 rats so im also planning on getting more when i get the critter nation! I really like the layout of everything about the cage. Like the shelf and the pans ect cus my rats absolutely love ledges
i personally have a cage i got off of amazon for around $150.i have been looking for a new cage for my other chinchilla my mom is convinced we will build an indoor outdoor habitat.
indoor habitat! Wow that sounds very cool and interesting! â€ïž
Im getting the critter nation! Tysm for making this video
Hello I was wondering if you have to have the wire leveled on the critter nation
Critter Nation cage
yay, I love the critter nation! đ
Canât wait for a cage tour!!
Of course! I am planning o doing a cage tour once I set this new cage up. Maybe a cage make over đ
Iâm planning on selling the feisty ferret cage once I get closer on having enough for the critter so I can buy a lot of new stuff to decorate it with!!:)
@@mariahdurant3224 That's amazing! Can't wait to see how it turns out đđ
I donât have a chinchilla and I just have rabbits so my guess would be I feel like the critter nation cage would be a better fit for two chinchillas on top of it being really good quality.
i have a prevue hendryx cage for my three ferrets but i am saving up to get a ferret nation cage. the prevue hendryx sucks guys i wouldnât waste my money in the first place. i only got it because i already had one ferret with no cage but a guy was moving out and had to get rid of his two ferrets and their cage. i would suggest holding onto your cash until you have enough money to afford the ferret nation one. (the ferret nation and critter nation are two different things, ferret nation is better and less expensive)
Yeah I definitely think the critter/ferret nation cage is superior. (but is quite costly)
The difference is that the ferret nation has 1' vertical bars and the critter nation has 0.5' horizontal bars and is about $10 more expensive. Ultimately, it is up to your choice which one you get but since I have a chinchilla, the horizontal bars give me more options for ledge placement. But the ferret nation would work perfectly for a ferret!
Btw I love ferrets, they are so cute!!!!
The ferret nation isn't better for my tiny female rats. ;) I rather like that they stay INSIDE the cage, haha.
i have critter nation and i love it! and i think my chinnies do too
Hooray! Everyone loves it đ„ł
I have both
I love your voice! It's so relaxing lol
I have the fiesty ferret cage and I want to upgrade them. I feel like it's way too small for my boys. And I feel bad. But it came with them when I adopted them. But just seeing the difference makes me feel guilty
I have the critter nation cage for my two rats. It works great!!!
Awesome! We love to hear it! đ„°
i have a Savic cage :-). And i love it!!!!

Iâm getting a chinchilla and I didnât know that was the cage I told my mom about the ferret cage but now that I know letâs see if she still wants to get me one she said I could get so ima need the bigger cage tysm
yee that all sounds very exciting! đđđ
I have a critter nation and we got off of craigs list for half the price for our two 1 year old chinchillas.đ
Wow! such a good deal! I'm so happy for you đ
Did it comes good as new? Any issues with it? Iâm on budget and really want the critter nation
@@mariahdurant3224 It's a pretty solid cage in my opinion. I highly recommend. But I suggest you have two people assemble it because I had a bit of a rough time assembling it myself (but it is doable). Can't wait to hear which cage you get :)
BTW I will soon make a chinchilla cage tour.đ
@@puzo89gaming26 That's awesome! Keep up the good work! đ
Hi! Quick question, here in Europe is almost impossible (sadly) to get the critter nation cage(the cage costs almost the same as the shippement đ), so my plan was to get the feisty ferret cage. Can you remove that middle metal floor separation in the middle to get to the second level and have it just all empty?
Hello! Yes Iâm pretty sure that you can assemble it without the middle level. While you are putting it together, make sure to just leave the middle level out. đ
Yes you can! I have one and am eventually gonna remove it once I get enough ledges
Which should I use for my pigeon?
Could you take off the wheels and storage part of needed? So itâs just the actual cage part?
Yes, you don't have to put the wheels or the storage part in when assembling.đđ
Do you think my gerbils would be able to have a ferret cage and if they are what kids do you suggest me to get that is under 150 because I am not allowed to get a tank
Thanks for crate information
I'm Thinking of getting the Critter Nation Because for some reason I LOVE IT. but I have 2 rats ( I'm getting one or two more soon ) but, I'll be getting more animals soon So Either I should get two Feisty Ferret nations or Two Critter nations OR one of each. my budget is 600 for Cages, Food, and a lot of other items. I Have Two Rats, 40+ Mice Since I Breed I them for Pets and Show, 1 Dog, 1 cat and kitten. Which the Gsd needs Vet Bill money. I have 65 Currently which I will be buying Rat and Mouse Food with and probably more bedding for them as well. ( They go through 141Ls everytime I do a Cleaning day! )
The Other Cage I don't need right away because I still doing research and deciding what I want
I was going to transform my room into a Full animal Rescue and Pet Room, But I would be sleeping on the floor or couch if I did Lol.
So I guess I'll get two Fiesty Ferret nations...But I want the critter nation! If I get one critter nation that kicks my budget down by 250 dollars... A lot of people sell animals with Cages, Food, Etc. So I can try that I guess, Wish me luck?
Hello! wow that's a lot of animals, must keep you very busy! I wish you all the best! I'm sure with all you're experience you will definitely know what best to do!
@@Chinchillakingdom Thank you! I wish you all the best as well!
I heard that the wired floor is bad for chinchilla feet so I normally put like cloths and stuff to cover it and want get fleece but IDK how it works when my chinchilla pees on it.
Great question! You can watch my tutorial video here: czcams.com/video/HUxT7w7KIAQ/video.html
the feisty ferret cage isnt on my amazon :(
Im gonna get the feisty ferret cage and put fleece on the wire floors so it doesnât hurt the feet and put fleece on the rams so she wonât chew them
Ramps not rams
Yes, that sounds like a fabulous idea. The feisty ferret cage is a great cage! :)
i just got a fiesty with my new rat rescues and let me say the critter nation is SO much better. the double doors, the stronger wire and just the larger size
yee, i definitely agree the critter nation is built better! XD
@@Chinchillakingdom feisty also does hold those wooden ledges well at all, do to the larger bar spacing. So I plan on switching my male rat and my chinchilla move the rat over to the feisty and Dusty will get to top half of my DCN
@@sensoryzoo8293 ooo that sounds like a very cool idea! đđ
does the feisty ferret have a wire floor on the second floor? because that's bad for ferrets
Yes, the feisty ferret cage has wire floor on both the 1st and 2nd level. I'm not a ferret expert, but for chinchillas I would recommend making fleece liners. Here's that video: czcams.com/video/HUxT7w7KIAQ/video.html
I'm looking for a strong cage because my Chinchilla chews the bars and also strong enough to mount her wooden wheel it's quite heavy
Do you think I could use the critter nation cage for mice?
The chinchilla cage I plan to get is the prevue pet products flight bird cage (it takes to long to type all that)
Yay! Very creative idea! đđ
Critter Nation
Yay! Love love that cage đ
can some play tell me if the fiesty cage comes w bolts and screws
I want ferret nation out have kaytee crate hard to clean I donât recommend that kaytee crate and there are no locks to prevent escapee from going out of the crate when there not supposed and the one I did thoroughly clean and I went to put the platform back in they were uneven how does that and they were on the same wire on each side I hate the crate I have now
Yeah that cage is such a scam:( sorry you got it. So many people are told itâs great but itâs SO bad. Hope you can get a ferret nation or critter nation. Itâs SO nice to clean. So so so worth the money.
Critter nation, just put an order in for a third extension!
Wow! Super exciting, your chins will LOVE it!! đđ
Question does the stand come off of the cage on the bottom
Yeah! You can just leave it on the floor without the stand/wheels. I have mine like that!
Critter nation is the better one, same cage I had for my ferrets. Plus instead of having all of those bars they could get stuck
yeah! I would definitely say the the critter nation is the better cage, but it also comes at a costly price haha! đ
Is the critter nation cage good for degus?
i have the feisty ferret for my lil ratties
That 60% that isnt subscribed dont watch you often and or dont have Google accounts. The more you know. :D
I have a 162 criiter nation
Awesome! I have the same one yay!
Ive been looking for cages to buy, so this video was very helpful! How do I convince my parents to buy a cage for 300 dollars tho my 0arents dont want to get it even tho its better... đ
I'm so glad that you found my video helpful! To be honest, I got the feisty ferret cage at the start because I wanted to save some money, but I ended up spending more because I decided to upgrade to the critter nation đ If you have your mind set on the critter nation, then you could try explaining to your parents that is it bigger, and the quality is better. Also, because it's bigger it does not get dirty/messy as quickly as the feisty ferret cage and you can put more stuff in there. However, in no way am I saying the feisty ferret cage is not suitable for chinchillas. It's just, you get what you pay for đ đ„°
Hope this helps :)))

That's an awesome cage! đ
My ferret nation cage came with plastic ramps
oh wow, I didn't know that the ferret nation would come with plastic ramps. Did they at least give you the ramp covers. As long as you have those, you can cover up the plastic and that should not be a problem. You can also make them yourself if you have fleece đ
You need to get rid of the ladders for the cage because it can hurt there feet
I just put the ladders for demonstration in order to compare the two cages. I donât plan on putting ladders in the cage. The critter nation does have fleece cover for the ramps, so it will not harm chinnies feet đ
Wait, why will it hurt their feet?
@@explodingpotato685 yes it will because 1. They can get their toes ripped off or stuck imbetween the bars 2. Just walking on the bars often can cause bumble foot wich is a sore on their feet almost like a blister and if untreated it can cause infection and further issues
