Nail weight recommendation? Is there a brand you prefer?
Thanks Tyler for the great fishing tips. Learn something every time.
😂”A little dab ul do yuh”, yes, such a dad phrase! Great video, Tyler!
It was the ad slogan for brylcream
Good video Tyler. Thanks for sharing your pro experience. I discovered when i snip off an 1/8 inch of lead from a 1/32 oz lead nail and insert it in the fat end it increases the diameter or the spiral of the 5" senko as it falls. When i did that i went from no bites on a swimbait to 15 bass in a 50 yards of weedline. Keep making these videos on what the pros use and how they the baots.
I never fished a wacky rig. I'm glad you put this video out. Thank you. Gotta try it now.
Go for it!
The knowledge you are obtaining by hanging around all those MLF anglers is amazing. You are a lucky guy to get to follow the tour.
It really is amazing how much I'm learning!
Nail weight recommendation?
Hello Tyler, I will love all the contacting you put out and keep going at it. I was wondering if you could do a updated rod and reel arsenal video for 2023 God bless and have a great rest of your day.
Awesome video thanks!
First, love the content! As a fellow believer in Jesus Christ, you motivate me and my fishing channel to get better and most importantly spread the word. Thanks for your amazing content! ❤
Thank you for the encouraging words! So glad to hear that!
I second that!
Thanks so much. I just started kayak bass fishing last week and today I got my first fish.
Thanks to your instructions and tips on the Wacky Worm.
PS a no spring worm lasted me 3 fish.
Heck yeah, I love that!
Good stuff! Thanks for the in-depth info on this deadly technique!
Glad it was helpful buddy!
I overlap 2 o-rings and hook the hook up threw noth crosses and I always pin the fat side of my senko 🤘🏻🤘🏻 I caught my pb here in upstate ny on a wacky rig (6.54lb largemouth) and I throw it all the time when it gets tough and always stick one
Do you have a video on tying a leader and when/why to use a leader?
Thanks for the info! Appreciate you sharing!
Of course!!
Great info analyst . Thank you l
I always thought plastic lures where just a waste of money until this year and I have never caught this many big boys in a season and it's not even half way over yet! So glad I took the time to learn! Awesome informative video brother!!
Heck yeah!! Love to hear it
I love your channel . You’re one of my favorite CZcamsrs and inspired me to start a CZcams channel
Super cool!
Thanks man followed you here from TikTok
Great vid as usual. What about the difference between wacky style and rigging the stick bait Texas rigged? Is it a night/day comparison or are there any similarities?
When you're picking up your VMC Redline hooks, grab their crossover wacky/neko tool. Works wonders for keeping your worm in one piece. The Gamakatzu G-Finesse weedless neko hooks are an awesome choice too
Not going to lie....😢 I've been missing my trf videos. 0 but a vast I'm watching one now
I love the wacky rig. It was pretty much the first bait i learned to use (other than a texas rig) and I have probably caught almost half my fish on it.
It’s great for sure!
Great video Tyler! I was out yesterday and forgot my whacky jig heads I like, I was fishing a light soft win bait head with a largo shad on it and it wasn’t working. I decided to throw a worm on that swim bait head and BAM I grabbed a 3lbser! I was surprised but not surprised lol🎣
You can make a functional wacky rig out of just about anything😂
I always have a wacky rig tied on. I would say half the fish I ever caught are with a wacky. Maybe I’m in the minority, but I love a small circle hook with an o ring on mine, and I seem to have no issues with hooking up. Thanks for the videos as always dude!
Great tips thank you
You are so welcome!
I never had luck with a wacky worm or a worm in general only had luck on craw and creature bait
I referred back to one of your earlier videos wherein you experimented using a fountain pen spring inserted into the worm for whacky rigging in an attempt to make it more durable. There is another method to consider that expands the load-bearing area of the hook-to-worm connection. Purchase 1/4 in (6mm) and 3/8 in (9.5 mm) clear, thin-walled, shrink wrap tubing. Either a 2:1 or 3:1 shrink ratio is fine. The 1/4" is for thinner diameter worms (e.g., Trick Worms) and the 3/8" is for Ocho/Senkos. Snip off a 3/8" or smaller length of the tubing and slide it onto the worm to the location wherein you want to hook it. Shrink the tubing using a BIC lighter, or something similar. It does not take much heat and will not harm the worm unless you go crazy with holding the flame there too long. Thereafter, insert the hook through both the shrink wrap tubing and the worm. Have you ever tried this method? I have VMC's new crossover rings but believe shrink tubing provides a more durable connection at lower cost.
I will give that a shot this summer!
I was getting slammed in a local pond with a wacky rigged 3 inch senko. They just stocked bass and bluegill in this year so they're like 1/2 lb. tops and it was purely a trout and catfish water before. On fwc website for my state said they've been good on live worms so got the senkos in a natural brown color. Also caught a trout with said wacky rig 😂 did not expect that to work out
Great video buddy
Thanks for the visit!
Tyler, you're the only one I've had to slow the video down to .75. Good video!
Glad CZcams has that feature!
Great video and love your content man! You mentioned you'd have the rod/reel/line info in the description and I didn't see that. What is that info if you don't mind. I love throwing a wacky rig but would appreciate your insight on what to throw it on. Thanks in advance! Love the channel.
Shoot! It’s in there now
@@TylersReelFishing thank you!
Land em everytime because the hook is small. Think of a offset hook. There usually a inch or more of hook hanging out there mouth which might now sound like much, but it’s enough weight when they are head shaking to come out. Wacky hooks are so small there is no extra hook hanging out, meaning the hook doesn’t move inside there mouth. I’ve had them before where I set the hook. Thought I missed them, and I reel in all my slack and they are still on. Best rig in my opinion. Close with DROPSHOT
I had came back from a 3 day skunk trip bank fishing california salt water coast, decided to stop by this lake called clear lake in california. Just at a rest stop i stopped to take a piss and i looked at the water and said why not. I had a few bass rods and 1 was rigged to a wacky rig. On second cast i thought snagged into a log. No! this was no log it was a 6 lb large mouth bass. Was literally shaking as i was pulling her out the water, cars were driving by because it was a highway and honking at me as they saw me pull out this log out of the water. Few weeks or maybe a month later a big tournament was held on the kayak's which i was following some utuber's videos. The biggest fish was like a 3 lb on that tournament and out of 165 anglers less than half caught a fish. So def i still to this day feel blessed. Which is why i am so addicted to bass fishing today and fishing in general.
This guy is like if Jon. B had a younger brother lol
Im his age lol
What are your thoughts on using a band to attach your hook to the senko? Is it worth not hooking into the senko or does it affect the action?
It will affect it for sure, but many guys do and have success with it. I just prefer it without
I’d never heard of this till fishing with a buddy at some local ponds. I remember thinking hmm that’s a weird way to rig a worm. He caught 41 fish that day. I caught 5. Made me a believer lol.
That’s a great testimony haha
I can't understand why nobody uses the Berkeley weighted heads. 3/16 works amazing!
thanks dude
No problem!
Use these alot with a thin piece of electrical tape around center helps get more use out of worm and run hook threw tape.
I use 5/16 or 3/8 shrink tube... you can hardly tear the worm off... like 3 bucks for 8 ft
Have that as well but if you forget the lighter electric tape works lol
Will the BassForcast help in local farm ponds and rivers, in Tx?
Yes, it is not “lake specific”, it’s GPS based
Thx TRF
I've caught my biggest bass on a wacky worm.
They catch giants for sure
Same
I live right here in North Charlotte and missed it
Darn!
Love me some Wacky rig 👍
Using a weighted wacky hook you can turn it into a fantastic search bait . While also fishing it finesse ✌️ ☮️
That’s true!
Tyler can you make NFNT outdoor stickers for Kayaks, boats, and trucks
Yessir! Got them coming!
I’m using something different then a stick worm for a wacky worm fishing. Just don’t know how to send you a pic of these worms I use and make.
I spent a Summer using the Zoom 4" Finesse worm. I slammed them. You should see the flapping that worm does on the way down!
@@robertbrost7777 I used them before. The ones I use now has curly tails on both ends. They make a lot of movement when they fall. I make them myself.
Whats up big perm! I mean big worm 😅
Tyler, a weighted wacky and a neko are different rigs. a neko is rigged longitudinally, a wacky is rigged across the worm.
Ehh, where I can see the technical differences, they are practically the same, especially with a super light weight
I tell you that ocho senko is the best
Try using a small bullet weight.
Looove using wacky worms...almost too easy lol.
Like candy from a baby!
@@TylersReelFishing 😆
I catch most of my Bass on a drop shot wacky rig…period.😉
Many folks do!
The Kevin Pereira of fishing.
Hey man I know you are a Christian, so am I, I'm just wondering what prayers do you say before you go out there brother I need to catch some of the stuff that you catch more often maybe your life is just cleaner living than I am, lol! That being said, I was very serious previously, but I'm just curious if you could actually tell me this? Are the bass bigger in Texas than anywhere else? Or do you know what State actually holds the biggest bass statistically speaking? Just curious.
Wacky rig and spinnerbait during this time
Lol haha it falls vertically lmao it's not like it could possibly fall horizontal lol
You can power fish a wacky rig. Change it to the Neko rig. Put 1/16 nail weight in the head. I can skip over 100 docks in a day.
Yep!
What part of the word secret don't u understand, lol
I caught a 5kg with wacky rig😂
It falls directly down, horizontally not vertically
Down is definitely vertical 😂
I just left Sam Rayburn and somehow for some reason I couldn’t get a fish to bite a wacky worm…😵
Because they are mostly post spawn there and not on vertical cover
@@TylersReelFishing that makes sense! Still learning… rookie mistake 🫣
I dont see the advantage of wacky vs weightless texas rig. Texas rig falls vertical without getting hung on everything
I’ve filmed many Texas rigged senkos falling underwater, and they hardly ever fall completely straight down, especially weightless. Wacky weightless is the only senko rigging that truly does
Just use live worms. You'll catch 10 times more fish.
Believe it or not, that’s actually not true. There are many places that you cannot accurately and efficiently place a live worm that you can a soft or plastic
