A Morning Walk with Butterfly Milkweed

A quiet morning walk around the prairie planting. The echinacea have exploded and grab most of our attention. Lower to the ground, a few bright orange butterfly milkweed are blooming. The correopsis have faded a little, and yet still provide a happy glow to the space. A few mystery buds and foliage we are keeping our eyes on. Spiderwort blooms seem smaller now. The sour cherries are nice and sour. The pears look cute at this stage growing upside down. Not sure why, but these pears have tasted horrible in past years. Maybe they are not meant for eating.
