What I studied at an Ivy League school is nowhere near a tier 2 or 3 school in India. For instance, I went to Cornell and we had a couple of weeks at the end of every semester where the prof taught us how they start businesses on the side in that scientific field, including raising funds. They even wrote with chalk and made us take notes in notebooks and literally prescribed little to no reference books. BEst part was they said this is the base now go use your imagination with this.

I think it is very wrong to say that the Professors from top colleges and teaching of top colleges in US are similar to India. All the top US colleges have Professors with top notch knowledge, experience and degree. If you have taken a live course with them you will be able to know the difference and all the students of such colleges I have talked to have said that ofcourse the people there are awesome and that's the best part about it. But the second best part about it is the Professors and there style of teaching.

i dont want to be to argumentative here, but if we are discussing "better" ranking universities, the majority of ivy league universities are ranked above these universities being listed. I would never consider UCLA to be better than say Penn, or Berkeley better than Harvard. Stanford and UChicago are comparable, while northwestern is also not on par with ivies (but i would consider closer than berkeley and ucla, but it is also dependent on your major). While the ivy league is an athletic conference, when people discuss it, it is a prestigious academic group, and for good reason. They are all top universities, in the setting of the usa and the world. Thats not to say the universities you mentioned arent great. But i feel an east coast versus west coast argument is an argument formed of initial bias and outright wrong to discuss.

Computer hardwared engineers are taught about floppy drives in their books and also asked in exams, who uses floppys.

The criteria such as expertise in the subject matter, real-world leading experience and stake in the respective industries, and the depth the approach to the curriculum requires is what sets these schools and its professors apart from the rest of the world. Aside from the alumni network and whatnot. It is a very three-dimensional education that goes beyond textbook learning and exams. It’s not back and white. The students also are screened holistically for many things besides scores and whatnot. There’s a lot to it.

I completely disagree with him. Teaching wise it may feel similar as in both cases professors stand in front of a group of students and teach😂.
But it ends there as students learn-abilty is a way better
    1. Professors quality in top 300 engg colleges in US vs India
    2. Class size
    3. Continuous back & forth engagement between students & profs
    4. Empathetic teaching approach where profs constantly gauaging how students are understanding the topic
    5. Weekly assignment and grading system
    6. Overall univ. infra that facilitates better learning environment
