Well they both are right and wrong. Ideally you need a mix of big name players who are older with new but talented players. Then it's the clubs job to hype up and market the small names as much as possible to keep interest after the big names leave and maybe sell some to get back money spent.

    • @brandons2199

exactly, if the mls isn’t able to promote their own homegrown talent it’s going to be tough to grow the league, there’s also the reality where the good young talent of the mls end up going to europe which is good and bad

    • @bamdad19996

If mls is constantly able to pump out star players, then a bunch of big names leaving won't be an issue and will only generate revenue. Also more and more people will end up watching. Its like how dortmund has become alot more popular recently cause of haaland and jude.
Alot easier said than done tho. You also need to fix the salary cap in MLS so you can actually keep generational talents longer.

Idk about Inter Miami, but Barca and PSG should be ashamed of themselves. The fans of these two teams should be ashamed of their franchises as well. Messi blessed PSG fans with phenomenal football and the fans and management both backstabbed him. With Barca, I understand the fans and they appreciated and loved him, however, Barca management backstabbed the GOAT so many times. Finally Messi is free. In my mind, Messi is now officially semi retired when he likely would have played another 2-3 years in Europe if PSG or Barca treated him with more respect like he deserved.

In Europe this is fine cause another owner can just take over and if the team promotes again, make insane amount of money however in MLS, that could mean the end of the team.
Mls needs around double or more teams that it has now so teams can be relegated and still be competitive in lower leagues.

Remove the salary cap and introduce two divisions with 15 teams each. The bottom 2 teams in the upper division will be relegated and top 2 teams in lower division promoted.
So what if say 5 teams end up dominating the upper division. This has happened already in most leagues all over the world and it has not made any of those leagues any less viable. It is these dominating teams that attract the most talent to their respective leagues and when top talent flows in, others will follow. Lower ranked teams will strive hard to break into the top 5 tier some day (just as Man City has eventually done in the EPL) so long as the league creates incentives to do so.
Stop all this even playing field nonsense. The only criteria should be that a team remains profitable. That's the capitalist way to success.
