Well discussion was spot on as they did also remember take in account about the transfer fee. With the money spent on Mudryk and Enzo (even, if they belong in A as a player) they might be B-level signing so far, but so far that's like just 1 or 2 appearances for both so can't tell much, but you expect a lot more, when spending big money.
On the other hand some of these cheaper signings 20 or 30 million ones are pretty easy to judge as you don't have to look at their price tag too much while comparing their performance to other players in same position.

He also wasted a large portion of his loan by getting sent off
I think he's just that low because they've spent 9mil on a 6 month loan with no buy option, with Felix signing a new contract with Atletico Madrid. So essentially unless Chelsea get top 4 or win the champions league it's been a pointless signing. The only hope is that he loves his time so much that he demands a move but even then he'll be going for insane money.

Chelsea's January window cost more than all the best players in PL history combined yet most signings are players we never knew existed a year ago. £300M spent doesn't mean £300M in quality.

Other than Enzo and Mudryk you can't really see where the rest of the money is gone, majority of them arent world class and are potentials = time, which he doesn't have, money would of been better spend on Rice, Bellingham to sort out the midfield and someone like Kane, really shocked they havent sorted the striker position out (Felix is not a striker).

Thing regardless of their transfer fee many of Chelsea's transfer target could end up being a B at least.
The likes of Enzo, Badiashile, Fofana, Felix [if signed permanently], Mudryk and Nkunku are surely A/A+, Cucurella x Koulibaly could redeem themselves x Noni could end up being much better than expected.
All this is dependent of Potters ability to get a tune out of them though. Fingers crossed

i think gusto is a great signing, they either sell him on for the same money or most likely more in a couple years, or they keep him and he plays half the season as james is out half the season. I know that you shouldn't judge after 1 or 2 matches but for the price tags they will be. If I'm judging them players on last night they are all pretty terrible for the money spent lol but we will see
The problem yesterday wasn't the new signings, the problems all came from their longer term players from the club, Havertz, Mount, Gallagher, Ziyech all terrible, then Cucurella was only bad new signing. Mount and Cucurella took up Mudryk space so he couldn't move.
Where would sky be without us? they love our club.
2020: we spent 200m+ saying with the idea we are investing in young players and there is long term goal. For that investment we had CL to show for it at least which is still not a good enough return imo.
2022 summer: We spent another 300m most of who were overpaid for and half of who are on high wages and are not even performing at the best levels.
2022 winter: We spent another 300m to get a lot of unproven talent on high wages. These purchases are all gambles because they might be in form, but whether they can sustain their form is a different question.
I honestly dont understand how our fans are seeing any of this in positive light as this is exactly what Manchester United and Barcelona have done in the past and look where that got them...

It's not about how much they spent but whether these signings will be worth the investment. Only time will tell which is why most of the contracts given were 7 year contracts. However there best signing so far since the Todd Boehly takeover has been Benoit Badiashile. He has been incredible in defence so far. Looking forward to when the forwards gel and connect. There is something special cooking at Chelsea Football Club whether you are a fan of them or not.

I disagree with the comment at the end of the show... "Enzo Fernandez is a lower grade because of all the money that Chelsea spent for the entire window." How does the amount of money spent by a club affect a player's ability to perform on the pitch? .... it doesn't. It would be the same thing as saying "I would give you a higher grade as a television personality, but because there were 4 of you on the show and your employer spent all that money on 4 people to be on that show, I have to give you a lower grade."
It makes no sense. It's not a player's fault that Mr. Boehly, Clear Lake Capital, and the others have a lot of money so they spent some.

I mean I dont understand rating transfers based on fees, especially for Chelsea transfers. Fees don't matter as long as it's under FFP rules. What matters is which players can do well and stay for a long time at chelsea
I find it funny that Chukuemeka will be the only A on your list. Is it because he's British? He's a C for me. I think some Felix, Joao and Enzo are A list as well. Let's revisit this at the end of the season.
Very generous on a lot of those. The mere fact that so many of those signings are directly competing for the same position means that several are guaranteed to flop. Not many outright bad players, but a lot of average or bad signings. I think Badiashile goes to A and Koulibaly goes to D. Cucurella is an E. Sterling is a D. Mudryk is a C. Madueke is a D. Felix is an E. enzo can maybe be moved up to A.
To be very clear this isn’t so much a measure of them as players, but a rating on the teansfers. For example, Mudryk has to be a C because he was very well scouted… by Arsenal. Chelsea have blown a huge fee on a player because Arsenal wanted him, not because he fits the system that the manager wants to play. In doing so they have also limited the chances of the likes of Madueke and Sterling, who will never be the priority over him due to the fee. It’s just awful business all around for some genuinely good players.
A - Badiashille, Gusto, Enzo, Carney, Madueke
B - Fofana, D.D. Fofana, Mudryk, Zakaria
C - Sterling, Andrey Santos, Casadei
D - Felix, Koulibaly
E - Aubameyang, Cucurella
Madueke has loads of quality affordable price tag if he gets injured or doesn't work out can loan him or sell him to prem for good money so maybe a B at worst. Cucurella don't rate him but at best could move to a D. Other that wouldn't change it at all.

@xGribbles everyone's above auba 😂, for what he done at arsenal and barca he should have done a lot more. He barely influences games, barely tries and also has one goal involment in the prem compared to Cucurella's 2. (from defence not centre forward) . Don't get me wrong I feel like most centre forwards would struggle at Chelsea which has been pretty evident for the past couple of years but he has zero ability to create anything for himself, has the pase of my nan now and is on very high wages with practically zero resell value. So that's why.

Cucarella is still a good player i think. He is just losing confidence and he always want to play so safe that would rather always back pass than attack. He is good at defending but he should take some risk and sometimes play more offensive.

Felix in D is a harsh one. He got a red in his debut so hasn't played but looked so much better than Havertz has for quite a while. He isn't an out and out striker but if Chelsea sign him permanently I expect they will sell Havertz. The fact hes not played much yet puts him in C with others where they have benefit of the doubt.

Here's what I would do. 4-2-2-2 Auba-Felix Sterling-Ziyech Fernandez-Kovacic Chillwell-Thiago-Badiashile-James. Pulisic, Mudryk and Mount can be attacking subs where you need them. And of course get rid of Auba and Cucurella at the first chance for someone else

I love it when they have JLA on. He talks sense and bases his opinions on facts, where as the others say either hyperbolic opinions based on feeling or just make stuff up. The difference really shows.
JLA could have spoken for hours about the issues with Koulibaly and Spencer et al would still put him in C because of his name alone.
Bin off the rest, get JLA to host with people like him and you might get a few more eyes on the shows.
