+Harshavardhan Patil one minor problem.. this isn't strictly Pakistani music.. Fareed sahab is basically from Delhi where Amir Khusro created beauty .. it is politics that has divided the two lands and forced people like him out of his motherland.. so let's not even call people of Pakistan "Pakistani" - they indeed are our brothers.

Someday I wish the governments of both India and Pakistan will be formed by bunches of poets, singers, philosophers and magicians. I wish someday jammu-kashmir will raises their voice with spiritual tunes of humanity. Being a Bangladeshi I had a general hatred on Pakistan for their brutal political movement against us since 1947 to 1971 and that's the prime reason of my wishes stated above. On spiritual music I must say, love u Pakistan, India or who ever you are. Divine can never produce hatred.

Let me explain what this song is about. In Sufi mysticism, the spirit or soul is represented as female madly in love with God, the "Sweetheart." They are singing to give voice to this human spirit. In the song, the "color" is a symbol of mystical divine revelations and jubilation is spiritual union with God.

I was flying from Sacramento back to Los Angeles. I boarded the plane and put my noise cancelling headphones on. The plane started to move on the runway to this song, and took off right at the time of the chorus at 3:41 to "Aaj rung hai..".
    It was a magical feeling.
But then I realized; I have always taken off at 3:41 when listening to this song. I didn't need a plane to fly high to this song. This song has always cancelled all the noise around me. I didn't need noise cancelling headphones.
It's my alarm. It's my work song. It's my shower song. It's my relaxing song. It's my happy song. Thank you all who made this.

At times likes these, I just feel blessed to live in such an era, where access of such songs is not a problem. This is epic

Then why aren't you reading his poetry somewhere instead of listening to Pakistani music? Sounds like hating. There's a reason credits usually have a long list in songs, movies and even some books. I would've not even known Amir Khusro if it wasn't for coke studio Pakistan. In fact, they could sing the same song about dodo the bird and I'd still love it. Music > Everything else.
