  • In this video I build a Lap steel guitar from a old piece of 2x4.
We add position markers to the lap steel. I also show what is sounds like clean, with compression and reverb, then also some pedals for good fun.
I really like the lap steel guitar sound and it has that metal futuristic sound that grabs attention when you first hear it, much like when you hear an electric pianos. It is something really iconic.
I just need to learn how to play this guy.

Fascinating. It could give life to old parts just laying around, and be a good platform for testing pickups. 🤔🤓

That's sounds like a fun mod to this, having the pickup switchable out.

Not a bad DIY instrument, I can see it is hellish hard to keep in tune though, just one little movement and you're into microtonal territory!

You're not supposed to play it with a pick traditionally, but honestly if it works for you and keeps your passion brewing then I see nothing wrong with that

I love that you are plugging the cheapest instrument on the planet into a thousand dollars worth of pedals. 😅

@@deancoyle But... You have good taste in pedals. That's all that matters!
